Isnt Boozer going to be a f/a this upcoming season, anyway we can find a way to sign him and maybe trade for another big man using Hughes expiring contract for next season? -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 03:45 PM) That really has nothing to do with it. Mark Sanchez is a grown man and made a grown man's decision based on what he thought was best for him and his family. Who the hell is Pete Carroll to criticize? Well Pete Carroll knows a little thing about football and he has gotten plenty of kids to the NFL, so thats who he is to criticize. Also most scouts believe that Sanchez would benefit greatly by spending another year in college too. -
On the Fight Night topic, watching boxing for the most part does bore me, but I do love that game. And it only is a 3-4 round knockout with the heavy weights. If you go middleweights or something the fight very easily can go the distance.

yeah this is pretty much a make or break season for Fields, the 3B job is really his for the taking. Im not expecting too much but I was a fan when we drafted him so hoping for the best. I do think Getz might be our best rookie next season and surprise a lot of people with what he is able to do.
-
We dont really have a spot for him but I wouldnt mind signing him, he can platoon at bother corner OF spots, 1B, and DH. Gives Dye/Konerko/Thome a lot of rest which at this point in their careers they need a day off more often. Than we can offer him arbitration or resign him at the end of season.

Now that I dont think much of Randy Johnson or Curt Schilling as human beings Id maybe of rooted for the yankees, but at the time it happened I was just starting to really get into baseball and the stories behind that world series will make any individual a fan of the game for life.

Its definitely cool to see my religion growing up, Unitarian Universalism, up pretty high on some lists. Lol the only other time I ever see it is when the Simpsons are mocking it.

QUOTE (SnB @ Jan 25, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) 6 people split 2 crave cases last night at 3am. what a horrible decision.....however no one was hungover. Thats nothing, 3 people per case. I split one with just my buddy.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 05:17 PM) If Lesnar can get a title shot for beating Herring, Rampage should def. get a title shot now. The UFC needs to come up with some sort of ranking system. I'm sure Liddell is closer to a title shot right now than Henderson right now and I dont think thats right. The LHW division is becoming so deep that its basically a crapshoot on who deserves what. Thats because UFC is trying to shove Lesnar down our throats, he definitely didnt deserve the title fight, although he is fun as hell to watch fight.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 01:22 AM) Just keep in mind this is a game of basketball musicial chairs, and you can skip ahead to the 1:30 mark to get to the good part. The crowd/videographer reaction make the whole video for me. Im sorry that kid is a giant dick, not even really funny at all. And I usually like this type of stuff.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 11:57 PM) Because the fight he lost was extremely close, I still think it should of been a draw. Why jump someone over him who is less deserving? It was close but I thought for sure Griffin won, and I think you should win atleast a couple fights before getting another title match. Something that shouldn't be given but earned.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jan 17, 2009 -> 02:27 PM) They're no worse than the pushy salesman who tries and sell an extended warranty ontop of the TV or tell me that "The most important thing with flatscreen TV's is the quality of your cables" and then try to shove a monster cable down your throat for $150. They got me once on that as I picked up a cable in an open package for $65 or so and even at the separate register the clerk commented on my open cable. "Ooh, that's a nice cable." It was really a drop in a bucket compared to everything else I made in that purchase. I read a lot of stories on bestbuysucks.com that make me even think less of POS salesmen. I remember Circuit City's no questions asked return policy too. I had a calculator that was damaged by too much exposure to rain so I bought a new one, swapped them in the packaging and returned it for full price. Take THAT! mother nature. Well yes I can understand that too, there are 1-2 salesmen in my department who will definitely do that type of thing too. In general though I dont really push hard for hdmi cables just offer it to them and whatnot and for warranties, Sears atleast has a 1 year cancel for full refund and covers a lot more than manufacturers warranty... so I suggest it for 11 months atleast and than cancel if you want.

Why should Rampage get a title shot already, he only has had 1 fight since losing it. Give him 1 more fight and than if he wins that Im all for giving him another shot.

QUOTE (Jimmywins1 @ Jan 17, 2009 -> 09:02 AM) Anything that values a pitcher by their win total is terribly flawed. If the Padres are absolutely terrible this year and Jake Peavy only wins 8 games, does that make Javier Vazquez a better pitcher/worth more than him? No but at the same point people that completely discredit the W stat are in the wrong too. Some pitchers just are gamers and do just enough to win games, whether its giving up 4 runs or 1 depending what the team needs.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) I never buy electronics in a store, its always more expensive. I go look at things at the Best Buy nearby, then go find the best price for that product online, as long as its from a retailer that is at least semi-known (Amazon, Buy.com, etc.). You can often avoid sales tax this way too. Yes people like you truly do suck, come into stores ask the associates questions about it than leave and buy it online. I cant blame you for wanting to save money but it truly is irritating when you get those customers.

Mac gone from Mac, Jurko and Harry

Yeah dont really understand this move, those 3 were the biggest draw on the radio station and to take away one of the 3 could mess that up. I would assume most Wsox fans would stop tuning in since the other 2 are huge Cub guys. -
Order em: Most likely X-factor success this year
GoodAsGould replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Getz, Fields/Viciedo, Colon, and Contreras. For some reason when I watch Getz it reminds me of dustin pedroia of the Redsox, I really think Getz can have a career similar to Pedroia, now I have no stats or real logic to back that statement, more of a gut feeling. And I know pedroia bats righty while Getz is a lefty. -

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) Took the words out of my mouth. Tillman has never been a world beater and IMHO he should be no more than a nickel or a #2 with Champ Bailey on the other side of him. Vasher is like Tillman IMHO as well. They have good qualities and I think Vasher is a better tackler and coverage person why Tillman is the better ballhawk. Either way, they are not the answer at CB. The S is screwed up as well IMO. Bears have good backups starting at those positions, especially when Brown is injured. I also think they have to move on from Mike Brown. Other more prominent needs IMO are WR and DE. Unless Im completely off here and I might be since Ive been drinking, but isnt Tillman a very solid tackler and Vasher pathetic in that regard. I have no mind with Tillman being a starting corner for the Bears, its just the defensive scheme that gets beat all the time. Vasher on the other hand was just really pathetic this last season and definitely needs a bounce back season next year or he done. I actually am a fan of Kevin Payne as well and think he will just improve more next season. -

I think the biggest need is still O-Line for the Bears. Im not up to date with the cap info but if there is a way we can sign the one corner from Oakland that would be pretty awesome as well. Ive heard Duke Robinson the LG falling into the 2nd round, would be pretty great if we could draft a good RT in first and get Robinson in 2nd as well. -
I still think Bobby Wade is a fairly crappy WR, he is comparable to Rashied Davis in my mind. Justin Gage was a player I always liked and glad to see him succeed elsewhere, bottom line though the reason all WR's look poor is because of a weak O-Line and weak QB. The last time we had a WR look good was Marty Booker and that season, atleast in 01 we had a very solid O-Line, kind of gone downhill since than. The one the coaching staff dropped the ball on was Mark Bradley, he obviously had talent it was apparent to every fan, and for some reason they kept shoving Rashied Davis down our throats instead.

Sign Colon on a heavily incentive based deal, sign Garland, trade Dye, sign Abreu. Get it done KW?

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jan 14, 2009 -> 07:41 AM) So who would you take, Hester or Smith? Lloyd or Smith? Davis or Smith? Exactly. Id take Hester and if healthy Lloyd over Smith. Hester had better numbers with a worse QB throwing to him, It is without a doubt Orton cost Hester atleast 2 maybe 3-4 TD's this season which would even increase the gap more. Steve Smith is a good 3rd WR nothing more than that. -
One of the first "projected" standings, Sox dead last
GoodAsGould replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
according to that, 4 of the top 5 teams record wise will be in the AL East, a bit ridiculous if you ask me. Idonno predictions are meaningless, who saw Tampa winning that division or us for that matter this last season. -
Id have no problem in bringing in Leftwich. He wont cost that much and at very worse gives us a solid backup with experiance, think he has even been in a playoff game or 2. Honestly with Leftwich we could have a 3 man competition for the QB spot with Hanie the darkhorse, Id rather do this than waste a draft pick on a craptastic QB like Painter.
