  1. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 02:59 AM) 1. There is no god, the bible is full of lies. 2. I have no problem with more strict DUI laws, but the limit should be more than .08. You shouldn't get a DUI for having two beers. Talking on a cell, phone, texting, reading, etc. while driving are a lot worse than having two beers and getting behind the wheel. I also think that there should be a breathalyzer attached to your keys and you have to blow into it before your car starts. 3. Pete Rose shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame, same with Shoeless Joe. 5. Albert Pujols is/was on steroids. 6. Megan Fox is overrated. You dont think that is equally as ignorant as saying there is a god without a doubt? Im agnostic myself but just think its as silly to say without a doubt there is no high power there as it is to say there is.
  2. Has to be Shawshank Redemption and Tommy Boy, there was a time when I knew all the lines to both movies.. To this day I go around asking people how they can be so obtuse.
  3. QUOTE (soxman352000 @ Jul 16, 2009 -> 11:26 PM) Abe Lincoln is overrated. That is all utter blasphemy
  4. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) Chemistry is huge in baseball. Probably bigger in baseball than any other sport, IMO. That makes no sense, how would chemestry be the most important in baseball rather than football/basketball, where you have to actually play as a team to get the job done.

    Jordan4life

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 02:25 PM) Last year at this time I was 250.... now I'm 275 Damn, I must have found some of the weight jordan lost! I have an excuse though, most of my weight gain has been from some severe weight lifting over the past 2-3 years, and I'm a lineman. Also, I'm 6'4", so I'm not a short blob. However, over the next 4 weeks, I'm planning on dropping about 10 pounds... I got a lot of conditioning to do when I get to camp, and I want to be in the best shape I can be. I'm the strongest, fastest, and quickest I've been in my life right now, but right now my conditioning could use some work. I get tired too fast. Lol damn, Im 6'4 and around 200 pounds. I have trouble bulking up though despite my eating habits.
  6. I hope we can bring back Ladd, granted my knowledge of hockey is limited, I think he is incredibly under-appreciated.
  7. I have to admit Im come of a bandwagon fan and was just getting into the blackhawks this last season, that being said Havlat was probably my favorite player so its kind of sad to see him go. Are we going to be able to keep the core of this team together with Huet and Campbell's huge contracts working against us?

    P90X

I was thinking of trying this out today, Im in decent shape but from what I can tell the P90x is pretty intense and involves you to be in good shape almost already before you start it. So, I was thinking of just starting with the P90, and after 90 days switch over. I was also planning to probably just download the videos or something like that, is there anything Id be missing out if I did that as apposed to ordering them through the website?
  9. Is it possible for someone to re-edit the first post and list all our draft picks and than bold their names when signed?
  10. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 10:55 PM) I believe if you add all that they believe is good regarding ethical treatment of animals on one side of the scale and all the harm that BigSqwert is thinking, the good would outweigh the harm. Again, I think your misintepreting what he meant, At least the way I saw it. Peta is a good organization, but sometimes with how ridiculous they get over issues, like the president killing a fly, it hurt's their cause by turning off the general public.
  11. This kind of makes me sad, PETA could be a very positive group if they didn't come off as so ridiculous sometimes. I understand this is a chance to get their name in the news, but unless your an unheard of organization, I don't believe in the concept of any publicity is good publicity.
  12. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jun 20, 2009 -> 12:05 PM) Marty he is only 25 this year so if he makes the bigs by 26 I consider that a late bloomer. There are a few cases. Ryan Howard comes to mind. Hopfully he will continue to rake and get a chance in AAA and maybe a Sep callup. It is not out of the ards as this is kinda a rebuilding year. Ryan Howard would have been in the majors a year or 2 earlier on any other team, the Phillies had Thome blocking him. I like Gartrell, but I don't expect much to be much more than a platoon player on the big league level.
  13. My basement flooded for the first time in the 19 years I lived in my home. There goes my desktop, xbox, sub woofer, and considering i was walking in puddles down there probably the carpet as well. It was a nice surprise to come home too as I was planning on going to a party.
  14. Hopefully now that the Barons lost some of its key players Shelby starts to heat up, always been a favorite of mine and he was the one guy who has been dissapointing so far on that team. I still think between Viciedo, Flowers, Danks, and Shelby that team will be a force to reckon with, Im assuming Cook will be gone when Danks returns. Be interesting to see if Marrero keeps on hitting and turns himself into a legit prospect.
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 08:55 PM) First off, I was the first one who got on the Huddy bandwagon. Just wanted to clear it up Also, with Allen, I think it's a legit possibility we see PK go on the DL sometime within in the next 2 weeks (depending on he and the team are doing) and Allen getting called up (if he's hitting at AAA, I wouldn't be surprised to see him mash while playing in Charlotte's stadium). Lol, there was a Huddy following the moment he was drafted, so dont pat yourself on the back too hard
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) I don't care if the women kept coming back. That makes her incredibly stupid but that doesn't mean she deserves to get beaten. And if she hits him, than marshall should walk the f*** away and never talk to her again. Yes, it really is that simple. I'm not saying it was right, I'm saying the abuse seemingly went both ways, and I don't really feel any sympathy for the lady when she goes on ESPN outside the lines and says how horrible it was and whatnot when she repeatedly went back into an abusive relationship. The reason TO gets all the flack though is because while Plax/Marshall have a lot of, off the field distractions. TO on the other hand has on the field distractions and that is more dangerous for a team to deal with.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) Marshall constantly beats his girlfriend and has cops always visiting his house. He has also had constant run ins with the law. He's far more the thug than Plaxico. I'm not saying Plaxico is amazing. The funny thing is there is TO who everyone b****es about yet he doesn't do anything wrong off the field. Such bulls*** TO gets so much hate. To be fair on Marshall, it seemed that relationship was just a complete mess and they both were hitting each other and what not. I dont really feel bad for the woman though she kept coming back, if it was that bad after the first time or atmost the 2nd time she should of got the f*** out and stayed out.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 04:56 AM) Beckham/Beckman is a simple mistake. Unfortunately, it is a classic mistake made by people who do not follow the Sox regularily. It had nothing to do with knowing English or not. It was a joke, which I am sorry it upset you. However, Kyyle would have had no idea that English was not your first language. How could he? Had you told him before that you didn't normally speak/write in English? I don't recall the conversation. It's not like you've posted a lot here in the last year. There's a difference between kidding and insulting. He kidded you. You insulted and personally attacked. If you are going to use your lack of English language skills as a crutch and a reason to overreact and personally attack others here, you can move on elsewhere. That being said, it is pretty ridiculous how when someone makes a simple mistake it always gets pointed out, it was obvious he meant beckham and didn't need the 100th post making fun of someone who spelled it wrong. If someone makes a post that is unclear to you, it's fine to point that out and tell them you don't understand what they were saying. But, if its pretty clear and you don't really know the poster, no need to point out the small stuff. Obviously my grammar is really poor as well and I don't really take offense to those who point it out in a friendly way, but I can understand it be annoying/upsetting to others.
  19. I thought Jose Contreras had Boras when he first came over, but I guess I was wrong.
  20. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) Wrong. HR's count towards BA, but not towards BABIP. Right but generally for your batting avg. to be around the .400 mark your BABIP has to be around that too.
  21. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) Thanks, JP! Since your planning on emailing him again, when he gives you a response it would be much appreciated if you could post it on Hudson's AAP.
  22. QUOTE (frankiethefixer @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 03:48 AM) In 4 years I'd love to see a line-up of RF- Danks 3B- Beckman LF- Quentin 1B- Allen DH- Viciedo SS- Ramirez C- Flowers 2B- Getz Cf- Mitchell I know it's highly unlikely all the prospects reach their potential but if they do we're set up for a great decade of baseball. I think Getz is a better utility man than he is an everyday player, and obviously not all those guys are going to pan out, but that would be something special.
  23. I wonder if there is any chance we see Hudson in Birmingham this year. Im expecting/hoping that Carter gets the callup once some of the draft picks are signed and whatnot.
  24. He has some easy looking speed, just got a double on what almost everyone on our major league team would have been held to a single. Didnt even look like he was going full out either.
  25. I wonder if some of you eve read the article, he goes on to say he now see's things differently and happy the organization gave him a chance to play so early in his career and praises paulie. But to be honest, if I was traded and on the major league team and couldnt be bothered with a phone call, I would be pretty pissed too.
