  1. It was worth a shot. Can't hate on a guy for wanting to go to school.
  2. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 01:11 PM) Honest question about Duhon. Why the fuss over keeping him? He has an atrocious FG and 3PT percentage, and averages a turnover for every 1.75 assists. I admit he is a good rebounding guard, and he plays solid defense, but is he really worth any kind of bidding war if it comes to that? This isn't the usual UNC hatred of a Duke player either, I think Duhon is a good guy and I'm actually rooting for him. Now I think I will go vomit. Duhon is a really good defender with a solid bball i.q. His jumper improved as the season went on. Hinrich doesn't have to chase the quick pg's around all game with Duhon in there. As somebody mentioned, his assist/turnover ratio was one of the best in the league. This guy was a secound round steal. We most definitely have to bring him back.
  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) Deng could play as the shooting guard. He did during basically every game for a few minutes at least at some point in time. Now he wouldn't be an ideal shooting guard but it would work out. Both deng and iggy are superior overall players than gordon, by far. Deng, when healthy, is a better overall player. But Iggy? He's already a damn good defender. But the rest of his game is suspect. He has nothing that resembles a jumper and can't really create. His best offensive move is catching a lob from Iverson. I'd take Mr. Clutch over Iggy at this point.
  4. Looks like the interest in Eddy has not been hurt one bit by his recent heart problems. Bulls quickly learn Curry in demand Cavaliers, Hawks contact center as free agency begins As Friday's NBA free-agent signing period approached, the Bulls wondered if other NBA teams might take a chance on pursuing Eddy Curry despite his iffy health. Did they? In a heartbeat. Any questions about how Curry's heart condition might affect the market for his services were answered shortly after midnight Thursday when, according to a source, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks contacted the Bulls' center once the free-agency bell had sounded. I can't post the whole article. Here's the link. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...bulls-headlines You might have to register. It's free and quick.
  5. Warrick has Gerald Wallace written all over him. Amazing athlete. But what else can he do? He would be perfect for a run and gun team. But a half-court team like the Grizzlies?
  6. The future looks pretty good. But i'm squarely focused on 2005.
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 01:29 AM) 2005 Runs scored Sox = 370 Det = 334 Ya. I see your point. When in doubt, Yansy always steps up.
  8. The fact that we can make a legitimate argument for 3 guys from our starting staff is amazing in itself. I don't think he'll make it. Like somebody mentioned, you're not gonna have 3 starting pitchers from one team make it. Not unless they play in NY, Boston, or that other s***ty team in Chicago.
  9. This thread needs to be destroyed.
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) I don't see why you don't think there's a big difference between being 10 games up on the Twins and only 9. We should just go with our 2nd worst bullpen option instead of our closer because another game tacked onto our lead over the Twins doesn't matter much? Maybe i'm wrong. But i'm lookin ahead to August, September, and hopefully October. Do you really think we're gonna do anything with just Pollite, Cotts, Marte, and Hermanson? And who's to say Pollite, Cotts, and Hermanson don't come back to earth a little? I pray and hope they keep pitching lights out. But, to be a championship team, we need Shingo and Vizcaino. We need those guys in pressure situations. And tonight was a pressure situation. And I don't think there's a big difference between being up 10 games compared to 9.
  11. I guess the question of rather Uribe or Ozuna should play short was answered tonight. As far as the game goes...I'm starting to believe we are kinda lucky. lol But i'll take the w every single time. A nice healthy 10 game lead on the Twins going into July!
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) You use your closer in save situations. Shingo came close to blowing it. At least if you have your closer Hermanson in there, you can't second guess the move. He did come close to blowing it. But he came through when it mattered. You don't think that does anything for Shingo's confidence? As I said, even if we lose tonight, we're still up 9 games. I totally understand what Ozzie was doing. I don't see why you don't?
  13. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) So we should risk losing a game to see if Shingo can get another scoreless inning? There's a reason teams have closers. Last night was a save situation and that's what your closer is for. Jabroni. You gotta look at the big picture. We're not getting anywhere with a 4 man pen. The worst thing that could've happened tonight is we lose and are still up 9 games. I totally support Ozzie sending Shingo out there for the 13th. Even if he had blown it. We're gonna need him. No doubt about it.
  14. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) SI did their midseason MLB report in their most recent issues, and the following awards were won by the following people: AL Manager of the Year - Ozzie Guillen AL Rookie of the Year - Tadahito Iguchi Deserved or undeserved? I really don't like when guys have been playing pro ball in Japan for a few years but are still classified as a rookie when they come to MLB, so I don't think Tadahito deserves the ROY award. You have a point. But Ichiro won it. Until they make it a rule, so be it. Tadahito deserves it.
  15. I'm jumpin on the Leo Daigle wagon right now.
  16. This is all I asked for. Give the guy a chance to see if he's the real deal or not.
  17. Anybody think this will be the start that decides whether or not Kenny has to go out and get another starter? This is a HUGE start for B-mac.
  18. Sucks about Ben Davis. I hope he's able to play again soon.
  19. Nice to see Gload hasn't missed a beat. God I can't wait to get him back.
  20. This thread proves why absolutely none of us should, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever think about getting into the gm business.
  21. Buehrle, Garland, Garcia, Pollitte, Hermanson, Pods, A.J., are all deserving. Even if they don't all make it, they're all-stars in my mind.
  22. What a great win tonight. I needed this one bad after the last two games against the Flubs. I was depressed for a while..lol. Buehrle is just so good. I always feel like we're gonna win when he pitches. Dustin was flat out clutch. Nothing else to say. The offense needs to kick it up a notch. But i'm not too worried. Our June offensive numbers have been damn good. We still have a healthy 9 game lead.
  23. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Can some of you Illinois fans tell me if this was a good draft for the Jazz? What also should be expected of him and does he have the potential to be great? I know he's going to be called by Jazz fans "the next John Stockton" but what's a better comparison of him to any NBA player? Yall got the best pg in the draft, imo. He can do it all. He can shoot, dish, slash, and play defense. He's lost about 15 pounds. So he should be even quicker. If Kirelinko and Boozer are Healthy, I expect the Jazz in the playoffs in 06.
  24. Did the Pacers score this draft or what? Danny Granger at 17? He's exactly what they needed. I bet Pacer fans are happy they held on to the 17th pick now. Just think, you would have scrubs like Deaven George and Slava Medvendenko if they had traded it... Also, the Warriors had a terrific draft. They're gonna be so good next year.
