QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 05:08 AM) I always thought he was one of the better leadoff hitters in the game and isnt he a fan favorite in Boston? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's a fan favorite.... to girls in the 5-21 range. He's definitly one of the best, if not the best, leadoff hitters in the game. -
AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER

I just wanted to wish the people deserving of one, a Congratulations, and a good luck. I guess you can consider me back on your side now, although the likliness of that happening is slim to none. -

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 03:19 AM) "We have eight more wins to get, and they are going to have to tear the jerseys off of our back this year. Everyone here will fight until the last possible out. We have something very special going on here."----Aaron Rowand <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Take notes, fellas. Aaron Rowand is a class act. -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 05:14 AM) And now we get McCarver and Buck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. What a classless thread.

**Official 2005 High School Football Thread**

Maine South beat New Trier. New Trier's lackluster defensive backfield hung in there, and the defense as a whole was able to keep them in the game throughout. However, the offense failed to complete a first down in the first half minus a pass interference, and even with the run at the end of the game, completed only five passes with a figure I would guess resulted in a total yards gained of under a hundred. Can't win like that. Star Tyler Knight made the play of the game, not with his arm, but with his leg. With New Trier pressing, down 24-14 with 5 minutes to go, the ball was snapped over Knights head and the ball was rolling back close to the 10, Knight picked it up and booted it which made for a 60 yard differential. As for Knight, he really didnt impress me at all. He had three touchdown passes and all can be explained. The one right before the half, the time had expired, and I counted to five with the clock at "0:00" before the play got off. The refs made a huge blunder there. Then the pass was tipped, and went right into the hands of a Maine South reciever good for another touchdown. Just an all around bad game that New Trier didn't deserve to win, but if they meet again in the playoffs, I would bet money on New Trier winning if they are able to play up to their potential. -

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 04:20 AM) His 15 minutes are just about up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The guy is one of the best centerfielders in the game, his fifteen minutes are not up. However, its been every single series that he's come out with the same old bs, and if there are positives from my perspective as a Red Sox fan, its that today was Damons last game in a Red Sox uniform. -
QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Why get down on redandwhite? He's right. Ortiz's was a bomb and Manny's went pay past Pesky's Pole. Not a 250 foot shot like some people are calling it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am in no way flaming, although I knew if I made a post it would be percieved as such. Thanks Brian.

You guys have nothing to worry about. Still nothing has changed, Manny Ortiz carrying this offense and getting no help from anyone else.
-
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) funny how you show up now :headshake <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been here all along, what do you mean?
-
Steve, how do you explain the 400 foot mashed home run by Ortiz? Was that foul in any other park?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) underager!!! call the cops!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> tattle tail.

If you are taking any form of Test, it cannot be traced. Unless of course Major League Baseball is going to suspend you for having inflated testosterone levels which obviously won't happen. The point is, steroids will never be completely ridden from sports. There are always new kinds, new blockers, etc. being created and that process won't stop, ever.

and i'm drunk

Thanks ass, you just wasted all my booze I had on hand for if the Red Sox lose.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) Bry Nelson Honestly though, a player on Roids, coming back from getting off his cheater juice? Come on. Might as well call it the, we are happy you could actually hit the ball while not cheating award. BTW Wickman 2004-30G 30IP 14ER 26k's 0-2 13sv's 4.25 2005 64G 62IP 17ER 41k's 0-4 45sv's 2.47 2002 20 sv's 4.46 Pretty good comeback. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whats the Bry Nelson reference, ha, I don't understand the joke. As for Giambi, there were rumors this year that he was on Growth Hormone which aided his comeback. Regardless, I am just not of the belief that steroids and steroids alone turn you from a nuisance to one of the most productive hitters in the game. As for Wickman, he had an excellent season. You might be right about this one. About time..

There are some solid netminders left available on the open market. Felix Potvin, Byron Dafoe, Artus Irbe.. The Bruins were interested in both Dafoe and Potvin for back-up duties but the money wasn't right for them.
-
Rock, who would you have winning the award in the American League?
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:48 AM) That was predictable. I said it was going to happen earlier in the game thread. The media and fans will blame Graffanino a la Buckner if the White Sox win the series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's pathetic. ESPN never ceases to amaze me.
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) I was just pointing out you annointed him a 2nd baseman because that's how your team used him. I at least know where the man has played during his career, something you seemingly lacked. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All I have talked about is him being a starter. Why would I revert back to his utility days, especially at a position where he is worse defensively? What would be the point? Maybe its you who are lacking something.
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:40 AM) Again, why at second? Because Boston had him play second? Look at his career numbers, he has also played a lot of 1st and 3rd the past 7 years. 1998 was his last season with an overwhelming majority at 2nd base. But if Boston calls him a second baseman that must be what he is. Because Boston is always right. You can't wake someone who is pretending to be asleep. I just don't understand how someone can sleep and type. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What on earth are you talking about? For someone who accuses me of arguing without reason, you sure are hypocritical. Okay fine, he'll be a good third baseman for some team then. Does that make you feel better there, bud?
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For the third time now, I am not crying.
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) I've been trying to get this point across to redandwhite. He's not biting though. If Graffanino hits .300+ with a .360+ OBP next season, I will eat my shoe. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its not that I'm not biting, I am listening to everything youre saying with open ears and while he obviously won't repeat the season he had this year, and I'd be foolish to think that, I think he'll be a very solid second baseman for whoever signs him.
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:26 AM) You don't have to live in Boston to be a bandwagon Red Sox fan. Just like you don't have to live in Chicago to be a bandwagon Cubs fan. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm just saying Red Sox Nation, non-bandwagoners that is, is one of the most loyal fan bases in baseball. In other words, sleepy makes another stupid post, because there is no irony.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:23 AM) Fun site to read after tonight's game. Being called bandwagoners by a red sox fan...Oh, the irony... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the irony? bandwagon red sox fans exist only outside of Boston and therefore aren't bandwagoners at all.
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:19 AM) He's always been a good contributor off the bench. He's never produced like this in his entire career and likely won't next season. That's my point. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Point taken, I just disagree with it. Thats all.
