QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 12:36 PM) I know I'm a couple weeks late, but Zombieland was f***ing hilarious. I thought it was a very boring movie besides the surprise cameo.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 09:42 AM) Averaging under 100 yards/game isn't all that impressive these days. The TDs are impressive though. Umm having a 1000 yard season isnt overly impressive anymore, having 1500 yards with 22 TD's puts you as one of the top3 rb's in the league no doubt.
  3. QUOTE (Cubano @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 10:18 PM) Contreras got $32 million from the Yanks. He was older than Chapman. Yeah, Contreras was considered to be an instant ace coming into the league while Chapman is still a project. Not too mention the downfall the economy has taken lately and its affect on f/a, no way he gets 60 million.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 10:03 PM) It would never happen, but I don't think because Rocky wouldn't pay. You just can't do that to a big name free agent. The reputation the Hawks would acquire around the league isn't one you would want to have. While that is normally true, when someone is playing as horrible as Huet has.. dont you think other players will see it as justified? Not too mention I think long run as long as you offer them money nobody is going to care what you did in the past.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) The "bad team" argument is pretty irrelevant right now. See that long list of s*** teams I posted earlier. How bout the Redskins who have yet to face a team that had a win going into the game.
  6. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 05:02 AM) Your name gives your allegiance away Right Im not arguing whether or not Im a Bears fan, but I also enjoy Michigan football and was a big Chad Henne fan, wanted the Bears to draft him. On top of that I like the NFL as a whole and catch as many games as possible. So, its not like Im just making a statement without a little backing behind it.
  7. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 02:54 AM) No I am not there, but I have access to people who ARE there and various other sources of information. Like I said, you aren't a fan nor follow them, so I wouldn't expect you to know or understand it. And you have no idea who I follow or what I know, so get off your high horse.
  8. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 07:16 PM) That isn't overrated at all. Chad Pennington is a pure professional through and through. You are trying to tell me that sitting behind Pennington and going through film with him and soaking as much as you can from one of the most accurate and smartest QBs in the league doesn't really matter? It was more than just getting "advice". And it was more than just watching him play too. You also say that a QB is going to be good because of coaching. Well Pennington was like a really good QB coach for Henne so that pretty much bunks your statement that Pennington had little do with it. Plus, you aren't a Dolphins fan you don't follow them, you don't know whats going on. I do. And I can tell you, Pennington was a big part of his development. You being a Dolphins fan doesnt mean your on the sideline and at film sessions and know whats going on, you just read articles like the rest of us do. Pennington is no different than any other veteran QB the Dolphins would have had if they didnt have him. And by coaching I obviously meant actual coaches and even than talent and players around you are bigger factors in a QB's success.
  9. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 05:35 AM) Indeed I am. Also, whats with the Pennington hate? You know he finished second in the MVP voting last season right? QB rating of 97? You guys act like he was some over the hill scrub who was holding Henne back or something. If it wasn't for Chad Pennington Henne might not be where he is right now in his development as an NFL QB. I really think that statement is over-rated in the NFL, a QB is going to be good because of his talents, coaching, and the team around him. The affect of watching another QB play for a season and giving him pointers is going to be minimal. Unless Henne had a maturity issue, drug issue, etc. that Pennington helped him get over he had little to do with the development of Henne. Not too mention, if Pennington wasnt there they would have some other veteran QB on the team giving him advice anyways.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) Randle is a stud. He's going to be a star in college, little doubt in my mind. He's definitely the best player I've seen of the Illinois 2011 kids thus far. Doesnt he have a teamate who is better than him?
  11. Thanks for the links, I hate the fact that in southern illinois we are in Rams territory
  12. anyone know where i can watch the cowboys/denver game online, would be much appreciated.
  13. Hoping the Bears come out today and just completely dominate the Lions, the first 3 games have been very ugly to watch and I dont know if we can keep playing the same way and make the playoffs. Im also very excited to see Roach and Williams starting at LB, not a Hillenmeyer fan one bit.
  14. Can I get a name change to GoodAsGould. Sick of being confused as whitesoxfan101 and soxfan1 and not creative enough to think of anything original.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 05:26 PM) Actually I didn't see any non-Bears fans discouraging posts from other fans, Poster A took issue with the fact that his team was being slighted, Poster B wrote later that this is the "NFL" thread and Poster C wrote that it was still composed primarily of Bears fans so obviously you're going to see more Bears talk than anything else. So you ignored the post about go finding a board with greenbay fans..
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) I think he's trying to say that Favre's career stats right now are better than any other active QB's in the NFL. I think that was pretty obvious from his post as well and some of you need to get a clue. Im a Bears fan as well but this is the NFL thread, I encourage fans from all teams to post on it because it is nice to have outside opinion. If we want to be a bunch of idiot homers the mods can pin a Bears thread or you can post on the Chicago Bears board on nfl.com
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Blaming the D in any way for Week 1's loss is silly, that was on the offense and all the turnovers. I pin the loss on 4 individuals, Nate Vasher/Kevin Payne on the blown coverage, Patrick Mannelly for the horrible decision making, and Lovie Smith for the horrible timeout management.
  18. These last 2 Bears games have been plenty ugly but Ill take a win anyway you can get it, honestly all 3 games the Bears have played pretty poorly imo and been in position to win them all which I guess says something. Ill also add I think our defense played better when Hillenmeyer was taking out because of injury, I know he is smart but he is a liability on the field.
  19. QUOTE (T R U @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 01:51 AM) Its not on the defense, its 100% on that last drive.. 3 minutes to go, 2 time outs and the two minute warning. THEY RAN TWO DRAW PLAYS TO START THAT SERIES!!! How about when Chad Pennington let 30 seconds run off the clock before burning a TO? How about the 3rd and 1 sneak they ran with 20 seconds left and no time outs to get that 1st down? Even WITH all of that they were still moving the ball down the field.. you manage that right and you can actually have a chance to win that game instead of hoping for a miracle last second pass. And yeah, the defense couldn't tackle anyone but Miami had the perfect opportunity to engineer a game winning drive with plenty of time on the clock, and they blew it.. You know as bad as that drive was, Ginn dropped a very catchable ball that should have been a TD. But again, that last drive shouldnt have been necessary if not for the pathetic display of the miami defense. Manning completed 14 passes and he was over 300 yards, they were on the field for less than a quarter..... that loss gets blamed on the miami defense or lack there of.
  20. QUOTE (rangercal @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 12:20 AM) The last possession by the offense is as much to blame as anyone for that loss. I feel for 'phin fans. That drive was very pathetic by the offense, but losing that game is 100% on the defense and I dont know how anyone can see otherwise.
  21. QUOTE (rangercal @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) Gimmick Plays and a Noodle Arm QB could not pull out a game at home despite running over 200 yards and controlling the clock the clock for more than 3 quarters. You dont think the blame shouldnt be put on the miami defense, for being so easily shredded while getting plenty of rest by the "gimmick" offense.
  22. If I was the owner of strikeforce 2 guys Id be looking to bring in our the green/white ranger since he is in mma now and can bring some fanboys and Bobby Lashley who from the fights ive seen looks very impressive and can be a fight for Fedor in the future.
  23. Even with Hasselbeck I thought this would be a very winnable game for the Bears, now that he is either out or playing hurt we really should crush the Seahawks. My hope is that after seeing Frank Gore run for 200ish yards vs them we can finally get Forte cruising and take some heat off Cutler.
  24. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) You think that secondary's gonna be able to hold Atlanta & Arizona eh? I love Bears fans sometimes. Atlanta has 2 receiving threats and one can be covered by a linebacker.... I dont see why you list them near Arizona?
