  1. Worse swing ever. Anyway, that's a wrap. I don't care anymore.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) This entire thing is a mess. I don't see a light at the end of this tunnel until they just clean house. Kenny and Ozzie need to go. Clean out the minor leagues, and just start over. There is no plan. From the top to the bottom. We fling crap at the wall and pray something sticks. For years we have used the buy low methodlogy to picking up outside help. Not being able to understand that your mancrush from 5 years ago, is not the same player sans injuries and age. The minor leagues are just abysmal. We have had 2 times over the last few years to reload and haven't because Kenny always thinks he is one player away. We still go searching for bargains in the draft instead of looking for talent. The only difference is that we are now at least paying attention to the first round. Afte that its almost like we think there is nothing there after the first round. Then of course we don't instruct. Wear the mitt on your head and we will promote you. Can't hit a curveball, you get promoted. Dont know which way to run, we promote you. Excellent post.
  3. For the love of god, Paul, DON'T HIT BALL ON GROUND! I'd rather you K. Of course, you could go game 2 of the World Series right now if you want.
  4. Everybody had to know that after getting a single run after having them loaded with no outs that this was going to happened. I think it was Wite that said games with the Twins appear to be scripted.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) Good thing Danks had good defense behind him....could have easily been a 6 or 7 run outing for him. I'm not going to be too upset when we trade him this offseason. I thought he was once untouchable. And he probably is to a degree. But when I look at guys like CC, Price, Lester, Liriano, hell, even guys like Cahill and Brett Anderson, I'm not as enamored with Danks.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) 9 back by Friday? More than a legitimate possibility. The Twins have completely mind-f***ed this franchise. And it starts with Ozzie and obsession with licking their assholes every chance he gets.
  7. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) hope we can get to their bullpen. get out of this inning first tho. You say that like their bullpen is a weakness.
  8. Unbelievable. And Rios' defense has been s*** of late.
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:55 PM) You almost knew DP is coming when AJ gets out there, he's having a terrible season. Understatement. His only saving grace this year has been his defense. But we've got Tyler Flowers waiting in the wings.
  10. Pathetic. You know the Twins are not done scoring.
  11. Anything less than 2 runs here is a fail.
  12. PK's not the MVP. But take him off the team and we're the Mariners.
  13. QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) Twins just go out and get their business done quietly (like their manager)... Sox players whine about umpire calls and showboat on defense (like their manager and GM)... Twins are getting this done without 2/3 of their best players which is amazing. Neither is the Rays' offense. But they're fighting for best record in baseball right now. Even if the Twins' pitching isn't the best, the other components of their team cancels that out. Whoops. Meant to quote mcgrade70.
  14. QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) Lets come back and win this game and get some momentum, at least make it interesting, worst case we prove we can beat them and not deal with this crap next year. Are you greg's twin? Winning this series means nothing for next year.
  15. Danks has to shut them the f*** down from this point. DO NOT give it right back.
  16. Damn, I was about to give up. Way to go, Lexi!
  17. And for the "he's doing it in the NL"crowd. Keep in mind this is the SECOND time he's completely bamboozled the Reds. The same Reds that rank 5th, 4th, 5th, tied for 7th and 4th in BASEBALL in average, runs, home runs, obp and slg%.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:22 PM) You can't take away credit from minny -- they're now closing in on home field advantage in the AL. They've made a great push and are just playing extremely well with what i think is a very average rotation after Liriano. They could be the best team in the AL with a healthy Morneau. They've been amazing since the break. And it all started with Bobby's epic choke in that Sunday afternoon game.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:05 PM) Well, another dominate start for Hudson. UGH! Why can't he just be awful to make the trade look a little better? It's bad when you've got to go back to the Danks/Floyd trades to find the last good one KW's made. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) What exactly has Edwin Jackson done beside make more money to make this trade seem lopsided in Hudson's way? Was it pitching in (sort of, at least for a little bit) a pennant race while Hudson pitches (very well of course) for the dead last place D'backs? Seems pretty even to me.... The "pressure of the pennant race" excuse is almost as lame as the "he's doing it in the NL" excuse."
  20. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) if manny has a good series will make the investment worthwhile. PUH LEAZ SWEEP SO I CAN MAKE FUN OF TWINS FANS EVERYWHERE FINALLY You didn't make fun of them in '05 and '08?
  21. I know a good way to offset all these season-ending injuries...add two more games! Brutal f***ing proposal from day 1.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 07:47 AM) Lotsa playoff/NL east injury news came through last night after I left. Jimmy Rollins has a hamstring strain. Day to day. John Johnson (Marlins) is being shut down for the season with a back strain. My fantasy starting pitching is getting murdered. I've lost Strasburg, Nolasco, Santana, Johnson and Morrow across 4 leagues. Strasburg/Santana have legitimate injuries. But more and more teams that are out of the race in September are just shutting their guys down out of paranoia. I understand their logic. But god damnit! I'm trying to win fantasy titles. Yes, I know you don't give a s***. Just venting.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) The irony here is that you post on a baseball message board, where what you are saying is even less relevant than anything you are posting because you have exactly a zero chance of having anything to do with the White Sox organization, well, ever. By that logic, you should never want anyone to read or hear what you have to say about the Sox. Sorry, that's just ridiculous and I don't agree at all. But I regress. I think I've made my point. JPN, scenario, chasefan, I respect your points/opinions. I'll just leave it at that.
  24. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 12:52 AM) Like I said... if your getting a bat next season (upgrading at DH or 1B if PK leaves, 3B, etc..) you do it without hesitation and bring back A.J. who won't kill you. I'm sure any of us would have done the same thing. (especially netting 2 draft picks out of it) I mean come on.. it's Adam Dunn. But for a franchise who has been crying poor, despite actually spending, I would assume they would be playing more guys at the minimum, especially having a 50+ million dollar rotation locked up. Not if I thought Flowers was a legitimate prospect. He's been trash ever since he left Bham for Charlotte. And it's not like we're talking about a 20/21 year-old that was rushed to AAA. I'm not saying he's flat done as a prospect. But many prospect 'experts' have soured on him quite a bit. And even when he was mashing his defense has always been a concern. He'll be 25 before the either baseball season starts next year and there's just too many questions for me to feel good about him even in a part-time role.
  25. QUOTE (scotty22hotty @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) resign omar & jones, Tank to 1B, morel to 3B, and Flowers at C invest the saved $ into the bullpen And your third place at best Chicago White Sox!
