Yeah, but she had that one great duet with Don Johnson... I say let her live.

Wow, how morbid is this? I want to see Barbra Streisand before she dies.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) It seems like a good time to stop dying on mountains. I agree. If you're looking for adventure, go to Wisconsin Dells. Stay the f*** away from the mountains.

RIP to an all-time great. This guy absolutely ran the show back in the late 60s/early 70s from a soul/funk/jazz fusion standpoint. And from a sampling standpoint, nobody was more important to golden age hip hop than this guy. He is a god in old school and late 80s/early 90s hip hop circles. Some of my favorites: Bring It Up (from "Sings Raw Soul" 1967) Soul Pride (from "The Popcorn" 1969) Give It Up Or Turn It Loose (from "Ain't It Funky" 1970) Ain't It Funky (from "Ain't It Funky" 1970) Nose Job (from 'Ain't It Funky" 1970) Funky Drummer (1970 Single) Funky Drummer Reprise (1970 Single) Give It Up Or Turn It Loose Remix (1970 Single) Get Up, Get Into It, Get Involved (1970 Single) Super Bad (1970 Single) Get On The Good Foot (from "Get On The Good Foot" 1972) The Boss (from "Black Caesar" 1973)

Police raid Tank Johnson's Home

QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) Tank had this guy clipped because he rolled on him when talking to the cops. Posse was a snitch and dead men can't testify. Tank being there with Posse at the time of the murder is the perfect alibi............I mean why would he have the guy killed when he's out with him? At least that's how Tank will sell it to the PO-lice. Here man, I fixed it for you. And for the love of god, turn off the television. You've seen one too many episodes of Law & Order. -

I'm surprised that Jesse Jackson isn't on K-Dub's ass seeing as how we only have like one black dude on the 40 man roster. What a guy that Vernon Wells is. Way to isolate yourself from the vast majority of your teammates. Chris Dudley never pulled anything like this.... Don't sleep on Dudley. -

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) One of his buddies had a half ounce of weed on him, which is beyond tame. That was the initial report, but they said on the news last night that his buddy actually had two ounces on him, which means that he's a dealer. Nobody carries two ounces around unless they intend to distribute some of it, whereas, a half ounce would qualify as a personal stash. -
It's all nerds, man. It's the same deal on myspace, although there are some exceptions here and there.

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) I think he needs to get new friends. I think that Tank's friends need to get new friends. Tank's the one that owns automatic rifles and what not. One of his buddies had a half ounce of weed on him, which is beyond tame. -

Houston not the only team after Garland

QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 04:20 AM) I thought wins and losses didn't matter when analyzing starting pitchers... Labeling a guy as a .500 pitcher is just another way of saying that he's mediocre. I think that Dick knows better. Wins and losses are team stats, of course. Like, when Roger Clemens loses a 1-0 game, you don't pin that on him. The Astros lose those games as a team. It's a simple concept that a lot of people can't grasp, for whatever reason. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 04:27 AM) Well, I'm glad not everyone completely discounts their value. Oh, you let me down. -

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) As some of you might remember, I'd ripped my knee apart in a post-practice accident (Soccer) and ripped everything up. Now that I'm almost at 100%, and have full diagnosis', I thought I'd share what was wrong and what's up. I cracked my femur bone, as well as the kneecap. Not fully, but slightly. (They're waiting to see if my cartilage falls off near the crack and then I'll require surgery.) I tore my menial meniscus. And I sprained every ligament in my knee. Not tore, but sprained them all combined. Not too bad, and the only one giving me substantial trouble is the cracked bone. It goes, Crrrrrrrrk all the time and if I move too fast, it aches like a bad ache. Fun with words. I'm almost fine, though, and I can run as hard as I used to and do all the things I enjoy. I find myself baseball sliding around on tile and merely enjoying my regained abilities. so thanks to everyone who'd been concerned and shared kind words. Good to hear.

QUOTE(whitesox07champs @ Nov 23, 2006 -> 05:14 AM) People in this country are so damn sensitive. Now I know it looks like Richards said the "N" word before anyone called him a "cracker" or a "white boy", but you see SO MANY comedians(mostly blacks and latinos) take shots at white people in the stands. And what do they do, they laugh and they dont take it as an insult. But everyone has become so sensitive over everything now a days. I see black and hispanic comedians taking shots at white people all the time, but it sure as hell ain't malicious. Can you see the difference? QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 23, 2006 -> 04:41 AM) Serenity now Insanity later That about sums it up.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) He's stuck around in this league because he's been a good, cheap 3rd/4th OFer type. I just think that this speaks volumes: 1999: SD 2000: CHC 2001: CHC 2002: BAL 2002: NYM 2003: BAL 2003: SD 2004: TEX 2005: TEX 2006: TEX He'd be a career AAA guy if not for his spectacular defense. That particular facet of his game has allowed him to survive on the MLB level. My opinion of his D is based on all of the Cubs games that I was forced to watch with buddies back in 2000-2001, plus all of our games against the Rangers over the past three seasons. I'd put him down as a valuable player on a championship squad due to the fact that he plays elite defense at what is perhaps the most crucial position on the field. I mean, he covers an endless amount of ground out there. You can live with bad defensive players at the corner OF slots with Matthews in the mix. He'd be a great investment at about 5 or 6 million per year.
