QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) I'm pinning this loss on the pathetic losers and coaches on this team. Wow. I don't know. It seems to me that the players don't care. I know that's not the truth, but this team is unwatchable right now. It's like they're going out there expecting to get beat. And their expectations are coming true. I don't know what Ozzie or Walker can even do for these guys right now.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) For the love of baseball... please win. Just need a 7 game win streak to make it all better. A one game winning streak would even be nice right about now.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) Instead of me having to respond to each and every post I enjoy (although I do like padding my post count right now in hopes of getting to 15,000 soon), can we get a function on here like Facebook where I can just "like" a post? pittshoganerkoff likes this

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 10:08 AM) Two things. 1) I cannot stress enough how good "The Killing" is... 2) Tonight Phillip plays the race card on "Survivor". I think it's the best show in a long time. AMC has done it right again.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) Are you sure he wasn't scheduled to only throw 15 pitches? And he was required to give up three runs. It's a confidence builder. Build him up, tear him down, and if there's time build him up again.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 08:54 AM) He is Mike Ditka. He had one fantastic season followed by several years of disappointing teams. He needs to go. 2005 is long gone. I gotta agree with you here. It seems to me that Ozzie has been given a long leash because of 2005. Might be time to cut the leash and let him go.

It's way too early to throw in the towel, but it is quite depressing right now. I could barely watch last night's game. As a matter of fact, I think I only watched about three innings. The offense is non-existent, the starting pitching is spotty at best, and the bullpen is a crapshoot. I'm sure it'll turn around, but will they be good enough to win the division? The news about Peavy is very disappointing, but the team hasn't has Peavy since July. Humber has done an okay job, and hopefully he can keep doing so. I would not be surprised if Peavy doesn't return before June. And when he does, I'm beginning to doubt he'll be the pitcher he once was. I'm not worried about Dunn. He'll come around and end up with numbers around his career average. I'm concerned about the chemistry. It seems like the team can't all play well together. If the offense is good, the pitching and defense is bad. If the starting pitching is on, the bullpen blows it. If the offense and pitching are winning the game, the defense is dropping balls. The only time they play the same is when they all play poorly.
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) I don't know. I kind of agree with this thread. Dunn reminds me of one of those guys at the tail end of his career who just signed his last big contract and decided to cash it in. I don't blame him. I'd probably do the same, but I guess that's why it was a dumb contract to give out in the first place. He's 32...and a DH. I wouldn't say he's at the tail end of his career. And I really don't think he's mailing it in.
  9. Probably a little early in the season for all the gloom and doom, but it is hard to watch sometimes.
  10. Possibly worst...thread...ever For that matter, Thornton is garbage, Sale is a waste of a jersey (extra-slim), and Morel should be waived. Dunn will be fine. And by fine, he'll hit around .240 with upwards of 40 HRs.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 01:58 AM) I ask this again ... why do some of you care about Lastings Milledge so much? The guy is a nobody. Maybe Buehrle and Paulie told Ozzie to drop the guy after his early-season butcher jobs in the OF. Lastings wasn't the answer. Now if/when we dump Teahen I'll be even happier. I think it's a matter of how well he played in the spring and earned a spot on the team. Now suddenly he's gone, and one would think that there's more to it than his lack of good play in the field. I personally don't see how Lillibridge offers more to the team...except on defense, and maybe that's the reason, but I have my doubts. Milledge has been a guy that has a ton of talent/potential, but due to his behavior in years past hasn't become the player he could have. Now it seems like he's failed on another team, whether it be because of bad defense or bad behavior. It's too bad.
  12. I wish I could have seen Jackson pitch. Sounds like he was in rare form. Or, maybe that's going to his form for the season?
  13. I would think there is probably more to the story. He was pretty brutal in the field, but he's a better hitter than Lillibridge.
  14. Quentin looks like a man possessed. I know it's early, but he's showing signs of 2008 TCQ...maybe even better .
  15. What will Ozzie do to fill the hole? Quentin to DH and Milledge to the OF? Or Konerko to DH and Teahen to 1B (shudder)?
  16. Missing 5 days doesn't sound too bad. So, no DL I assume?
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 02:34 AM) Time to get some fresh blood in the game thread. Sox aren't going to lay down and be swept by the Kansas City M'F'n Royals! In typical gamethread fashion for me, I will now insult the other team/pitcher. While also offering a picture of an attractive female. You're welcome. Thank you for the picture.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 11:19 PM) Maybe I'll have the watch the 2nd episode of The Killing if you guys think it was as good as you say. I watched the second episode last night, and I still think it's one of the best shows on TV. And it's easily one of the best new shows in a long time. Very character driven and atmospheric without being slow. It will be interesting to see if they can retain it for the entire season, since the season revolves around one case.
  19. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) FOr the record, I never connected the two either until just now. WOW! I didn't either. Talk about two different ends of the spectrum.

Caught the premiere of The Killing last night. In my opinion, it was one of the best starts to a new show in a long time. I hope it stays this good.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) 3 at bats in and I'm already at the point that I'd rather soil myself then miss a Dunn PA.
  22. Mna I wish I could see this game!
