QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) You call that mediocre? How much must you suck to be called bad? Edinger was awful yesterday, he took the Vikings out of the game yesterday much in the same way that he used to take the bears out of the the game last year. He missed short, relatively easy fieldgoals. Actually he had 2 blocked and 1 the place holder mishandled... While in the later situation he did finally get the ball down smoothly its understandable that it messed up Edingers motion. And when a kicker gets blocked twice some of and in this case most of the blame goes to the Vikings O-Line because our guys dominated them.

QUOTE(whitesoxgt @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) dats what ive been trying to say all year long, but no one listened to me. everybody kept saying that Pods was gonna be with the Sox for many years 2 come. dont get me wrong that would be awesome, but someone like Jerry Owens shouldn't be in the Minors he would be great to have in the clubhouse next year. Sox should get rid of Carl Everett, Geof Blum, Willie Harris. Jerry Owens should take one of those spots, Dont forget bout Brian Anderson. :-D What are you talking about.... I think almost everyone thinks that after his contract is up I think after next season Pods will be gone.....So Pods should be there next year but after that Id think he would be gone and thats probably what most people think too.

Early heart troubles for Curry?

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 05:01 AM) Basketball is a sport that is loved so much by some, that is is an addiction. Some people don't stop playing basketball, full-well knowing it could actually be doing their body harm and could lead to death. Yet they continue to play. The situations seem very similar to me. There are more people on earth that enjoy tobacco over basketball, tobacco kills exponentially more people than basketball does, basketball is a physical activity while tobacco requires absolutely no physical activity whatsoever...but I see a correlation, atleast between this situation. Eddy Curry can continue to do something he loves, something he is "addicted" to, while risking his life doing it. I can continue to use tobacco, something I love and am addicted to, while risking my life doing it. Except if you stop Tobacco all you get is the money you save not wasted on Tobacco... if Curry stops he gets paid 20 million. -
I love watching the actors in movies but why the hell would I care during their personel life....

Wow a lot of those movies on the list were crappy and I dont even know why make sequels and ever sometimes a 3rd one.....Although the one that looks interesting is the Hannibal one....It can be really bad but it also might be very interesting..

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:50 AM) Maddox was 11-28 with a TD and 3 interceptions. He also fumbled an easy snap on the Jaguars 30 yard line just trying to set up for a game winning field goal in OT. Then when the Steelers got the ball back, he immediately throws a pass right to the Jaguars who had an easy run back to win the game in OT. He singlehandedly lost the game for the Steelers. The Bears have had some bad QB'ing, but this was below even a Cade McKnown type effort. You do realize Orton had a 5 Int and a fumble game this season and last season Jonathon Quinn was our QB? and than our savior... yes our savior last season was Chad Hutchinson... trust me you dont know how low it can get. -
Im glad to say that I was on the Ozzie bandwagon the whole time... just like I was on the Garland bandwagon and Cotts one But yeah today I was questioning when he brought in Contreras for the 8th... but than I wanted him out there in the 9th so was happy about that.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) lmao, Tommy Maddox, just wow. You can't have a worse day. Passer rating of 30.06. Just wow. You do realize most of us here are Bears fans here.... and you can have much worse days. -
During this whole series he has actually gone opposite field a lot....Maybe that has helped his hitting in general even though both his HR's were towards LF.
-
Id say Konerko with those HR's but Crede has to be a close 2nd.... and than the umps not 2 far behind

QUOTE(LDF @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) name your 7 sp's. i would like to see them listed. farnsworth - you may be right about that. i got carried away. bj is the man i want, no if and or buts about that. you can never have too many rp's. my suggestion was and still is, i wouldn't be too sad to see any of those players gone. but in ref to cotts and cliff, i would be happy if they are still here. however packaging them for a nice trade wouldn't be a bad idea, if one is there. While adding BJ would indeed be nice if you lose Cotts and Cliff also our bullpen has only gained 1 good pitcher and lost 2..... And 7 SP's.... Buehrle,Garland,Garcia,Contreras,B-Mac,El Duque, and in your plan Burnett......If El Duque isnt coming out of the pen for us he will be a starter for another team and prob be the backup starter for us if one of those 5 go down.

Look what the Sox offered for Billy Wagner
GoodAsGould replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) You definitely make a good point but remember the Red Sox had one of the worst bullpens in baseball and from what I heard Wagner is one guy they were willing to give up the world for. Meh, pointless argument anyways because we'll never know. Exactly their weakness was no closer and crappy bullpen...... Bring in Wagner and that rookie kid they had.... all of a sudden its a 6 inning game with Timlin there too. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) ^^^^ And I also doubt that Boston offered Arroyo, a cheap, league average starter, Youkilis, who will probably be their 3B next year, and Shoppach, who's still somewhat of a decent prospect, for a reliever. Idonno thats not 2 hard to believe that Boston offered that... Arroyo is just that average and Shoppach is nothing special and Youkilis will already be like 27 next season.... only reason he is a known player is thanks to money ball. -
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) Didn't stop some people here from annointing him the next Unitas. Who knows what he will become its still his rookie year.... Unitas probably wasnt that good his first year

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) If you could know now what will kill you, would you take the test? Many people would not. I can understand him not taking the test. Plus at that point, if he takes the test he loses a freedom and liberty we take for granted, a choice in careers. I wouldnt want to know everything on the Test and Id give the bulls only permision to look at the heart problem they are looking for.... and when your getting paid that much money maybe you do deserve to lose some of that freedom. -
Yeah it is really an unreal type atmosphere.... but Ill say one thing Freddy G always gives me heart attacks... I wasnt comfortable until the 4 run lead and than they showed vizcaino and marte.... which got me scared again
-
I saw Fog and it was the dumbest movie Ive ever seen... and I go to the theaters almost every Friday so im there a lot which is saying something. I saw the original and it wasnt that bad but the remake is just beyond horrible.
-
I normally dont care for him but but next to McCarver he is the best announcer ever... not 2 mention Lou Piniella is not good up there either.... although he has noticably improved since game 1.
-
OLIVO =p.... the real question is how is Buehrle, Garland, and Freddy G all men among boys?

QUOTE(LDF @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) hell i should throw in my 2 cents worth. resign pk sign - fucral young ss, make uribe trade bait. sign - b j ryan (you could never have enuf pitching esp from rp. if bj doesn't sign go after farnsworth. sign aj burnett if the price is right. ok, i am not too sure on of'ers on if we really need one. trade or bye bye viz, marte, cotts, adkins, timo, and/or cliff. i am really not too sure what to do with big frank So you want us to have 7 starters and than possibly sign a guy that clearly crumbles under pressure in Farnsworth. And why trade Cliff or Cotts who we both have next year and been 2 of the better RP's this season for us.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 04:41 AM) So your argument is that he should walk away from the game and never play again? My argument is he take the DNA test and accept the outcome.... if he passed he would of been able to be paid 70 million and play for his home town team if not he would get paid 20 million to stay away from a game that could kill him....... Whats to feel bad about.....I feel bad for Paxson for doing everything possible to comfort Eddy and getting only his negative attitude because of it. -
Idonno I still would live to give Crede 1 more season... at first I was for signing Mueller... but I like to give Crede one more go... he actually had put together good months... now just needs to lessen the bad ones.

Im a Curry hater.... wow maybe you want to look at the threads during the NBA season last year.....ask WHarris or Qwerty... I am a huge fan of what Curry brings.... but feel bad for a guy that is getting paid 60 million and would of been paid 20 million to sit on his ass at home? Im sorry but no good. I used myself because you said he loves to play the game.... Well so do I whats your point...... -
He has gradually become a better GM and now I dont think there is a guy Id rather have running things than KW..... hopefully Ozzie keeps improving too
