Pittsburgh is starting to have a solid rotation and maybe if Kip Wells wasnt out they could have a chance... but they are still a year or 2 away from making serious noise.

yeah people think the tights are ugly really whats the point of banning them... the NBA and NFL are starting to piss me off.....

I kind of disregard everything Vitale says.... he is the one complaint I have against college basketball.... the guy is annoying as hell and id wish he would go away.

Im a big fan of this... Im guessing it will be enforced more than last time because of the smoking ban in Chicago now and everything. Only a year and it will be effective in Cook County too which will be great.

Thats what I like about baseball and basketball.... the rookies and draft picks and everything have to earn the big money.... in the NFL you get what 18 million right away....

they are really only extending the contracts by 1-2 years.... but all these contracts are pretty cheap overall so in those 1-2 years it will save them a lot of money. Also it keeps their players happy too knowing that if you perform well you will get some money.

Is this typical of Thome to hit his HR's in bunches?

If its just a week or 2 max I think we can get by fine by platooning Mackowiak and Ozuna but if its going to be over a month I hope they give Owens a chance.

Yeah really the only dissapointments from spring training have been Iguchi which we have Cintron for just in case and than Hermanson.

I think this kid is going to carry his success from spring training on to the majors.... Im glad we went with him over Lopez. I also think our bullpen will be better than many think.... B-Mac might start off a little slow but he will adjust to the pen and be a good arm we can trust and I think Thornton will improve as the season goes on kind of like Vizcaino was for us. Also now im not 2 worried about Jenks... Hawk said when he saw him in spring last year his velocity was way down too so its not like it just came out of no where he lost his velocity and he looked pretty good his last outing.

Brian Anderson made the list at 42, they said his k's were something to worry about but shouldnt be too big of a problem. Even though he isnt a whitesox anymore Chris Young was in the low 20's I think and they said he should become a solid 30-30 guy. They also listed the top 10 prospects who didnt make the list 51-60 and Ryan Sweeney was at 60 so with a good start he should be on the list when they redo it at midseason.
