  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 02:20 AM) Sure he is. I just don't understand the Crede hate around here. The guy is one of the reasons we won it all. OK, dispute that. I'm sure somebody will say he didn't do squat. He did. There isnt Crede hate for what he did in 05, its just time to move on. The only Crede hate is towards the people who want him back now when it makes no sense.
  2. Yeah I dont understand how Dunn fits into the Nationals. After Nick Johnson gets injured I guess he could just play 1B, but they got a crowded OF now.
  3. The only thing that worries me about Amare is what to stop him from leaving us. Still im starting to think we need to keep one of Noah/Thomas, have no problem in throwing in Thabo who apparently Kerr really likes.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 09:03 PM) I only have the radio, did Mike do the classic clapping the powder off his hands gag? Yep, was pretty awesome.
  5. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 03:54 PM) God..this guy was such a piece of garbage Well one thing you gotta like about him is he really loved the sox/cub rivalry and would have fun with the fans.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) I'd rather have 6 other WR's instead of Harvin- Robiskie, Crabtree, Heyward-Bey, Maclin, Nicks, and Britt. Besides their skill sets, there's been 1 solid WR out of Florida...ever. What does a schools past have to do with any of it? If it was the same coach for all the years there maybe would be a better point.
  7. I do not want Wise on the mlb team, he doesnt bring anything to it. Although, I have no problem with him being in charlotte and being a sept callup or even a fillin incase of injury.
  8. Charlotte would be pretty good with Broussard, Allen, Cook, Nix, and Armstrong.
  9. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) i dont belive that report, that were trying to get him. sure it makes sense but i really believe the sox when they say they think one of nix, lilli, and getz can take that job. and about the whole money issue. i just dont see it at all. i hope im wrong though. Never believe what KW has to say
  10. The only 2 players Im set on keeping on this current Bulls team is Rose and Deng. Deng despite his dissapointing season I still think he is the ideal 3rd scorer on a good/great team. That and his contract isnt favorable for trading anyhow.
  11. Why would the Heat give up on Beasley so soon. for the amount of minutes he plays he puts up pretty solid numbers and is just a rookie. He could definitely be a better player than Amare in near future.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) I believe we would lose our second round pick as well in that case. Right, but the point is, Juan Cruz might not be worth losing a first rounder for some.... but a 2nd rounder especially late one is something id be willing to give up.
  13. The real question is, if we sign Orlando Hudson and lose our first pick. Would that in effect make it worthwhile to sign Juan Cruz as well?
  14. I would imagine if he sat out an entire season his value would go down rather than up, but at this point Ill be happy if he just signs somewhere so that we get a draft pick.
  15. I still say I-Rod, Piazza, and A-Rod all get into the HOF. I think the fact they they roids and were complete scumbags and all about it Bonds/Clemens and the fact he was a giant tool liar(Mcguire) were the main reasons not making it into the hall.
  16. If we go out and splurge and get Hudson/Abreu that would make our offense pretty sick. We have a late draft pick anyways so not really overly worried about that.
  17. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 01:19 PM) A few thoughts: Smoking pot doesn't mean he's a stupid person, but doing it at a party with other people around was poor judgment. From what I hear, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so it's not too surprising. Also, as a former pot smoker, I never met anyone who was a casual smoker and took bong hits. If you're doing bong hits, you're not a novice. Last, Kellogs dropped him as a sponsor. The company that sells what is basically sugar in a box and passes it off as cereal. Oh, the irony. Ive done it maybe 4 times in my life, and twice it was bong hits. So dont know where you make that sound like such a fact.
  18. I do not see Portland offering up Aldridge, he is younger and maybe wont be as dominant as Amare at times, but he is pretty damn good and doesnt have the big knee injury on his resume either.
  19. dont forget ray durham is in the book too.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) If we were to trade for Amare, the only way we can move Hughes's contract is if we get another 2010 expiring contract in return. Otherwise we'll lose the ability to extend Amare past 2010 without crossing the hated luxury tax # (since both Amare and Hughes expire in 2010). hasnt JR always said he will pay the luxury tax for a team that has a chance to win it all? In the NBA that is since he make a profit anyways.
  21. I really hope David Cook rises to the occasion and wins the CF job. Its definitely not likely, but I just get the same vibe off him as I did Chris Getz(when he was in lowA) and think Cook will be successful in the bigs.
  22. Yeah, I do think Tyrus has the chance to be a 15, 10 and maybe 2 blocks a game type season potential. But I have no hope for Noah ever being a productive starter longterm, Gooden means nothing to this franchise, and Amare is a special player. If Paxson has the opportunity, this would correct a lot of his poor mistakes in the past. Does anyone think Kirk Hinrich or Larry Hughes could be moved for either a Kaman or Wilcox afterwards, both those guys are post players and would be better for our team needs than what Hinrich/Hughes offer.
  23. A core of Amare, Deng, and Rose would definitely be pretty appealing. The only downside is it felt like Tyrus was starting to finally come into his own, even Noah has been improving as of late.

    Films Thread

I consider myself a pretty tough critic when it comes to actors, hate keanu reeves, and I enjoy almost everything Christian Bale does. The only movie that I thought was horrible was 3:10 to Yuma... and one of my other favorite actors, Russel Crowe, was in it too.... so blaming that one on the script.
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 11:29 PM) easier to stay healthy, yes, but not to play CF, even short-term, when you haven't played the position (other than 6 random games in one season (with the A's, which makes sense)) in 10 years. Lol well I wouldnt want Dewayne Wise playing CF either which would be the player being replaced.
