QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Apr 16, 2009 -> 08:08 PM) You've had him and swisher in your sig for some time, no? Are you going to get rid of Nick? Yeah, ill prob redo that whole thing when I stop being so lazy, which might be a few years. -

Wow, this is the type of game we are just asking for the Rays to comeback and take from us. Hopefully the bullpen comes in and shuts the door, but im officially worried. -

Im really starting to become a Josh Fields fan. He looks like such a better hitter than his rookie season, even though the HR's havent come as of yet. -

Anderson is looking pretty brutal at the plate, I wonder how Scotty Pods is going to look in CF -
Official 2009-2010 NFL Thread
GoodAsGould replied to rangercal's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Havent we beat Philly the last 2-3 times against them, and they have lost a few significant pieces this season while we went and added a franchise QB. The Browns are without a doubt going to be bad next season, especially if Edwards gets traded, their offense will be incredibly anemic and that defense isnt good. -
the last 3 "stud" college RP's coming out of the draft is Craig Hansen, Huston Street, and Chad Cordero. None have been particularily all that great, despite some early success for Street and Cordero. I know the mariners drafted I think Joshua Fields a RP this last year, dont know how well he is doing. But, given the track record I dont want anything to do with a relief pitcher in the first few rounds.

Id take a flyer on most of those guys, and yes I have no problem offering Poreda up because I dont think he has much potential as a starter.

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
GoodAsGould replied to The Beast's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
It seemed to me that Derek Rose hit another level with Memphis when the big tourney started, if last night was any sign, Rose might be gearing up for the nba playoffs too, be pretty interesting how he performs. -
Anybody else not feelin' the Hawk-Stoney combo
GoodAsGould replied to Wanne's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Im liking the new combo, but I do miss DJ at times. I haven listened briefly on the radio some and DJ has fit in nicely with farmio. My favorite combo was the trio of Ventura, DJ, and Hawk though. -
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) And yet it only took what? 50 years for it to happen the first time? Well baseball has been going on since late 1800's? And it never happened with 100-100 before either for the lower power era.
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:44 PM) I'm not a big fan of this line of thinking. What if they play baseball for another 500 or 2000 years? A hitter first reached 300 career HR 84 years ago and 300 in a career hasn't become prevalent until relatively recently so it didn't take very long for a feat such as this to take place. If Major League Baseball exists for even another 500 years then baseball history as we know it will be a mere drop in the bucket. Idonno, 2 guys hitting their 300th HR back to back is really unlikely scenario to take place again.

Wise to DL with Separated Shoulder/Anderson to Start in CF
GoodAsGould replied to Jimmywins1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I wouldnt mind Kroeger, he can relieve both corner OF spots. Anderson and Lilli can split the CF, with Brian getting majority of the ab's. -

GoodAsGould replied to Jimmywins1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Got to hand it to him, that was a helluva play by Wise and he was looking much better batting 9th. Hopefully he wont be out for too long. -
QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 12, 2009 -> 03:45 PM) Everybody in the minors is unproven, including Poreda. Really unless you have a prospect like David Price, or someone in the top10, Id label them anything but a sure thing.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 01:13 AM) I love it. whitesoxbrian probably still thinks Kyle Orton rules and Marcus Robinson is the best receiver ever. I was actually a big fan of Marcus Robinson, it seemed after he hurt his league while catching a ball that one time with us he was never the same

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) New faces, same game plan. When is it gonna change? Probably next year when Wise/Dye/Thome/Kong are all gone. -

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 11:05 AM) Marmol will replace him quickly I imagine, but he'll still be lurking in the 7th and 8th. It just doesnt make sense, the reason Marmol wasnt the "closer" is for situations last night where he could come in and get a much needed strikeout. So, instead of using Marmol they being in Gregg and ofcourse end up losing the game.
