QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 04:04 AM) Those three new commercials--Paulie, Shingo/Iguchi, and Buerhle, are the WORST Sox commercials in a long time. They really dropped the ball on these, and I hope they don't do anymore of these "Angel on the L" commercials. They're just dumb. I think they are kind of funny, but I definitely liked the original commercials better.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 03:58 AM) Timo is one of our best bunters on the team as much as i hate to say it. as much as i hate the guy being on our team that bases loaded bunt was awesome -
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 03:54 AM) But we've got Ben Gordon. dont you mean Air Gordon
-
whats in Colorado though? it seems like a boring place.
-
You know it does seem like there is always a decent amount of sox fans when we are on the road, maybe its because of WGN and they decided not to like the cubs or the Braves on TBS. We do get a lot more national attention than a lot of teams thanks to WGN.

QUOTE(MnSoxFan @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 03:38 AM) I do not want a catcher or a local pitcher drafted in first round. Catchers rarely pan out, and local pitchers rarely pan out. Just say no. I agree on catchers, but I think local pitchers are fine... Honel's problem isnt because he is local its because he can barely reach 80 on his fastball.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) Well, he must have been doing something right in college -- over 11 K's/9 in both years, he was obviously fooling someone... college is a little different than the minors or majors. Hell different sport but in football how many heisman winners end up being nobodies in the NFL......
-
isnt Townsend's fastball really straight too? I just hear so many good stuff about this Cesar Carillo kid and the fact he is a white sox fan is just a plus. And for those people who like wins this kid is a proven winner as anyone... i mean damn he has 1 loss his whole college career and that happened this year.
-
I dont think he will ever be a top of the order rotation guy but I think he could be a solid #3 and he has a high chance of making the majors. and really at his age projections of where he will be is dumb, many of the aces never projected to be aces... example being Johan Santana, hell Rich Harden was a 17th round pick and he has some of the nastiest stuff ive seen. Saying a guy has no chance to be a top of the order pitcher is a little dumb when they havent thrown 1 pitch yet in the minors or majors.

i have barry bonds and magglio on the DL not too mention Oliver Perez has sucked the whole year mostly and Ben Sheets hasnt been good either and also injured still 2nd place though

I cant believe people are suggesting to take away the parking???? Is it just me or does that sound utterly stupid :headshake
-
I think they should play in the shaumburg flyers stadiums so its only 5 minutes away from me, and right by a train stop

QUOTE(bulokis @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) I loooooove high socks. Pods wears it, Uribe often does. And now Aaron and Crede, it looks good on them. I dont remember seeing Uribe in high socks he always seems to have kind of baggy pants.

11% increase and the yanks havent come to town yet which almost guarantee sell outs.... so that should put us up even more.
-
Id like to keep both, but if 1 had to go it has to be Everett, he was on fire for like 1-2 weeks and than has been pretty crappy since.
-
Yeah he is a complete stud, on the one hand I like to watch him pitch but than on the other hand Im glad we miss a pitcher of that calibur.
-
well our attendence could be worse look at this... Twins vs Tribe 20,739 for 2nd game 17,351 for 3rd game and they have won the division for 3 years in a row, have no competition in the city especially since no basketball or football is going on and they actually won a WS that the fans alive today can remember.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 04:07 AM) I've been to 12 games this year and not once have I seen the starter do long toss with AJ. Always Man Soo. Oh no are you saying that all our starters hate AJ and wont work with him well? seriously we have a good catcher now but last year we might as well used Man Soo as our major league catcher.
-
I watched a game and decided arena football sucked... but our QB seems to be one of the better ones..... anyways dont the Rush always make the playoffs?
-
I have to say Contreras should be our 4th starter... mostly because in the playoffs he would only need to give us 6 innings... most of his trouble seems to come in the 7th.
-
Yeah I love MVP, and if they could do a game for the minor leagues only I might of bought it it, but I dont know any college players so wouldnt be worth it really. So ill be playing MVP 2005 for a long time.. Just the thought of metal bats make me not want to buy the game :banghead
-
Just as impressive as the 2 HR's are the 2 walks... I hope this helps him turn it around because it seems today he was seeing the ball better.
-
1 more win and we are 20 games above .500.... les get it done
-
It got really bad really fast... luckily i just finished mowing the lawn b4 it happened.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 07:39 AM) I am sure by tomorrow there will be another 100 posts in here (50 of which wil be useless like Jabroni's and out of the other 50, hopefully 10 of them will hint at what we are trying to understand here). Its not like your posts havent been useless in this thread either... basicly creating 9 pages of garbage. Anyways... JR isolated a lot of fans in the 90's with the strike and white flag trade and we have lost a lot of those fans forever maybe. Also its not like sox games are cheap and the parking is brutal... especially when the avg. fan is apposed to be a blue collar worker. Cant you just be happy that attendence is up from last year, and a playoff appearance would most definitely increase attendence for next year. I mean if I was a casual fan and saw the white sox start off strong 2 years in a row just to lose to the twins... I might not want to go to the ballpark either. Also im not calling you out for not being able to go to the games, just think this thread is useless, especially since its been discussed so many times.
