I'm thinking both Quentin and Konerko end up with more than 30 HRs, and Quentin will get close to 40. Paulie will have another great year, batting around .290, 33 HRs, and 101 RBIs. Dunn will improve but still have an off year. .225 BA, 21 HRs, 79 RBIs Humber will continue to pitch well. 13 wins and a 4.05 ERA Rios will continue to disappoint at the plate. .240, 14 HRs, 54 RBIs Lillibridge plays more but still in a platoon role. Ends up with 12 HRs Sox are close enough at the trade deadline to try to improve, but KW won't be able to do much. Danks is traded, however, for prospects. Ozzie offends someone. ESPN, still upset over the White Sox sweeping the Red Sox, ceases baseball coverage and concentrates on the MLS and the WNBA.

With the season just over 1/3 done, and the White Sox surprising many of us so far (not in a good way for the most part), let's have some off day fun and make some new predictions. Who will be the HR leader? How many HRs will Dunn end up hitting? How many wins will Humber have? How many wins will the Sox end up with? And so on... What're your thoughts?

Humber once again. I think we can say he's for real. If he ends up in the pen, this board will explode.

Aside from the bad bunting this team executes, even when a bunt works they still can't get the runs in. How many times have we seen a runner of second or third with 1 or 0 outs and get no runs? Way too often. So, even when Pierre gets a bunt down and moves a guy to second or third, that runner seems to die on the basepads anyway. Not sure what my point is except that the bunt means nothing if the timely hitting isn't there.

I just don't understand this thread. Well, I understand the frustration that we are all feeling about this team and their inability to hit when it's necessary. But to explain the poor play by insinuating a haunting? And a haunting of a guy who played pretty well for this team? Okay, okay, yes he trailed off towards the end, but overall his performance was more than acceptable. He was a DH and a power hitter. And he certainly did work counts, just look at the walks. Dunn is killing this team right now, but he's not alone. It would avtually be nice for Dunn to be possessed by the ghost of Thome right now. At least he'd have a batting average over .200.

One homerun a return to form does not make, but that HR by Dunn last night was a bomb. Of course he hit it off Tomko. Maybe that'll boost his confidence?

Considering what Dunn's expected BA was, there's plenty of time for him to improve. But there's no doubt he's struggling mightily. He will have to turn it around quickly in order to hit even 30 HRs. If he ends up with 650 plate appearances and continues on this pace he'll end up with 105 hits, 37 2Bs 15 HRs, and 78 RBIs. The hits and HRs would be career lows when he has at least 600 PAs. Oddly enough though it would be a career high for 2Bs. I certainly don't see Dunn ending with stats that poor, but I'd think his HR total will be closer to 28-30 instead of 40+ as we had expected/hoped.

Getting to .500 is the main goal right now. Worrying about how far back they are in the loss column is a little premature. Eleven games back in the loss column at the end of July...well then we could worry some more.

I've been quietly supportive of Adam Dunn all season, maybe even an apologist. But he just looks completely lost at the plate right now. It seems like once he gets two strikes on him (which happens quickly) he's almost a shoe in to strike out. I don't know if I'd boo him yet, but I wouldn't disagree with those that do. It's particularly disturbing that the part-time playing, slight Lillibridge has as many HRs as Dunn. And I wouldn't be surprised if he passes Dunn soon. Provided Ozzie does the right thing and keeps Lillibomb playing.

Jackson or Danks would make the most sense to trade. You're right that Jackson wouldn't command as much because he's pricey and will be pricey to re-sign. Honestly, though, I wonder how much the Sox could get from either without attaching another player.
