QUOTE (Steff @ Dec 3, 2008 -> 11:04 PM) Me, too. I have to say that Casio - the black one with the huge display - was right up there but I just couldn't justfy the extra $$ with the features of both being so similar. The appearance of the Casio is clearly nicer, but the stainless steel of the Canon is logical with a 1 year old who is all of a sudden wanting to take pictures with mommy's camera Thats actually a very nice camera you chose though, and Im not sure without double checking but I bet the canon you bought has a higher processor than the casio, which equals better quality of pictures when you blow them up etc. Also, Sony's are not bad cameras at all, the only problem with them is your paying more for a similar product of what you would for other cameras. They do have a lot of nice editing options on the camera itself though.

Lol I really hope when Im a parent I dont have to resort to such spy tactics, especially reading an aim conversation between bf/gf. Id make sure, especially if it was a daughter that she wouldnt be talking to any creepers but id try to stay out of the bf/gf stuff and whatnot. Unless i was suspecting foul play lol

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 3, 2008 -> 10:26 AM) I think my comments dealt with people who are clamoring to trade Jenks for anyone listed on the AFL top 20 rankings, etc. I totally understand trading Vazquez, as there was no chance he was coming back after Ozzie called him out. I'd rather see the Sox hold on to Dye, as his production is so underrated. Well as far as Jenks goes, I wouldnt be totally opposed to trading him if the right package of players were offered... but if I was KW I wouldnt actively be shopping him if that makes sense.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 3, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) We weren't? And sacrificing seasons is not something that KW and Ozzie are fit to do. Not only that, but our fan base won't be too happy with the organization if they do go into rebuilding mode. Well all the same, Vazquez/Swisher/Boone werent exactly big contributers to our success last season anyways, so getting rid of them for young talent that could help in the future isnt a loss when projecting our chances of going to the playoffs next season. 2nd, the off-season is far from done yet, who knows what KW has left to do, if for instance he adds Duscesher(sp?) from the A's, we suddenly have a very potent rotation that could carry an anemic offense.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 3, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) And questions about whether or not KW's interested in competing in 2009. I swear there's some posters on here who'd rather have a highly ranked farm system than a competitive major league team. KW's improved the depth in this organization, but now it's time for him to start collecting legitimate 2009 MLB starting players. We werent going to make the playoffs with the same core of players anyways, im more than willing to sacrafice one down season if it means many future good ones rather than a constantly 2nd/3rd place team.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 3, 2008 -> 08:50 AM) You can "flash" a 98 MPH (heck, even Zach Greinke can do this when he wants) and still consistently be 92-95, which is what Jackson's profile would tell you. I think that was more true when he was with the Dodgers, I don't remember him anywhere near 98 with Tampa this season.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 3, 2008 -> 09:09 AM) Well, hell, AJ can't block balls in the dirt or throw anyone out... We're not going to lose any defense switching to Flowers in two years! I always thought AJ's ability to block balls was pretty overated. Just the fact he was able to hit after having nothing from that position for many years made me overlook his defense.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 3, 2008 -> 07:01 AM) Something else to remember. the last time the White Sox offered a pool of prospects to another team to choose from, it worked out well for us...overhyped CF Anthony Webster, P Josh Rupe and P Frank Francisco. To this day, KW has given up very little that we can sit about and be really, really upset about... Francisco Chris Young Carlos Torres Ryan Sweeney That's about it...maybe Gio Gonzalez, although he obviously took a step back in his development this season. Dont forget about Cunningham, that trade turned out pretty poor since Richar basicly did nothing for us. The other player who might become very good is Carter, but since we got Quentin in return its not much of a loss. So far the only trades I havent been satisfied with were the original Swisher trade, the Cunningham trade, and Carlos Lee trade. I did like Swisher as a player, just felt like we gave up a lot for him and obviously it didnt really work out.

How much of Edwin Jackson have you really seen, his fastball might be high velocity but has no movement to it. If he was so good why was he left off the playoff roster, the Rays didn't even want him in the bullpen.

Only guys id vote in are Tim Raines and Rickey Henderson, I also imagine Mark Grace will eventually get in but he isn't a first ballot guy.

The funny thing is most guys prefer a woman who looks like her rather than someone too skinny, who knows when they will finally figure that out?

QUOTE (Shadows @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) You cant compare basketball to football.. A non BCS conference school would never get to the final four of a CFB Tourny Didnt Wisconsin-Milwaukee make the final 4 just a few years back? They are pretty much equivalent to Utah/Boise State/Hawaii/etc. -
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) Um, actually that's the only thing that could make it a decent deal. That's also assuming the Sox use those picks to get somebody worth a damn. Everyone besides Whitesox fans thought we got the better player in the deal, getting the draft picks just sweetened the deal a little more for us.

Will the White Sox offer arb. to Uribe and Cabrera?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 07:31 PM) There were a couple of times he was stealing 3rd base in very questionable situation with Dye at the plate...one time, Dye had to be physically restrained from going after him. When there's smoke, there's fire. There were just too many times that Ozzie left Cabrera hung out to dry in the media instead of backing him up. Also, the whole thing of leaving every night from the ballpark and NEVER taking questions from reporters. That's another form of selfishness, especially after losses which he has a hand in. Quentin absolutely HATES dealing with the media, but he still manages it and always is classy in his responses. These guys are with each other for most of the year, you never get into arguments with your friends? I know sometimes Ive got in pretty heated arguments with some of my best friends, again your reaching at saying he was a cancer unless you have an inside source. I dont care about the reporters much anyways, most of their questions are pretty stupid and uninteresting in the first place. -
4:30 in the morning to 11 at night. Going to be one helluva day.

GoodAsGould replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think Cabrera gets a bad rap here that he doesnt really deserve. I personally dont know any of the ballplayers or have an inside source but atleast from looking at the clubhouse in games he seemed to fit well with the rest of the team. Yeah he had some questionable things like complaining about the error, but I think as a whole he was well liked by the team. Now if someone who is close to people on the sox or in the clubhouse says otherwise, but most of you seemingly are just assuming he is a cancer because of a few articles in the newspapers, some that werent even that bad. -
Probably the two best are fulltilt and pokerstars.

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 25, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) So after having my 2nd Xbox break this past week, I decided to go and get me a PS3. I had NBA 2k9 for 360 and picked it up for the PS3 and noticed right off the bat the graphics are better in the 360. Also bought call of duty modern warfare and those graphics are pretty good, don't really have the 360 version to compare. The whole graphics thing is really bothering me so I've been doing some research and am wondering other people heres opinion. 1. In general, are the graphics for all sports games better for the 360? 2. Ive read a lot about the graphics for PS3 not reaching potential yet. Have they gotton better since the PS3 came out? Which overall has the best grpahics for video games? The first batch of sports games looked significantly better on the 360, now though the graphics should start looking better better on the ps3, atleast equal to the 360.

ESPN radio reporting Mets/White Sox talks heating up...
GoodAsGould replied to Fantl916's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If he was a throw in I wouldnt mind Guillen but at the same time he doesnt really fit on this team, the only way it would work is if we had Dejesus play CF which many have cautioned against doing. I dont think a trade happens with the Royals when its all said and done anyways so the whole point is moot. -
QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 08:27 PM) They are just animals... animals who can tell you when they are hungry, have to pee, and show discomfort when they are sick. They also greet you when you come home, comfort you when you are sick/sad, and show fright, pain, and happiness. How hunting an animal that does not depend on a human for it's existance and tourturing one that is capable of showing respect for the human that takes care of it are even mentioned in the same breath makes no sense to me. I guess you have never seen bambi

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) Illini 4-0, they really appear to have found something in Mike Davis as well. If Legion comes in and fits well with the rest of the team, we can be talking about an NCAA berth -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 03:21 PM) Wow, we’re going to be in an incredibly tough place this offseason. On one hand, the QB class is going to be incredibly strong for the next two years, on the other we have Orton who remains somewhat of a mystery to all of us. I would be fine with drafting an OL like Oher or even focusing on defense and WR, but still… I don't understand the Orton love, he has been extremely mediocre for the most part. Has had two good games vs very poor pass defenses and than mediocre to bad. He was also pretty bad against a brutal Rams defense, should of had a couple of picks today. I like Orton as a backup for sure and without a doubt Grossman is done in Chicago, but at the same time besides Bradford not many QB's impress me in the upcoming draft. I think I would want the Bears to go with their top pick on the OL again. -
QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 02:49 AM) Death row is a bit extreme because there are people who murder other people and don't even get death row, however, the year or however long he did in jail was perfect punishment IMO. He spent time in jail, its not like he had some ridiculous sentence.. he lost his job, he lost all his money. I think its safe to say he learned quite the lesson from all of this. I however do not think hunting is as bad because you aren't hunting domesticated dogs, you are hunting stupid s*** that no one gives a f*** about. I could care less about a deer or a quail or a pig. Those aren't pets (Only to some weirdos) and there is actually a use to it for the food. Having two dogs rip eachother apart and torturing them and then killing them when they are useless.. that aint even CLOSE to the same thing as hunting.. See thats where I think the logic is very flawed, how is the value of a dog any better than that of a deer or rabbit etc. Yes, dogs are household pets but they really are no different intelligent wise than any other mammal.
-
QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 22, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) He was taking some of his family pets and throwing them in with the fighting dogs just to be tortured.I dont like dogs but that is f***ing sick,I could never hurt my family's pets let alone breed fighting dogs. Im not arguing if its sick or not, and definitely should be punishments for torturing animals. But in the end I think we cant forget that they are just animals. What would be more appropiate is a huge fine/fee for everything he did, probation, and many many many hours of volunteer work. I just dont think someone should do serious jail time for animals.
-
I know this sounds cruel on my part, but in the end it was just dogs. Idonno how I feel about people doing serious jail time because of animals, which if he wasnt a superstar probably would be in jail for a much longer time.
