What's a worse scenario?
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 1, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) What the team is doing right now will set the franchise back 20 years. I agree...provided nothing is done come the trade deadline. It's going to take a major turnaround right now to get this team back into contention. I'm actually starting to believe that there will a fire sale. If it's done right and they collect some good young players for the future, I'm okay with that. I'm certainly not okay with what this team is looking like right now.

Great job! Totally original.

Predict the hits tonight against C.C.
7 hits and 2 runs in 7 innings. Sox hit the bullpen a little better and eek out a 4-3 win.

Rosenthal on Ozzie
He's proven himself to be better at strategy this year...so far. He will make some bonehead moves, and that's what will bother me more than his emotional explosions or tweets. Right now the players aren't playing well. The pitching has come around the past three games (Buehrle made only one BIG mistake), but the hitting is still lacking. That's not Ozzie's fault.

Hello, this is J4L
I was slightly hammered one night and asked in a post what would be a good new user name for me. I threw out a few suggestions, and shipps took the liberty of creating one for me...combining the suggestions I tossed out there. Now I like the name.

White Sox (Buehrle) v. Yankees (Tub O' Goo)
This game could be the antithesis of the first two. I'm hoping Buehrle is sharp, but history shows the Yankees hit him well. Our hitters should be able to hit Fats Domino. I wouldn't be surprised to see 12-15 runs combined.

Against all odds, it finally happened...
You can't but like Lillibridge...as a person. From what I've seen of his Twitter posts he seems to have a great sense of humor. Now with those two ridiculous catches, I can't help but want to see him play more often. He's probably a lifetime utility player, and that's fine as long as he fills that role like he has been this year. And speaking of utility players, Teahen has been playing fairly well this year.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) That's one of the best things in sports, the unlikely hero, if only for one game. Like Geoff Blum.

Your favorite defensive play since 2000
Lillibridge's outstanding plays are fresh in my mind, but I don't know if we'll ever see a play like Buehrle's between the legs ridiculousness.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!
Floyd was top notch tonight. Konerko was Konerko. And Lillibridge was unbelievable for two straight plays. These past two games have gotten me interested again!

White Sox (Floyd) v. Yankees (Nova) 6:05pm
Brent Lillibridge! After the first catch I saw "Wow!" After the second catch I said "Holy s***!" Unbelievable. Should be 2 web gems on Baseball Tonight.

Humber
Regardless of what pitches he threw when and to who, what impressed me was his confidence. He never seemed shaken or nervous. Even after losing the no hit bid he came back and continued to pitch well.
-
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
I turned the game on during the 5th inning and was surprised to see the Sox winning. I was damn near floored when I saw Humber had a no hitter going. I didn't think he would be able to get the no hitter (there's got to be a ton of pressure in Yankee Stadium). But I was extremely impressed with his performance. It was nice to hear the announcers actually acknowledge how well he was pitching, although they were praising Burnett even more. Santos looked good. I think he needs to be the closer. Remember last year that his pitching faltered a bit towards the end. I wonder if that was a result of a lot of innings. Maybe being in the closer role would cut down on his innings and allow him to remain sharp all year.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) It would make no sense to win 3 of 4. The Yankees feast on teams playing as s***ty as the White Sox. I'd be more than satisfied with 2 of 4. Something has to wake this team up. Maybe it was being outscored 21-3 this weekend.

Tornado Hitting St. Louis Airport
This is a pretty scary video of the tornado hitting the airport. Look way down the corridor and you can see people scrambling like crazy. That must have been quite a fright. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/2...t-louis-airport

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) You're telling me it's difficult for you to have faith when the team is playing .364 baseball? Exactly. Now, it they were playing .367 baseball, I might feel a little better.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) Yeah just go ahead and start the new panic threads and get a jump on things. I was being sarcastic (sorry about the lack of green), but it's hard to have a good feeling at all about this series.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 12:18 PM) We could also just tip our cap after we lose. To make it easier, we should just tip our cap now and get it over with.

2011 TV Thread
Another outstanding episode of The Killing last night. The character development of Rosie's parents is top notch.

What would you do if you ran the White Sox?
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) Overreactions? We are a half game of out being in 30th out of 30 MLB teams. It's early, but it's not that early any more. Six games below .500 and losing games like the past three have been lost...things are ugly and will get much uglier this week. If the Sox take 2 of 4 it'll be a shock and an upset. A sweep by the Yankees should realistically trigger a firing or two, but we all know it won't happen...the firing, not the sweep.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) He is rumored to be on a diet and thought that he could watch a few games in person in order to trigger some vomiting.

White Sox vs. Detroit 12:10 on WGN
Outscored 21-3 in an easy sweep by the Tigers. The Yankees series is going to be ugly.
