  1. Career year for Konerko. .301 42 homers 131 rbi
  2. Since we finally have a true back-up, we could see Toby play quite a bit. Therefore... .278 10 homers 47 rbi
  3. My first thought when I heard about the Garcia deal was that it had to be a lead in to something else. A-Rod? Maybe. Or maybe something we haven't considered...like Garland for Todd Ritchie and a PTBNL. All kidding aside, I'd love to see A-Rod here. I think he wants out of NY and would do well here. But will it happen? I'll believe it when I see it.
  4. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) are we watching a baseball game or a wrestling match? lol Somebody gets drilled, a wrestling match could break out
  5. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) Mega Powers: Hogan & Savage Mega Maniacs: Hogan & Beefcake Okay...that's right.
  6. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) That was Hogan and Beefcake. Sure? I thought it was Savage.
  7. Remember the Mega Maniacs? Hogan and Savage?
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) Holy spiff, now that I think about it, Hawk and JR are very, very similar. Have you ever seen them together? Hmmm...
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) OH MY GOD!! THE AUDACITY! Yeah, and what's with the damn cowboy hat?
  10. Sandy must have had double knee replacement. He could barely run three years ago.
  11. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) I can't believe anyone would complain about complaints about Hawk in this thread, but not complain about the thread being highjacked to talk about Hulk Hogan. I could change my nickname to Orndorff873?
  12. Really, though, I thought Sandy was retired. I was listening to the radio and heard Farmer say Alomar and I thought He was just rambling...you know, drifting back a few years.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) How about Mr. Nanny? Ugh.
  14. I was in grade/middle school when Hulkamania was at its peak. Classmates were always asking me if I could get his autograph for them.
  15. A win against the Royals isn't a win against the Tigers, Yankees, or Mud Hens, but it would be something...something for Mark to build of off.
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) Fathom was talking about Col. Hogan, Hogan's Heroes. Of course. I was going to throw in the totally obscure reference to the racquetball great Marty Hogan.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) You share the name of the greatest living American....please don't ever think you're a fool. Hulk Hogan? Can't be Paul Hogan. Ben, maybe?
  18. I may sound like a complete fool, but when did the Sox acquire (re-acquire) Sandy? Has he been in their minors? Or was he a signing?
  19. You're right, it is a good division. But until last year, with the Sox winning it all, the AL Central got very little attention. Now it seems there's a lot of focus here.
  20. ...a product of the Sox's success last year and Detroit's rebirth? Two years ago, the Twins current record of 45-35 would be nearly the best, if not the best, in the division. I wonder if what the Sox did last year, combined with the Jim Leyland re-fueled Tigers team's playing has artificially created a seemingly great division. I know, I know, only three teams have winning records, but their all playing good baseball (the Twins as of late anyway). I do think that the Tigers will be there all year. They are not a flash in the pan. I do think, however, that the Sox can win the division. Regardless, it looks as if both the Tigers and Sox may be playing in October. I guess I'm just surprised to see two, and almost three, teams from the AL Central in the hunt. Any thoughts? Anybody agree that Detroit is the real thing? Is Jim Leyland a big part of that?
  21. Maybe Crede shouldn't cut his hair! 5-0!
