  1. QUOTE(The Bones @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 07:59 PM) so...i don't want to sound like an idiot or anything but how do i get in the chat? i don't see it anywhere on the main page. I don't see it either. wtf? Sorry@Willie.
  2. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 05:00 PM) Uribe is ready for the season. So we thought last year. The spring isn't much of a hurdle for Juan.
  3. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) Of all the offensively challenged players, Ben Wallace and Tyrus Thomas are going nuts. Ben took 21 shots tonight.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:54 PM) At one time Qwerty had by far the highest posts per hour rate in board history, even higher than anything Jabroni did. Qwerty just stopped posting. Really? This must've been back in 2004 or early 2005. Because I swear J took over after that.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) I always thought he was a damn good poster, even when he came back the second time under an assumed name. He just go in way too many petty quarrels which led to his demise. Agreed. I liked him. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:45 PM) He aint touchin qwerty I'll say that. Are you serious? Q doesn't post anywhere near as much as Jabroni did. Not even close. lol. Jabroni would've passed up Gage months ago if he hadn't stopped posting or gotten banned last year.
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) Always a good laugh to go back and read some of the posts from when Thornton was acquired. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47754 Man, what happened to Jabroni? He was on his way to surpassing Jason and SS2K5 for total posts. I guess I now know why I'm not a GM.
  7. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) who f***ing cares? cotts couldnt get dick out last year, and he can eat my ass... *this post brought to you by the swear filter... Soxtalk volatility at it's best. I love it.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) Once we are full I will draw names for the draft order and then we will run a snake draft so last pick of 1st round=1st pick of 2nd round. Thanks for the info. I'm in.
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:13 PM) Looks like the SoxTalk chat is working, or we could do an AIM chat, or we could just do in through a thread. Doesn't matter to me. Alright, I'll just check back here every now and then until a decision has been made. One more thing, how do we determine the draft order?
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 09:08 PM) Ya I suck at explaining but I will try. We get 8-10 posters in. We hold a draft with all the players in the tournament and it's just like a fantasy draft. Each team ends up with 5-6 players and whichever posters group of 5-6 players scores the most points in the tournament wins. Ya good time for me as well. Does 8 pm CST work for everyone else? That works for me. Cool. Where do we report to for the draft?
  11. I'm in. Somebody needs to explain this to me, though.
  12. Remember the words of JFL: The White Sox will rue the time they mistreated Brian Anderson.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 06:25 PM) Well, when I say outpitch I don't mean just looking at their ERA. That's not realistic. Wins? What's your criteria?
  14. Jphat, don't forget Freddy is in the NL this year. He dominated NL teams last year. I'd be shocked if he didn't atleast match last year's numbers (era will probably be lower). No way in hell Floyd or Danks will out-pitch Freddy in 2007.
  15. Scottydo, just let it go, man. Pods has become the most hated, disrespected player in recent White Sox memory -- atleast on this board. Funny, this is the same board that got him into the all-star game in 2005 over Jeter. lol. All Pods has to do is have a year simliar to what he had in 2005. Something like .285-.290/.350-.360, steal bases at atleast a 75% clip. Play atleast an adequate LF. We're fine if he can do that. The rest will be up to the rotation and bullpen.
  16. I'll be pissed off if Boone is part of the package.
  17. Draft is two days away and I see we've only got 9 people signed up. C'mon, people!
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) and Scott Podsednik He made up for it, though. Anyway, no need to go on about this. You made your point and I respect your opinion.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) The crowd was much louder and crazier for konerko's I agree with this. I know I was louder. One minute I'm floating on air because I'm thinking in my head that Konerko's slam is gonna turn out to be the game-winner. The next minute I'm on suicide watch because Jenks blew it in the 9th. I had already used up every bit of emotion I had, good and bad, that I literally had nothing left when Pods hit the walk-off.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) It doesn't matter who hit it....that grand slam on the 1st pitch after a commercial break was as dramatic a situation as possible. Agreed. But thanks to Bobby Jenks and Aaron Rowand, the game was still very much in doubt until Pods ended it. And I'm glad we didn't have to trot Bobby out there for the 10th. He looked like he was about to cry once Houston tied it up. I'm not sure he could've held them the rest of the way.
  21. QUOTE(Reddy @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) technicalities... I know it sounds simple, but it really is that simple. Yeah, Konerko's was probably more dramatic because we were behind. That's fair. But I have a hard time calling any HR that didn't actually win us a game the biggest in team history. Of course, Pods was the one who hit it. I'm sure if Dye or Crede had hit the walk-off no one would debate it was the bigger HR.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) PK's homer was the turning point in that whole series. I can honestly say Konerko's homer was my favorite sports memory ever. But it didn't win us the game. The Pods homer did.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) Biggest HR in team history. LOL. You just refuse to give Pods any kind of credit.
  24. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 01:15 AM) Mark had a bad season. He's proved himself over a NUMBER of seasons. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Javier has NOT. Mark has been brilliant since he's been with us. But what happened in the second-half last year can't be ignored, no matter what he's done in the past. He wasn't just bad. Bad is being wayyyyy too kind. I can't even think of the right word to describe how horrible Mark was from July 2nd through the end of the season. Can he bounce back? Of course. I think he will. But all the concerns regarding Mark are legitimate until he shows last year's second-half was just a terrible fluke.
