QUOTE (lostfan @ May 19, 2009 -> 11:21 AM) I just saw, yet again, that the PS3 sales are STILL lagging behind. Ouch. This was supposed to be "the year." The ps2 actually outsold the ps3 this last month, which is pretty ridiculous. They did design a great system just the price is too ridiculous for most people to pay, as soon as it drops 100 dollars it should move up the charts.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 19, 2009 -> 11:07 AM) You are seriously ignoring the rotation, where the Sox still lack potential front of the rotation starters. Despite their struggles this season, Danks/Floyd both can be front of the rotation guys. Plus Poreda/Harrel/Hudson/Carter/Infante/Upchurch are all legit prospects, that being said I dont care what position he plays, I draft best player available.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 14, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) Eye witness is not circumstantial evidence. Eye witnesses are unreliable, most of the wrongfully convicted criminals can be pinned to eyewitnesses.

Is it possible to get more of a bio on Danks, like a scouting report and college/minorleague/afl stats.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ May 13, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) And you have to realize how few murder cases have eyewitnesses - circumstantial evidence IS EVERYTHING. And the circumstantial evidence here is pretty good, never mind that they do have Kathy's body, unlike Stacy's. Actually eye witnesses are some of the least reliable evidence in court cases today, all about forensics and motive.

QUOTE (T R U @ May 13, 2009 -> 02:22 AM) Gimme a break, winning on the road without Howard and Lee in Philly to clinch that series was enough to show me they have heart. I don't know what your definition of heart is, but having a huge lead and letting the other team back in it is more of laziness and not finishing than it is heart. If they didn't have any heart, they would have lost to Philadelphia. Maybe they were able to beat Philly because the difference in talent level was enormous, if anything with all the blown leads maybe they are just poorly coached. -

Im a bandwagon fan I guess kinda, I started watching them last season. But, to be fair I always liked to watch the Stanley Cup finals even if my personal knowledge of hockey wasnt all that high. And, with an owner like the blackhawks had, it is hard to be a fan of the team. -

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 10, 2009 -> 10:09 PM) Then pushes a little kid out of the way afterwards. It may of been clutch, but I still highly dislike him. (not because of pushing the kid, but because he's Glen Davis) I liked him in college but hate him now because of that haircut. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2009 -> 12:29 AM) I prefer trading guys in the offseason if you are going to make trades. We'll get robbed for prospects during the season. And prospects ain't proven anything yet. Well Dotel/Dye/Thome are all impending f/a's so the only option would be to trade them sometime this season if we fall out of the division race.

Jordan vs. LeBron, who you got?
GoodAsGould replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ May 9, 2009 -> 02:19 AM) Excuse me, I'm not diminishing Jordan's talents, I couldn't see him winning 6 championships for the Sacremento Kings or the Toronto Raptors. What's pathetic is the way you like to attack others opinions on this board. Really, throw Jordan with the Raptors and I consider them the favorite to win it all. Your right about the Kings, but than again the Bulls were a pretty pathetic team when they drafted Jordan as well. Even with the Kings, Kevin Martin is better than anyone on the bulls when they got Jordan. -
have to wait atleast mid-june Id say, but I wouldnt be against it if we dont improve.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 7, 2009 -> 06:50 AM) I'm not talking about changing the game. Yes, Jordan paved the way for guys like LeBron. I'm saying... if you were starting a franchise, whom would you want, right now? They will play in 2010. You guys have the blinders on if you don't say LeBron. You start a thread asking which player you would take to start a franchise and than go on to say we have blinders on if we don't agree with the one you chose? In todays NBA, Jordan would be able to avg. 40 plus a night no problem. -
QUOTE (danman31 @ May 6, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) Whoa, let's not go way overboard here. He's a solid prospect, but it's 27 games in AA. Another guy if you want to just look so far through this season is Justin Smoak, the guy I was hoping we would draft instead of Beckham. The guy is definitely tearing the cover off the ball, that being said, I still am happy with our pick.

On a serious note: -Id change the law to when 2 illegal immigrants have a child in this country, that child is still an illegal immigrant, and the reverse when 2 US citizens give birth over-sea's, that child should also be a US citizen. -Make a college playoffs for football -Legalize and tax weed/marijuana -Cut insane college tuition prices -many other things that I'm too sick/tired to think of.

Its past the arbitration cutoff for either of them to be elgible, so why are they both still not on the big league team?

Sox scouts on the lookout for young OF prospects
GoodAsGould replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) Even the Braves though have had some down years over the last couple...and to be frank, when you don't have to worry about having to draft a #1, 2, or 3 starting pitcher for 10 years, that helps also. Right, but I mean you cant always be on the top all the time. One bad draft class can take a team fom the top to the bottom given some of the past prospects are either going to be up in the bigs or traded. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 6, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) Tampa seems to have a lot more opportunities to draft good young players, because they had the #1 pick for a couple years running. I think the real challenge is building a winning farm, when you consistently pick later in the draft. Which you than have to look at the Redsox and Braves. But to be fair, besides the Kenny Williams jr, pick I really thought the Whitesox did an outstanding job in last years draft, so lets just hope that it wasnt a fluke and we have 2 good drafts in a row. -

GoodAsGould replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That post was way too long to read so after reading the first few sentences id say its just ozzie being ozzie. Although if we fall out of contention in this division i hope KW keeps the core guys but not afraid to deal away anyone else because of false hopes we might make playoffs. -
This offense is just gross to watch, i remember the good old days of carlos lee, magglio, frank, a better paulie, and ray durham

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) Two coaches, and counting, now disagree. When Skiles was coach, Tyrus wasnt nearly the the player he is now, so he doesnt even count. Than Jim Boylan/Vinny are probably the 2 worse headcoaches in the league, good case. -
I dont think Infante can make it in the longrun, Id go with the trio of Carter, Hudson, and Upchurch. So HUC?

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 5, 2009 -> 12:17 AM) I could actually see Cinci surprising a few people this year. They went 4-11-1 last year, and that was with Palmer out for most of the year. If he's healthy, I'd say they have a chance at being .500. Not to mention, in terms of pure talent they might have 3 instant starters with their first 3 draft picks.
