  1. I thought that Capuano was a product of his home park going into 2006, but then he made me feel kinda stupid last year. Hell, a certain cokehead from the 80s even said something that appered to be correct for once, which just totally blew my mind. But check out the road stats this year. The guy is sporting a 6.40 ERA, a 1.86 WHIP, and opponents are batting .336 against him. I think that I can do better than that with my 65 MPH fastball.
  2. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) I'd love to see Dukes on the team. I see that nitetrain is still droppin' gems around these parts.
  3. As the great Terry Boers once said, there are no parameters for stupidity.
  4. There are still way too many of them pale-faced muhfukkkas on the Blue Jays, though. No, I'm just kidding. I'm sure that Vernon likes white people.
  5. Are people really talking s*** about Tyrus and Thabo? Those guys are a couple of freaks. Major assets. So yeah, what have we learned? Skiles can't coach worth a s***, Gordon is fundamentally retarded, etc. It sounds like we've covered this ground before. Y'all let me know when some new information comes out.
  6. I'd never disrespect my wife like that. We should flip the script here and see how offended y'all would be if your freaking partner in life had some dude's schlong in her face at chippendale's or whatever. If you tell me that you have no problem with it, you're either lying or you're just flat out stooopid. The latter of the two options is not uncommon, believe me. People are selfish, so I strive not to be. I'll probably move out to the mountains in a few years.
  7. Tyson with 22 points and 22 rebounds? God damn does that guy suck. What a bust....
  8. Durrrrrrrr, check page 2 of the catch-all thread. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) Closers are a dime a dozen. Pure geniusness.
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 04:03 AM) Really his numbers are no surprise based on his Chicago numbers with the additional minutes he is getting with the Hornets. Willie knew all along. You're an odd bird around these parts based on your basketball smarts. Overall Rebounding 1. Kevin Garnett 12.6 2. Tyson Chandler 12.5 3. Dwight Howard 12.1 Offensive Rebounding 1. Tyson Chandler 4.4 2. Emeka Okafor 4.1 3. Ben Wallace 3.9 oopsies... These are some of my favorite threads: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...51983&st=15 http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51548 http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49475 http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...46811&st=90 http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46469 There's so much more, but I only went back to the beginning of 2006. I do this for comedic value, and also because b****es need to own up to what they say on here. I know that basketball is incredibly confusing, though.
  10. I haven't been checking these boards lately, so I had no idea that we were going to have a draft at 7:00 on a Saturday night? That ain't gonna fly with my wife, fellas. I've been involved in fantasy leagues for a while now, and I've never heard of a draft being held on a Saturday night. You're gonna have some no-shows, without question. It's only common sense, or is it? QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 01:48 AM) Btw, why draft so early? League 1 is doing theirs on the 12th, league 3 is doing theirs on the 18th. Our draft is on March 3rd, and we're doing it on a Saturday night. God damn man, I wish that I'd have checked this thread sooner.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 05:35 AM) Tonight on the CBS News, this man drove home without incident!
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 07:22 PM) I sure hope that the comparison wasnt being made between Chandler and Bill Russell. Please tell me that wasnt the case, because that would be ridiculous. You and Sleepy both completely missed the point. Check the post that I was responding to. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 07:18 PM) Yes it is, and he is a good role player. Not a star, but a good role player. He can be valuable to a team that already has offensive talent and scorers, because Tyson is neither. If this was baseball, you'd be telling me that pitching and defense rules all. I don't know how basketball would be any different from a philosophical standpoint. I don't know why I torture myself. I'll step away from the computer now.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 07:08 PM) But there is no way, none, at all, that a player who doesn't score 20 a game should be a max contract player. Bill Russell would NOT have been a max contract player if he played today. Dan Majerle >>>> Bill Russell I gotcha. From a philosophical standpoint, I might as well be a martian on these here boards.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 06:57 PM) contract Potential rebounding champions that play outstanding help defense out of the C slot are max contract players. Tyson is a relative bargain. I'll never understand why people mention his contract.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 06:38 PM) I mean hes so good he has pulled his team right into a sub-.500 record. Basketball is a team game. Basketball is a team game. Basketball is a team game. It will soak in eventually.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 05:20 PM) Tyson Chandler would be a lock to win the rebounding contest if they had one Nice one. Back in January, Phil Jackson asked Andrew Bynum to study Chandler footage so that he could learn the nuances of rebounding. Phil might have flaked out a tad in recent years, but the dude still knows his basketball. He makes Skiles look like a grade school coach. But then again, who doesn't?
  17. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 05:06 PM) He was mediocre prior to the last couple of weeks...now let's see him do it for an extended period of time... Mediocre prior to the last couple of weeks? Come on... He's been leading the NBA in offensive rebounding pretty much the entire year, and he's never dipped below 11 rebounds per game. And if we're talking about help defense out of the C slot, he's been awesome. Check the current stats: Overall Rebounding Per Game 1) Kevin Garnett 12.6 2) Tyson Chandler 12.2 3) Dwight Howard 11.9 Offensive Rebounds Per Game 1. Tyson Chandler 4.1 2. Ben Wallace 3.9 3. Emeka Okafor 3.9 I said before the season that Tyson would lead the NBA in offensive rebounding, but I never could have predicted that he'd be in position to lead the NBA in overall rebounding with monsters like KG, Dwight Howard, Emeka Okafor, and Tim Duncan in the fold.
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 08:10 AM) EDIT: And hey, DARKO'S BREAKING OUT. That's damn right. You shouldn't have just given him to me in the soxtalk fantasy league. And oh by the way, I'm sure that everyone is shocked at what Tyson Chandler has been doing, correct? I'd throw up one of those triple , but I wouldn't bite sleepy's style like that. I might not win the fantasy league, but this is the best rebounding that I'll ever have: Dwight Howard Emeka Okafor Tyson Chandler Andrew Bynum Darko Milicic Al Jefferson It's a beautiful thing, is it not?
  19. I'd say ABB in a landslide, but it's almost entirely due to the bootlegs. Some of their studio stuff is terrific, but you can't ignore all of the classic jamming sessions (Idlewild South Outtakes, Gatlinburg Tapes) and legendary concerts (Atlanta 1970, Stonybrook 1970, etc).
  20. QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 12:58 AM) How do you know what their reason is? I think that he has a degree in psychology. But then again, you don't need to have a psych degree in order to understand human behavior. 7th graders don't have the intellectual training that is required to take a stand against the government, against religion, etc. If they're choosing not to stand, they're either [A] attention-starved or under the influence of some straight-up dickheaded parenting. If one out of every ten 7th grade males even knew what a wet dream was, I'd be shocked. These dudes are sperming in their pants and they don't even know it. Talk about a bunch of space cadets.
