Let's help Brooks Boyer with marketing ideas...
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) Why? You haven't been happy about anything since you've joined the board. Fixed. But fathom will be alright. He's always got his cubbies.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) Nice start for Nevin Griffith. It would be great if he turned into a prospect we could get excited about. At least until we trade him. Fixed.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 11:33 PM) Are you asking me who I'd rather have or who I personally like? In either case, your killin me smalls. I was on one of the ESPN fantasy boards yesterday. There was a thread asking for people to rank the #3 in their personel order. I have no idea how I'd rank those three. Kershaw is my favorite. But that's a tough one.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 11:09 PM) One of my favorite young pitchers in the game. Nasty stuff he's got though he's prone to the walk as we all can see. Congrats though. Love the Rockies. Here's a doozie for ya: Ubaldo, Kershaw or Hanson? Also, have there ever been Co-CY winners? Because we're definitely headed down that avenue in the NL.

Uggghhh! 4-17
QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) While I'm disappointed with the start, I'm really not surprised by it. I felt that with this number of changes in the lineup it was going to take some time to get things to gel. It's important to remember that all of these losses with the exception of Garcia's start in Toronto, have all been close games. And while I think getting Juan Pierre was a mistake, and batting Kotsay 5th is a really big mistake, there is time for this team to pull together and have a very good season. I think the big fear is the Twins not just pulling away, but that they are a very good team. Probably as good as the Yankees, and better then the Red Sox and Tampa Bay. If this is the case we will not be able to catch them because they have joined the elite of the American League. Uh, yeah, this, like, isn't the case at all. It's going to take a lot more than a hot opening two weeks before you can legitimately put them in that class. The Twins are playing as well as they can possibly play right now. They're going to come back to earth rather soon. So will see. But, yes, they're the class of the division at the moment.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) How dare that I be pissed off that the Twins created a team much better than us while we wasted our money away this offseason and last year. I can't see any reason to be upset at the fact that the Twins are significantly better than us. YOu are right, I apologize. Besides (and don't take this personally) acting like a b****, what are you really accomplishing? You've made it PAINFULLY obvious EVERY day what you think of the situation in the central. You've given the Twins the division less than 15 games into the season. We suck. They rule. We blow. They're great. f*** KW. f*** Ozzie. Pods >>>>>>>> Pierre. Twins='27 Yankees. Sox='03 Tigers. WE GET IT!

The Cavs are similar to the Jordan-led teams in that you get so caught up in Lebron, that you don't realize or simply just forget how good the rest of the team is. You don't mean to. It just happens. The Cavs are a good f***ing team. They're super deep and have multiple ways of coming at you. Much more diverse than last year's team.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) No power, no walks, too many K's, to go along with less than glowing scouting reports. Oh yeah, that $10M price tag doesn't help people's perception either. Blunt, but accurate.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) Another day, another save for Jon Rauch. Twins are going to destroy this division. How many different ways are you going to say the same f***ing thing?

2010 Minor League Catch-All Thread
Rain cut short Strasburg's start last night. 2 1/3 IP, 2 H, 1 R (unearned), 0 BB, 3 K. Columbus/Louisville was rained out. Will be played tomorrow, though. Looking forward to see Chapman vs Santana.

Pods
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:32 AM) We are Chicago; I figured Grandy would be attainable in such a great city w/out the pressures of NYC. Wait, what? What does this mean? You say some of the most random/odd stuff.

Pods
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 11:36 PM) The thing that gets me, though, is why we always assume Pierre will have good numbers AGAIN this year. He didn't have more than 400 at bats each of the last two years. Aren't we planning on giving him 600 at bats this year? For some reason, I'd be more excited about a Granderson or Damon or even a Pods than Juan Pierre. To me, Juan Pierre is yawn inducing. Don't know why, I just not crazy bout him. lol. Well no s***.

4/16 GT: Sox @ Indians, Buehrle v. Talbot
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) It's human nature for a lot of people. Don't take it too seriously or let it get you down. I know it's annoying to read. The day I let a gamethread get me down is the day I stop posting here. But yeah, annoying is not even the word.

4/16 GT: Sox @ Indians, Buehrle v. Talbot
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) J4L, did you really expect people to stay very optimistic with the way this team has played? Honestly? This offense is Houston Astros bad right now. According to some, the season was over 5 games ago. Why even bother?

4/16 GT: Sox @ Indians, Buehrle v. Talbot
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) Even this year, they said: This team needs to get off to a good start, we need people in the ballpark early in the year. Too bad. KW said something similar last year and he added Peavy/Rios. Selective memory?

4/16 GT: Sox @ Indians, Buehrle v. Talbot
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:15 PM) We are going to have our worst attendance in years if this offense keeps playing like this. lol. Because our attendance is always so consistent.

4/16 GT: Sox @ Indians, Buehrle v. Talbot
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) Who cares about your bullpen when your offense averages .02 runs per game. Because I'd rather have a struggling offense and a good bullpen than a struggling offense and a Cubs-like bullpen.

4/16 GT: Sox @ Indians, Buehrle v. Talbot
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) I would love to have to eat a bunch of crow come July when this team is on fire, but right now I'm having trouble finding something to feel good about. The bullpen.

4/16 GT: Sox @ Indians, Buehrle v. Talbot
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) thats always been my biggest beef. this team just doesn't even look alive. nothing. this is when we need to rebuild as a franchise. Yes, the key to any successful franchise is having players that look alive at all times.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) Just reading that is depressing. That was easily achieveable too. That's the s***ty thing. Glad we are paying 11 million to a guy thats going to put up a 700 OPS lmao. You're to Alex Rios what Glenn Close was to Michael Douglas.
