White Sox vs. Diamondbacks, 3/28/06, 2:05 pm
GoodAsGould replied to Balta1701's topic in 2006 Season in Review
Jenks looked a little better today... fastball was constantly 92-93 although it hit 94 and 95 once. That one swing by Quentin could of been a HR or at least a double if it wasnt for the wind. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Jeremy Reed meet Mark Buehrle. Mark Buehrle, Jeremy Reed. ok?

Podsenick will play against Atlanta. -
QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) Maybe Freddy will put one in Derek Lee's ribs again. I like Derek Lee so I hope he doesnt.... just because he is a Cub doesnt mean he is a bad person or anything lol . Anyways he also was one of the biggest reasons the Marlins beat the Cubs in 03

At least Murphy was calling out Dusty Baker too and everything.
-
The point is we have multiple openings on our 40 man roster and didnt protect him... and everyone knew he would be the 1st pick in the rule 5 draft too. We also knew we had no 2nd lefty at that point so maybe he would of had a shot.
-
But what really doesnt make sense is we had multiple spots open on our 40 man roster.... I have no clue what the WhiteSox organization was thinking.

QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 12:05 AM) my dad threatened to pull this car over and leave me at the side of the road, but it never happened...probably cause we never traveled by trains so we weren't late. parents always threaten with dumb stuff like that... its to get you to shutup and be good.

It didnt look serious at all. he walked off the field fine it just was an akward slide home since Blanco was blocking the plate. -
Yeah this really has been my favorite desktop too. A lot of the others just didnt look that great as a background but this one is perfect.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) Big Willie Style will be the starting 2B and leadoff hitter somewhere by May... Sure he will and Gio wont ever be in the majors, Rowand will be MVP, and Boone Logan wont make the team because he hasnt pitched above a ball.

6 games on WGN is that usual or more than normal?

DET's Justin Verlander and Joel Zumaya
GoodAsGould replied to Flash Tizzle's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 09:09 AM) Big mistake for Detroit if they put Zumaya in the pen, and don't let him start down in AAA. But they obviously want to win now, which is why Verlander got the 5th starter's job. If he can give em around a 4.00 ERA, their rotation suddenly looks not too bad at all. I'm just not convinced that their offense is as "good" as the experts say it is. Was it a big mistake when we did it with Buehrle and Garland. And now doing it with B-Mac? -
Right now I like your odds... but nothing is guaranteed lol like someone said with George Mason.
-
While ill take Thome now just because no way Frank will stay healthy for a whole season... When healthy Thomas just has that presence in the batters box that no one on the whitesox currently including Thome can compare too.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) Thanks, I didn't know that. :headshake I wasn't being serious AT ALL. It's just comical how bad this inning is, and you just want to make sure that no one gets injured (or Uribe gets hit in the head with a pop up). Yeah but in spring training that reasoning doesnt make sense.... because who cares what the score is....
-
I know this inning isnt all his fault and some of it is bad luck and bad defense..... but Lumsden's stuff doesnt seem nearly as "electric" as its been advertised.
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) Recap | Box score Looks like Lumsden will make the start tommorow.... thats good I can finally get to see this kid with a supposed golden arm.

Bruce Levine: "Sox interested in Juan Cruz"
GoodAsGould replied to SSH2005's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It might take an entire season but I think Coop can fix Thornton and make him a very good arm out the bullpen.... Especially since it seems Coop has been following this guy for awhile. -
2 bad this game isnt on TV.

Bruce Levine: "Sox interested in Juan Cruz"
GoodAsGould replied to SSH2005's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) Now I know that ST stats don't mean much, if anything at all. But just for your comparison... Juan Cruz's ST stats Matt Thornton's ST stats Im a little confused on what you are trying to prove.... Everyone knows of the 2 that Cruz is a much better player than Thornton. But Thornton cost us Joe Borchard who might not even of made our team and than would of been gone for free anyways.....Cruz the starting asking price was Brian Anderson, while obviously we wont give up that much you better bet that at the very least a Josh Fields would be involved. -
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 06:47 PM) Keyshawn will be a decoy for Steve Smith. Delhomme only knows how to pass to Steve Smith. He only knows how to pass to one reciever.... if Smith goes down than he will only pass to Keyshawn. Thats how Muhsin had a great season.
