  1. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jan 13, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) Steve Smith is better then any WR we have. And what exactly has he done to show this? He did nothing last season and this year he had a craptastic season too and thats with a better QB and O-Line than what we have on the Bears. And for most of the season he had Plax drawing double teams which should of gave him more of a chance to be open.
  2. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 13, 2009 -> 09:20 AM) Without Plaxico Burress, Eli's simply a mediocre QB. I still love seeing him him on all of the Toyota ads and a few more in the NY/NJ area though. Perfect timing. Well to be fair now that Shockey gone too, that recieving corps without Burress is pretty bad, worse than the Bears even.
  3. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jan 13, 2009 -> 07:26 AM) I really don't think this is true. I mean, it can't be, right? At the end it mentions the guy has had trouble with the law a couple times in the past, I tend to take Curry's side in this story.
  4. Honestly I think Demarcus Ware deserves it more than all 3 that you mentioned.
  5. Its not about the size, its the girth
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) Defense and special teams? For total defense, somehow they're ranked in the top 3rd, I'm not sure how, but this defense is a shell of its former self. And Hester has been non-existent on ST, Manning has been good, but not good enough to credit ST for the points. The offense is pathetic... they've managed to be mediocre, sometimes even average. Yes, that's overachieving. Again how is being ranked close to last in just about every offensive statistic considered mediocre. Ill tell you what, if this offense truly was mediocre our defense would look a TON better, as it is like you said they ranked in top3. Im not going to argue anymore, I just dont understand how outside of two games, one vs an 0-15 team and the other we still turned the ball over a ton, you can consider the offense overachieving.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 03:18 PM) "Only" 80 yards a game is comfortably over 1000 yards, over 1200 actually, so that's not really a good metric to use. Plus he also has 452 receiving yards. If you would've told me that this team would be anywhere near 16th in points scored at the start of the season I would've laughed in your face. And thats because of our defense and special teams. Defense puts the offense in good positions to score and Manning has been doing well in kick returns, gould is having a solid season again and maynard is constantly pinning the other team inside the 20. Also in a 16 game season having a 1000 yard season isnt that overly impressive anymore, you should at the very least expect that. This offense has not overpoerformed in the least bit besides 2 games. Im not saying Forte hasnt been good, he has been great no doubt, but to say this offense has overperformed is crazy talk.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) There were 14 other games played this year. It's been the Matt Forte show. Without him we're talking about a historically bad offense. You do know Forte is only avging 80 yards a game, this offense isnt over achieving in the least bit, unless you think being ranked towards the bottom in every offensive category is considered over-achieving.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) They are still loaded with talent on defense, they are underachieving due to poor coaching. On offense they're overachieving, for that they have Matt Forte to thank. I only wish Forte had a legit backup (for whatever reason, they don't seem like Kevin Jones, although I do). How are they overachieving on offense, we had what an entire 48 yards of offense the first half. Besides the Detroit/Minny game our offense has been pretty brutal.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:27 PM) No matter what happens the rest of the way, this team has showed tremendous heart (very similar to the White Sox winning the three elimination games to win the central). And just as I say that we f*** ourselves on special teams. are you kidding me, this is one of the worse fuken games we played, packers had nothing to play for and we came out flat. This Bears team is nothing similar to what the whitesox were. And AP needs to have the s*** beaten out of him for that penatly.
  11. wtf is with our special teams, just lost us the game.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) Two games? WTH you talking about? And when you consider the WRs he's throwing to, he's had a pretty good year. Maybe you been watching Bears football so long you expect very little....but thank god for Forte. Now defense needs to come up big we fuken need them.
  13. ok Orton, Forte got you there now we need you to come up big,
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:12 PM) Which is odd cuz he showed he did before he got hurt. He would look off safeties all game long. I'm not a Rex fan, but screw it, put him in. Besides 2 games, Orton has been pretty bad all season long, well 2 games and one drive vs Atlanta.
  15. I dont care he if throws 4 interceptions, I want to see Hanie starting vs the Texans. We will have nothing to play for looks like it, maybe see if he can show any flashes of being good.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) Because it makes sense. We don't do things that make sense. Babich needs to be fired and Orton needs to be a backup. I would have absolutely 0 problems with Orton as our backup but he is not acceptable as a starter.
  17. Orton is losing this game for us. Atleast when/if we lose we can maybe start Hanie last game of season.
  18. Got to love Orton, underthrows a wide open Hester and than on 3rd down throws it like into a greenbay player.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) I'm fairly certain Orton will be back. I'd settle for just drafting another QB though, it's one lesson I learned as a Bears fan (don't count on one guy long-term, always have a backup option in case that doesn't work) In my opinion the only QB worth a damn is Sam Bradford and he if he comes out will be way before our pick.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) Yeah... see what happens to the run defense when Mike Brown isn't playing? Our run defense has gone downhill ever since Dusty has been out, the plus thing is our pass rush has gotten a little better. But on a side note.... If Babich and Orton are in their current roles next season something is definitely wrong with our front office and head coach.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Gotta love the cover 2 when you can't rush the passer. Everytime its 3rd and long we always run the cover 2 and seemingly it always gets beat, like it kills the defense. I dont understand why Babich keeps doing the same thing, it absolutely murdered is this season especially the atlanta game. I almost prefer them to be 3rd and short.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) Wind must be going against them. I will be a very sad individual if Orton is starting for the Bears next season, and im not saying give it back to Grossman I dont want either of those bums.
  23. what kind of kick off was that by gould...... he got it in the endzone last time.
  24. Packers are obviously stacking the line against the run, Turner needs to start passing some until that opens up.... our O-Line isnt good enough to do it otherwise.
  25. Yeah I honestly think if pitchers are groomed to go deeper into games and in a 4 man rotation they will be alright, in the past wasnt there 2 man rotations and we know in other countries stuf like that happens for example I remember Contreras stories pitching back to back. Also it seems back in his better days Livan Hernandez pitched most complete games and whatnot, is that not because of he was trained with a higher workload in Cuba?
