  1. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 10:45 PM) So since I've liked them since I was 8, I'm a bangwagon fan? Okay dude. In terms of college sports, yes. You only liked them in the first place because they were good. Probably explains why the other team you root for is USC in football.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) Are you serious? My Dukies are going to destroy the Salukies. Unless you went to Duke or maybe live in NC, cant call them your Dukies lol. Maybe if your parents went there, otherwise definite bandwagon fan.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 08:02 PM) Basically, both gamespot and ign both said it was better than R1, and the multiplayer is a whole lot funner. The game is pretty badass, the one thing that pissed me off is no campaign co-op. To me the funnest part of Resistance 1 was co-op and now all they have are a few missions you can do. Besides that, its a pretty fun game. After playing both though... Gears of War 2 is better.
  4. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) Bulls had the worst FG% last year. Outside of Ben, no one is really a good shooter on this team. Maybe Noc and that's it. You could get away with non-slashers who shoot 3's or shooters who don't slash, but you can't get away with non-shooters who don't slash which is what Deng and Thabo have become. Btw, from a Bulls board, after 10% of the season being done: Last year was the first season we werent very successful though, so looking at those stats are misleading when judging a team. Plus like previously mentioned no matter if we had 5 of the better shooters in the game, with no post game your FG% is going to be worse than most other teams. Also Ben Gordon does get 2 much hate on this board, but he can be frustrating as hell to watch too, when he over dribbles its pretty brutal.
  5. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) Yeah, I know they both have a little promise and pretty good arms. I just dont know that I would want to go through the motions of explaining all of the little intricacies of the game(like what a short stop is) to a player, as well as teaching mechanics and pitch selection, it seems like too much for them at this point in their lives. Think about someone in the US who has never played any organized baseball in his life, yet has been able to watch the game on TV for his entire life. Say he showed up at some draft camp on a whim, and showed the same promise that these two kids have shown. Do you think that he would end up in the majors? The possibility is extremely slim, even with a small background in watching the game. Think about how everyone labeled Josh Hamilton a complete freak of nature because he was able to be away from the game for 3 years and come back and be the player that he is. Now if you apply that to these two guys, who up until recently never have even watched the game, and now are trying to play it. I just dont see much hope for them doing anything, but like I said, this could lay the groundwork for something in the future. Which isnt much sense at all. Well it sounded like they knew of the game of baseball so teaching them what a SS is wouldnt seem neccesary. As to your other points Hamilton was not only away from the game 3 years but he also destroyed his body and instantly succeeded at the major league level which was what everyone was amazed about. These kids are without a doubt going into the minors. Also being pitchers is why I give them a shot to succeed, if your stuff is good enough you will find a way to the majors, Daniel Cabrera's baseball career started around the same time as these kids are begining theirs.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) Through 8 games, Orton has found a way. Again no he hasnt. Orton has really only had 2 stellar games and they were against 2 teams with brutal secondaries in Minny/Detroit. Other than that he has been average to below average.
  7. QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) With Berrian, and a much better offensive line? Please do not compare Orton and Rex anymore. sincerely, a 2008 preseason Rex Grossman supporter. I dont think the O-Line was any better lol but ok. Our O-Line hasnt been good really since the A-Train's rookie season. Plus Berrian is a nothing WR, Devin Hester is the same WR just a lot of speed. I dont even really want Rex as our starter, just saying I blame our coaching staff and our O-Line more than anything else.
  8. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 11:33 AM) I think these guys may lay the groundwork for future Indian prospects, but I highly doubt either of these two kids make an impact with any team that throws a contract at them, purely based on their complete lack of knowledge of the game of baseball. Its one thing to refine raw skills of an athlete who actually knows the game of baseball, its a completely different story when you are talking about teaching the game of baseball as well as refining the raw skills. From what I read one of them only throws mid 80's so he definitely sounds like a non-prospect. But from the article the other one hit 90 and showed some breaking stuff as well, although mostly fastballs.
  9. QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) yeah... except Kyle Orton.. right? Orton had a few good games, Grossman has done the same. Honestly the only 2 games he was overly impressive in was against horrible secondaries in Detroit/Minny.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) Marty Booker has had a terrible game. He's not gone after any ball thrown to him aggressively. Nice call on that 2nd and 1...ugh! Our Oline getting blown up on that play probably ended the game for us. We got outcoached today and Babich needs to be fired immediately after game.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 02:32 PM) Yeah, no way Rex deserves to be booed for being a huge disappointment in his career. I bet on a new team if given a chance Grossman can be a good QB. When you have a poor O-Line and poor WR's not many QB's are going to be all that good.
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) This is so frustrating, there is absolutely no pash rush, f***ing blitz Babich, you moron. I don't know how it was ever justified letting Rivera go for Babich. Honestly, if Babich doesn't make a major break through he has to be fired, if not I give Lovie 1 more season to survive in Chicago.
  13. How is it their receivers are constantly open, especially on 3rd down. What type of coverage are we playing.....
  14. Corey Graham needs to take over for Vasher, until he fixes whatever is wrong with him. And Babich needs to make some creative blitzes because front 4 arent doing it.
  15. We are definitely the worse team at screens. Every time it seems like they go for no gains, also John Tait really sucks at this point in his career, always being pushed back on pass blocking and makes no room for run blocking.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) I'm thinking that the Bears should look at getting a punter in next year's draft. Unless he has a golden leg you dont waste a draft pick on a punter. I dont follow college punters lol so dont know if anyone has that type of leg thats worth a pick.
  17. we need to abandon the cover 2 on 3rd and long, every damn time. Urlacher was somehow behind the WR 15 yards down the field, thats ridiculous.
  18. Why is it we are always getting beat on 3rd and long. It seems teams are more likely to convert on 3rd and long than they are 3rd and short. I wish we would make an adjustment because it has been happening all season, especially against the falcons.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 03:27 PM) I didn't realize you were a middle-aged unwed woman. Lol, in all honesty I want one of both when I have my own house. Or maybe 2 cats and a dog.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 02:39 PM) I hope Locksley gets a head coaching job so we can get an offensive coordinator who actually knows what the f*** he is doing. The Illini are definitely frustrating to watch, sometimes the offense looks like an unstoppable machine and than today really poor. A new rb is definitely needed...
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) Yeah I have, and they are a bad jump shooting team. That's why they have had a bad offense for several years, obviously. They won those few good years with rebounding and defense, the offense had NOTHING to do with it, at all. As for tonight, no idea where that came from but it was fun to watch. Thats completely wrong but whatever, we have always been out-rebounded because we have never had a true C, not even a real PF either. Jump shooting has its up and downs but thats true no matter who you have out there playing that style. Until we get a true C though or even a PF, nothing we can do about it. One guy we should look at in my opinion is Wilcox, Thunder given where they are at should be interested in trading him.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) Dogs >>> Cats Maybe in bizzaro world
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 02:49 PM) If Del Negro really is using a European style offense (and it has looked that way so far), then damn that was a stupid hire. This is an absolutely AWFUL jump shooting team, outside of Deng if he's wide open (and only 20 feet in) and Gordon if he's on a hot streak. Square peg, meet round hole. What are you talking about, we have been a jump shooting team ever since we traded Curry. Moreso than not that got us into the playoffs and even into the 2nd round, you must have been watching a different team all these years.
  24. Half the reason you sign Hudson is he is the top defensive 2B in MLB. Putting him in CF severely diminishes his value and whoever would sign him with the intent to move his position I think deserves to be fired.
  25. Michael Young is definitely one of the worse SS's in the league, MLB really needs to re-work the way these rewards are decided. Right now its a joke and even most casual baseball fans could tell you that.
