  1. We didn't lead the league in era in 2000 as the Cards do. We sure as hell couldn't play defense in 2000 like the Cards do. The Cards aren't just a bunch of muscle heads that hit a lot of hr's. They're a great ALL AROUND team.
  2. He just hit #700 in the 3rd inning of tonights game against the Padres. Love him or hate him, he's simply amazing.
  3. To back up Garner? Who are their other rb's?
  4. Damn, a lil jumpy are we? I wasn't speaking for everybody. A good portion of us "including myself" wasn't sure that Rowand could play everyday. And he's proven us wrong. So it's a lil pre-mature for anybody to say for sure that Gload can't play everyday. Calm down Killer.
  5. I don't know how I feel about Gload as our everyday 1st basemen. But remember, most of us thought that Aaron Rowand wasn't an everyday player. And that's been beyond a shadow of a doubt put to rest.
  6. I'll take Beckett and Burnett. Those two are straight up sick when they're healthy.
  7. They beat the Expos 6-3
  8. No problem. I think I speak for all Sox fans when I say we're forever in debt to the Marlins for beating the Cubs last October. I don't know what I woulda done had the Slubs gotten to the series. Probably give up baseball. The least we can do is support them now.
  9. This is a tough loss to swallow. Damn I hate being a Chicago sports fan
  10. He's got to cut that s*** out. Just catch the damn ball and get back to the line of scrimmage.
  11. Cubs lose 7-6. So the Marlins and Astros pick up a game.
  12. I'm really startin to hate the nba. Thank god for College football and the Bears.
  13. If the Marlins do get in they would be my pick to take it all. There's something magical about that team once they're in post-season play. Their first 4 starters are as good as any in the game. Their bullpen is much stronger then it was last year with Mota and Benitez. They're probably just as good offensively as they were last year. I hope they get in.
  14. Bonds might be the best EVER. I never saw Ruth, Dimaggio, Williams, Mays, Mantle or any of the all-time greats from the past. But what this guy does every single night is beyond legendary. Has any hitter in the history of baseball ever been feared the way Bonds is? This guy gets about 2 or 3 good pitches to hit a game. Yet he still hits for a ridiciolous high average with 40+ hr's every year. Could you imagine if he was in a line-up like the Cards or Yankees?
  15. Why do people keep saying Contreras has had NO success? 7-2 with a 3.30 era, including a breathtaking September last year isn't success? Only gave up 4 hr's in over 70 innings pitched? Held teams to a .202 batting average? Wow. I don't see any Success at all. Sure he's been inconsistent this year. But he's had some really good starts to go along with the bad ones. The package and potential is there. I'm estatic that we have him.
  16. You're right, I feel dirty.
  17. Fields is really heating up
  18. 23 is kinda old for A-ball. What's the story on Tracey?
  19. Not that I give a damn. But if i'm Jim Hendry, The first thing I worry about is getting Clement signed. After probably Zambrano, he's been their best starter. Any kinda decent run support and he has atleast 13 wins.
  20. He's hittin .250 as a Southsider. I'll be more than happy with that.
  21. lol. I was wondering what you were talking about. It's ok though.
  22. Koch by a mile. I'm glad we got rid of both though. We got some nice pieces in return. Plus, we freed up some money.
  23. He's already pitched more innings this year then any other.
  24. I hardly think his slump had anything to do with what we did to him. Like somebody said, he's probably got a tired arm.
