  1. QUOTE(shipps @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 08:15 AM) Your guy seems like a great fit physically for the Bulls, but is Pax going to go on the same route of drafting players that played for big time winning programs in this draft?Maybe he will change his drafting theory in light of what has gone down this year. I don't think there is a problem in his drafting philosophy (with the exception of not taking Aldridge.) I think his problem lies within not having the balls to make a trade. Where would the Bulls have been this year with Kevin Garnett? Or Kobe Bryant? Or Pau Gasol? Those are three guys who can put up some big numbers. Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich and Loul Deng, though I love them, are not in the league those three players are.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 08:12 AM) They do good stuff over there, and I think it's a pretty good view on us; Question 4 was the most interesting to me. I've never liked Crede, but Fields isn't a finished product. He might put up better offensive numbers, but he's quite a drop off defensively at the hot corner. I don't see a problem with him spending a few more months in AAA to iron out some of that so he can come up later in the season with a more polished approach. And to stay for good. Especially if they can't compete in a juggernaught division. Also, Danks adding a cutter is interesting. Not sure what it'll translate to for him, but the "reviews" are encouraging at least.
  3. I'm afraid to say I like this blog because the writer there will make a post that says, "White People Love This Blog Because They Love Making Fun of Themselves. That's Why They Love Black Comedians Who Make Fun of White People."
  4. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 21, 2008 -> 02:03 AM) He goes into people's houses at night and wrecks up the place! I heard he stuffs the sinks with toilet paper and leaves the faucet running all night. He calls himself "The Wet Bandit."
  5. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 10:45 PM) If I'm home and feeling kinky I like to use a swirling motion If you're not circumsized, do you pull back your skin? I'll hang up and listen for my answer Quote of the year?
  6. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 11:09 PM) I suppose I would look for a gym where hot/fit girls work out though. Yeah, what he said.
  7. I wonder what the street names are...
  8. QUOTE(juddling @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 11:15 AM) i haven't seen the article yet (usually get to the paper over lunch) but upon reading the title of this thread , my first thought was that Jay took his column and made a long plea to the heavens above that before the year was over Stoney would replace Hawk in the booth. I would have bet money that that was the subject. Upon hearing of the jist of the article....don't you think that if Stone felt he was going to be pressured into being a 'yes' man for Jerry then he wouldn't have bothered taking the job????? Likewise...Stone is liked because he presents the numbers (good and bad) and tells it like it is..so if JR was looking for a 'yes' man...why would he think Stone would be that guy????? Isn't that what an interview is for. Personally....I think it would be great to hear Stone's critique of the Sox through the good and bad times this year. He could easily fill those dead spots that Hawk leaves when the Sox hit that mid-summer 10 game losing streak and Hawk is pissed.........umm....not that the Sox will have a losing streak even half that long..lol I love those dead spots.
  9. I thought they should've dealt him in the '06 off-season, but what do I know?
  10. Tis not the router. I don't use a router, I connect directly. Either way, the PS3 is already on its way to Sony for repairs.

    Deep thoghts

This thread makes me question mankind.
  12. So my PS3 doesn't play MLB '08 The Show anymore. I even went as far to exchange copies of the game (got a brand new one) and it wouldn't work. The system just doesn't flat out recognize that the game is in it. It plays all other games without a problem. I was ranked 33 online, this sucks balls.

    LOST!!!!

This season has sucked hard so far.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 08:03 AM) Yeah, I do not experience any of those symptoms at all. Do you experience some of that when you drink as well? No.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) A. What does pot do to make you a better driver? B. Why doesn't that also make you a better surgeon? C. Is there something that makes you a worse surgeon, but a better driver? Everyone keeps talking about all the wonderful things that pot does, yet almost no one wishes to mention any negatives. One who used to smoke pot frequently, the negatives for myself are as followed: 1. Laziness. 2. Extreme appetite 3. Short term memory loss 4. Reduced motor skills (slower reaction time) 5. Paranoia 6. Sheltering (I wanted to be alone more often). I drove high off my ass plenty of times and there were a few occasions when I forgot where I was, where I was going, or even sometimes that I needed to stop at a red light. Sometimes I'd follow behind a car, totally zone out about how brilliant rainbows are and find myself breaking last second to avoid slamming the car in front of me. If I did actually concentrate on the road and all of it's triumphs, though, I was a better driver. I didn't speed. I didn't tail cars. I didn't take all the risks I do as while driving sober. I'd drive like an old grandma. However, this wasn't easy to do. As soon as something distracted me (like, McDonalds), I'd drive like a grandma with no court vision--no semblence of anything going on around me. Paranoia was bad at times. I didn't see red beasts coming out of the T.V. But sometimes, depending on the weed, it made me suicidal. I don't think this is widespread; perhaps more of a genetics thing because it does the same to my brother. I never actually walked to edge of the cliff, but I did have dark thoughts. This didn't last through the entire high. Usually the first stage (the first 10 minutes) was fantastic, then the next hour was Sylvia Plath night, and the rest of the high was mellow, let's eat some hot dogs and sit and relax. I smoked heavy for about a year and gained 22 pounds. I'm still trying to shed that off. The sheltered part may also be more genetic. I've always been a person that likes to be alone, so has my brother and dad. I have to know someone to be able to relax regardless of whether I'm high or not. Judging only from my experiences, it's a low risk drug. With proper regulations on it, I don't see the legalization of marjiuana becoming a major problem. Not as bad as alcohol, anyway.
  16. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) ^^^ How many would want their surgeon smoking a joint right before operating? How many would want their surgeon drinking right before operating? I don't know where this argument has gone because I'm not going to read through all the posts, but, c'mon. And if it came down to it, I'd rather a baked out surgen went through my insides than a wasted drunk one. If it were ever legalized, which I don't think it will be, they're not just going to say, "GET BAKED ALL YOU WANT! WHENEVER YOU WANT! WHERE YOU WANT!"
  17. QUOTE(GREEDY @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) If the Cubs are including Gallagher, it will be hard for KW to top that. He is a MLB ready starter that is most likely as valuable as Danks. I love Carlos Quentin, he will be the first LF for the Sox in more than a decade that has pop, can get on base and is above average in the field. BUT With all of that being said Brian Roberts is an extremely talented player. He is an offensive monster: his OBP is fantastic, he has a little power and not only is he fast but he is a great base runner. Also, his addition at the top of the order will force Ozzie to keep Jerry Owens out of CF. Anderson in CF takes the Sox from having the WORST oufield defense to being average and maybe even above average defensively. If Quentin/Richar are enough I would have to say this should be a no brainer for KW. Carlos Lee? I guess he wasn't above average in the field, but he was average enough. The ass in me kind of wants Carlos Quentin to suck balls because I don't understand the love here. A short clip of statistical averageness and there's a cream fest for him. I mean, yeah, I hope he's Babe Ruth out there... but...

    PS3

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 02:19 AM) Lol, if you build a good computer to begin with, when you upgrade you will definitely not have to spend 1000 dollars... not too mention nowadays with warehouse prices and all the rebates you can get.... cost has gone down. I like having both though personally, have a 360/wii and a good gaming pc. Tell me that when the computer is outdated in 4 years and I have the choice of buying a PS4 or a $1,000+ gaming PC. I understand the PC well enough to know that I'm perfectly content with the console market. I'll spend what I need to on a computer to get my basic essentials of Word, Internet, Music--and with my PS3 I still won't touch Gaming PC prices. Besides, you're talking about building a computer. I know how to do it, but it's not everyday knowledge. If you buy one stock, well, then, I might as well sell my left foot to get a good gaming PC. I envy the PC gamers to some degree, but it's just not a world for the budget conscious people.

    PS3

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 01:05 AM) Yeah but you can do a lot more than play video games on a computer lol. So yes, your going to pay more money on a pc than a ps3/360 but if you spend the money its going to be a lot better for gaming and so much more you can do besides games(like post on soxtalk ;p) It's still not worth the cost because upgrading will kill you. While a new console comes out every 4/5 years, you've probably got to upgrade computer parts every 2 years. And when you have to upgrade the major parts, you might as well buy a new computer, which will, again, run you about the cost of at least 2 PS3's. I don't disagree that the PC gaming market is impressive, but there's a reason there is a console market and a reason it does well, too.
  20. Who has MLB '08 for the PS3? I'd like to play some of you guys. I'm ranked 53 overall online. And does anyone know if it's cross-platform with the PS2? Can I play PS2 users online with the PS3?
  21. QUOTE(gosox41 @ Mar 9, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) Am I the only who thinks that KW is going to seriously undervalue Crede and give him away for a guy like this or that guy Cain in San Fran. IMHO, a team that wants to win now and needs a third baseman should give up a lot more then that. Joe is provin to be healthy and mobile. Sure he's a one year rental, but if you're in a win now mode you're getting a defensive stud wh ocan hit 30 HR's. Maybe I overvalue Joe but Joe is at least worth a good #3 starter or 2-3 very good propsects with one being a can't miss prospect. There's zero reason to trade Crede for an injured emergency starter...unless you're an idiot. The Sox have a chance to shore up their rotation or get some depth in the minors in case some of these older guys break down. Don't screw this up Kenny!!!!!! Bob I don't know about that and I don't know what the White Sox have his value set at, but I believe this board is undervaluing him. I don't think he's worth a can't miss prospect though.
