  1. MM looked real good. This bullpen has a chance to be somethin' special.
  2. Jose! I hope that's it for him. That's 3 straight really good starts for our rotation.
  3. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) I was waiting for this post. Who gives a rat ass? It's a guaranteed run. There were two outs in the inning against a tough pitcher. We don't have time/outs to try and drop bunts, steal, and move runners over. Has a fanbase ever made the HR appear to be as evil as Sox fans do? And it's so nice to see Pods playing well.
  4. Jabroni would have about 67,000 posts by now had he not vanished.
  5. What a wonderful thread. Frank will be one of the select few to hit 500 naturally. It will be so sweet.
  6. Why didn't Floyd pitch? Or was he not scheduled to start?
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 01:40 AM) I didn't edit your post, this is on your head. When someone says something is a 'good omen' why would you go and change it? It doesn't matter. Javy is going to dominate. If not, Wite will be hearing from me.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 01:34 AM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=1383502 One of the first posts in yesterday's game thread a poster happened to use 'are' in the incorrect manner just as you did there and guess what? Sox win. That was post #3 and yours was #4. Good omen. You f***ed up kid. Why didn't you tell me earlier? If we lose it's your fault, sir.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 01:25 AM) You should not have done that. Bad Omen. Bad. Botching a word is good omen? Do tell?
  10. We really, really need Javy to go 6-7 innings tonight. Our bullpen has been abused so far. Edit: Fixed for Kalapse.
  11. Hawk is a legend. He's one of my idols. Why would a White Sox fan care if he's a homer? Here are my sports idols in order: Michael Jordan, Frank Thomas, Walter Payton, Bo Jackson, Hawk. That's it. Once Hawk goes, White Sox baseball will never be the same.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:07 PM) For all the crap people gave the Cubs for spending so much money on Lilly and Marquis they seem to be looking pretty good after their 1st starts. Get back to us a couple weeks from now.
  13. I like this move by Ozzie. Thornton stinks right now. Put it in the hands of your best guy.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:34 AM) I don't comprehend. Last year, their fortunes turned around when Gardenhire pulled the plug on Batista and Lohse sooner, rather than later. Or maybe when Liriano blitzed the entire league? He's not around this year. Neither is Radke, who was also a major reason for their turnaround.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:40 AM) So....who is likely to be the first pick in the 2008 draft? What needs do we have? Flash gets his wish.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) TRU/Balta's boy Bonds hit #735 today. He's now 20 HR away from embarrassing baseball. I can't wait. And did anybody catch the Oakland/Seattle game last night? Rich Harden is sick! If he's healthy, he, along with Felix Hernandez, will challenge Johan for the CY.
  17. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 06:18 PM) I wish I shared your confidence. As I said before, I think Pods could go 0 for April and still play regularly. I think you're wrong. Kenny and Ozzie aren't messing around this year. If Pods is stinkin' up the joint come May, I think something will happen. But he's not getting benched after one 0/4 performance on April 4th. I'm MUCH more worried about the pitching right now.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 06:11 PM) Well said. I'm still waiting for something to make me optimistic that things won't be the same as they were during the 2nd half of last year. I'm just so annoyed we have to deal with the same worthless Independent League caliber left fielder. fathom, there's nothing on earth that could ever make you optimistic.
  19. QUOTE(iamshack @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:53 PM) Podsednik needs to go back to his 05' formula of being aggressive. Ever since he started trying to draw more walks (to please all the OBP pundits), he has lost all effectiveness. And if you want to point fingers today, I think you all are leaving one very important man out: Jermaine Dye: 0-4, 3 k's, and terrible defense in right field. He hurt us a hell of a lot more than Pods today. But it's just so much more fun to blame Pods. Nice to see you back posting, iamshack. Haven't seen you in a while.
  20. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:42 PM) Ryan Sweeney will pwn once he makes it to the show... No he won't. Atleast not right away.
  21. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:34 PM) If you call barely taking 2 swings working the pitchers... well then pods really worked them over! Like I said, I only saw two of his at-bats. The walk in the first inning and his last at-bat. I was trying to work and watch the game at the same time. You know how that is.
  22. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:29 PM) If anyone is looking to vicariously blame Podsednik for our loss, when he was caught stealing second base off the noodle-arm of Martinez there were several straight hits afterwards. We lost by one run. CUT HIS ASS, NOwZERS!!!! As one of like, well, I'm the only Pods supporter on this board. I can't even excuse or justify that. Pods should just forget about stealing bases right now. Get on base. That's it. I only saw a couple of his at-bats. But I did like that he was atleast working the pitchers.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:23 PM) I don't know what the gun said and to tell you the truth I don't really care, it looked like he was throwing mid 90's with ease along with great movement both towards and away from righties. He was getting his breaking ball over with great break and excellent command. It was honestly one of the greatest innings ever thrown by a White Sox pitcher. I'm not sure they even touched a pitch he threw. Alright then. I was just curious. He's supposed to be able to hit 95 consistently. Atleast that's what I've heard/read. But if he can get guys out like he did today, I don't care how hard he throws.
  24. Did we really leave that many guys on? That doesn't sound right.
