Scrubs setting moving Scrubs boss Bill Lawrence said his cancellation-defying comedy would undergo an extreme makeover in its ninth season, and, man, he wasn't kidding. When the show returns next winter, the action will shift from the hospital to the classroom and make med-school professors of John C. McGinley's Dr. Cox and Donald Faison's Turk. "It'll be a lot like Paper Chase as a comedy," Lawrence tells me. "It's going to be a different show. It'll still be life-and-death stakes, but if the show is just Scrubs again in the hospital with a different person's voiceover, it would be a disaster and people would be mad." Of course, Sacred Heart won't go away altogether. Although J.D.'s old stomping ground no longer will serve as the show's base of operations, the students will occasionally rotate through its halls -- and bump into many of its familiar faces. In addition to McGinley and Faison, both of whom are expected to be full-time regulars alongside a quartet of newbies (most of them playing students), Scrubs vets Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes and Ken Jenkins have agreed to make guest appearances. (Neil Flynn has a costarring role as Patricia Heaton's husband in the new ABC sitcom The Middle, so his name-challenged Janitor will be MIA.) "Med students in their first three years have to spend anywhere from 10 to 50 percent of their time at a hospital," Lawrence explains. "And that's when you'll see some of the [original cast members]. Continuity-wise, Sacred Heart will still exist with those people still working there." But Lawrence insists "half the cast, if not 60 percent of it," will be comprised of freshmen, one of which will be more recognizable than the rest. "[ABC] is really after us to hire a big name," he reveals. "So one of them will be fairly famous."

Kudos to Pixar for this story...... HUNTINGTON BEACH – Colby Curtin, a 10-year-old with a rare form of cancer, was staying alive for one thing – a movie. From the minute Colby saw the previews to the Disney-Pixar movie Up, she was desperate to see it. Colby had been diagnosed with vascular cancer about three years ago, said her mother, Lisa Curtin, and at the beginning of this month it became apparent that she would die soon and was too ill to be moved to a theater to see the film. After a family friend made frantic calls to Pixar to help grant Colby her dying wish, Pixar came to the rescue. The company flew an employee with a DVD of Up, which is only in theaters, to the Curtins’ Huntington Beach home on June 10 for a private viewing of the movie. The animated movie begins with scenes showing the evolution of a relationship between a husband and wife. After losing his wife in old age, the now grumpy man deals with his loss by attaching thousands of balloons to his house, flying into the sky, and going on an adventure with a little boy. Colby died about seven hours after seeing the film. With her daughter’s vigil planned for Friday, Lisa Curtin reflected about how grateful she is that Pixar – and "Up" – were a part of her only child’s last day. “When I watched it, I had really no idea about the content of the theme of the movie,” said Curtin, 46. “I just know that word ‘Up’ and all of the balloons and I swear to you, for me it meant that (Colby) was going to go up. Up to heaven.” Pixar officials declined to comment on the story or name the employees involved. Full story

For those who care about such things....from Entertainment Weekly.com Bradley Cooper may star as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck and Liam Neeson as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith in 20th Century Fox's long-awaited movie adaptation of '80s action series The A-Team, Variety reports. Joe Carnahan is already set to direct, with production beginning in late August for a June 2010 release. Faceman is the role originally played by Dirk Benedict; Hannibal was George Peppard's character. The script will retain the series' premise -- four war vets wrongly convicted of armed robbery escape from military prison to carry out Robin Hood-like missions -- but will hew closer to a Mission: Impossible tone. The roles of "Howling Mad" Murdock and "B.A." Baracus are yet to be cast.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) Really?!!? I can't believe JK was cool with that decision. i thought i read somewhere that it was partially HER idea. if it was just one movie then (like usual) they would have to have cut out a bunch of stuff. A book/movie wrapping up the series you don't want anything left out.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 04:18 PM) Hangover getting awesome reviews. Love it when a killer comedy is out in the summer. Tribune gave it 1 and a half stars...just like Land of the Lost

QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 02:27 PM) Sure....you watched Diggstown. I will agree that Diggstown was the only movie in your pile of VHS tapes that you could mention here without being censored. BTW, Diggstown...great movie with a young Heather Graham. She got the part because she was dating James Woods at the time. i also found the three original star wars movies and the first two Indiana jones movies....it was a flashback to my youth.....

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 30, 2009 -> 04:54 PM) Is this a movie with real people, an animated movie, or comic book? I'm confused. A comic book

not sure about this idea but what the hey....... It’s like the old saying goes: “This might just be crazy enough to work.” BOOM! Studios, which is already heading a coup with its licensing of the Incredibles and the Muppet Show (as well as great series like Unthinkable and Irredeemable), now has one more weapon in its arsenal: Die Hard’s John %@$#%@#in McClane. According to solicits, Die Hard: Year One is due out in August, and will go back in time to 1976 to explore John’s first year in the police force, a la Batman Begins or Casino Royale. Howard Chaykin will be writing, while Steven Thompson will be drawing, which already sounds to be completely awesome, especially considering how often people in the comics industry talk about Die Hard. Of all the things for a porn star to die from....i wouldn't have guessed heart disease.... LOS ANGELES -- An autopsy has revealed that adult film star Marilyn Chambers died of the effects of a cerebral hemorrhage and aneurysm related to heart disease. The Los Angeles County coroner's office released the results of toxicology tests Monday. The tests also indicated the presence of two prescription drugs in Chambers' system, but not in excess amounts. An autopsy was performed on Chambers April 14, two days after she was found dead at her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Canyon Country. She was 56. Chambers helped bring hard-core adult films into the mainstream when she starred in 1972's "Behind the Green Door." Her appearance in the film cost the then-aspiring model and actress her job as Procter & Gamble's Ivory Snow girl.

I like how the writers of How I Met Your Mother remembered to use the goat incident in last night's season finale since it was now Ted's 31st birthday and not his 30th.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 11, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) That interview left me really disappointed. It sounds like they're already making excuses for not explaining things or things that make no sense and attributing them to "mythology" instead of "plot holes". I understand about making changes as the season goes on....i mean....the producers have said in the past the the role of Ben was orginally for only 4 or 5 episodes. When they saw what a great actor they had for the role they expanded it and wove it into the story. If something works (like Ben) then get keep it....if it doesn't (Nikki and Paulo) then get rid of it. I also heard we get a quick update on what happened to Bernard and Rose. I guess we don't see them but they get a mention in the show tonight. I can't wait.

QUOTE (kev211 @ May 13, 2009 -> 10:34 AM) Yes it was. That ending was just wow. At least that's what i think..... Can't wait for second season of Fringe. Hope Fox treats it better than the first season. Doubt it but I hope.
