QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 09:59 AM) For all I know his life wasnt threatened via mail, email, phone calls and racist remarks from the right field bleachers like the fans at Wrigley did to Jaque Jones, Milton Bradley, Dusty Baker, LaTroy Hawkins etc. Im sure there have been instances, every fanbase is going to have its fair share of creepers. Just remember everytime you knock cubby fans your knocking bulls/bears fans too which most of us on this board also cheer for.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) Yes...cause that was obvious booing towards the front office for the awful decision of leading off Wise. No, obvious for us on this board that it was KW's fault, for the avg fan they were booing Wise. You give people way too much credit.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) The media likes to paint Cubs fans as very loyal followers, rooting for their team through thick and thin. The reality is that they turn on their players quicker than any other fanbase in baseball. Racism, booing, garbage on the field. Those are the true actions of Cubs fans. Are we really any better? Booing DeWayne Wise on just the 2nd day of the season was pretty pathetic.

Im not too worried about the Tigers, Bonderman has never been that good so who cares if he comes back. Verlander struggled all last season and now he is struggling now, why should that change? I will admit that Galaragga(sp?) is a pretty damn good pitcher but besides that, not very pretty.

QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 03:50 AM) Prolly because its still wrong regardless.. What I am interested in is how Steve remembered how much it was. Unless they took the ticket with them. Or asked them if they remembered the Dine and Dash night and they said "yeah asshole, you owe us $54" If your going to have the people who come back arrested, whats the incentive for anyone to actually come back?
-
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 02:53 AM) Wait, you went back and paid the tab???? Couldn't they have had you arrested? I know I would have. Why would you call the cops on someone who came back to do the right thing? Id only call the cops if I saw someone dine and dash and than saw them eating at the restaurant again on a later date.

Its been hard to watch so far, but to be fair Baltimore has a pretty good offense and he was doing fairly well till blowing up at the end. Im willing to give the Count 3-4 more starts before i start jumping off the cliff.

IM on the draft Dar Tucker bandwagon

Yeah, it has happened to my friends gf more than once, extremely s***ty thing to do. The only time Id even think about doing it if the waiter/waitress was a complete b****. Even than, id probably pay the bill and just not leave a tip.

I wonder how long the Contreras experiment will go on, I mean its only been 3 starts so im not overly worried right now.... but if after 3 more he still hasnt had a solid performance going to be a problem.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 21, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) Can you argue with the timeouts he used? No, you can't. One was to draw a play to get the ball to Gordon to tie the game and it worked, though one could argue how good the actual play was once Gordon got the ball. Another one was to stop the bleeding after a Celtics 9-0 run IIRC. It's better to go out with no timeouts left than to have timeouts at the end of the game and lose IMO. That means you exhausted all possibilities. Thats the point though, all his "plays" were to pass the ball to Ben Gordon, our players could have figured that out by themselves, id hope. I was pretty much telling everyone I cant believe Vinny wasted our last timeout so early and its going to cost us, and than ofcourse thats exactly what happens. Not to take away from Ray Allen's shot or anything which was great itself. -

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 02:52 PM) I agree with you on the Sharks. I disagree on the Wings. I think those last two games, as meaningless as they were for the Wings, gave the 'hawks a lot of confidence. By the time they would meet them, they should be over this inconsistency (I hope). But these 'hawks do remind me of the Bulls before Phil Jackson. They are missing one piece that could get them over the hump. I feel the exact opposite, I do not think we stand much of a chance at all vs the Red Wings, but against the Sharks I can see the Hawks being able to upset them. That being said, for now, still have a series to win. -
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 18, 2009 -> 10:18 PM) Jason Statham is rumored to be the next guy to play Daredevil. I could live with that, Statham is good at playing a badass I was perfectly fine with how Ben Affleck played Daredevil, Stratham would be good for a bad guy though, hated Colin Farrel.

good god, this offense is so incredibly hard to watch right now. I dont know how we are managing to win this game given the amount of wasted opportunities. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 16, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) Anyone who's watching, Farmer/DJ just agreed the ump missed the call on Josh, are they right? It was close, I was surprised it seemed the Ump called Fields safe b4 him or the ball got there. -
