If Eck went like two months straight without giving up a run, then I might have to reconsider. How about OBP allowed? Batting average against?

Who is any good in that rotation? I figured that Affeldt would be somewhat decent this year, but even he has had some issues. I can't think of anyone in that rotation that I'd want on the Sox with the exception of Affeldt. I'm not really sold on Brian Anderson.

Gagne went a full season last year without a blown save. That is easily the best season ever for a closer. Easily.

I don't know. I don't like it. You know that he'll still be rooting for the Cubs if they make the playoffs, whereas, most of your "die-hard" and "devoted" Sox fans want the Cubs to get slaughtered.

Eck an Mo have put up numbers that are just mind-boggling. They were easily the two best closers of all time before Gagne came along. And I usually take current players for granted when we're talking about "Best Ever" at their positions. I could only think of three guys that I'd say that about at the current time: Rodriguez, Bonds, and Gagne.

I read about this in the paper on the day that Miller started against the Sox. It's very disturbing, to say the least.

That is just beyond pathetic. I wonder where the next closest team would rank over that time span. It's probably the Devil Rays with like 7 to 10 wins. Even Shawn Estes won damn near 10 games over that time span.....
