QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:58 AM) I bow down to the Cocks tonight. He was the key to winning the game. If your going to bow down to a guy you should probably call him by the right name Only people who call him Cocks are immature kids or Aboz

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:55 AM) I remember about a month ago, all the starters were mimicking Buehrle. Pitching quickly, not shaking off the signs. They were all very effective using this strategy. All four of them are back to their slower ways, and it shows. Even Garland has slowed down. I wouldnt say that, Garland actually pitched really well vs the angels just some shaky defense and the 0 runs our offense scored against Ervin Santana... Than Texas did dominate him but Texas was on a tear so its not like its a huge surprise.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) watching...I have the sound turned down though... Indians left fielder made a really nice play I started watching it only to see Burke make that mistake by trying to get the runner out at 2nd and than B-Mac giving up 3 run HR... i than decided to turn it off.

are you watching the game or listening to it?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) If we had mike d'antoni we would not have the same record. He doesn't preach defense ( which is by far the bulsl stong point) he doesn't have a '' i am the coach you sit down and listen to me attitude'' like skiles does. You don't think nearly every coach in the league could say '' run the ball through nash''. He has been about two of the best offenses in modern basketball and it is probally not a fluke. Do you think byron scott, bernie bickerstaff, or mike montgomery would has done nearly as well here as skiles has done? Did I say Skiles is a bad coach, i just said injuries didnt really factor into the season until the end when we were almost guaranteed a playoff spot and that give credit to pax and the players too.

QUOTE(southsider17 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) He seems to be a good clutch hitter ..... and that's it. He's very slow and his fielding sucks. he hit a lot of clutch hits last year it seems... this year besides the angels he hasnt been clutch at all... with that hit against the angels i think it makes him 1 out of 8 in pinch hit situations.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) Some of our greatest advancements lead directly to this... Calculators as a crutch. -- Honestly there is so little to no need for calculators in a school environment. The object is to learn, not to punch in some numbers in a keypad and regurgitate what it tells you. How many times have you been to a store and some idiot store clerk cant figure out how to make change because you tossed in a few pennies? Calculators can be a great resource, but too often they are relied on for even the most basic of calculations.. And when you say "But, I'm bad at math" Isn't one of the main reasons because you never bothered to learn and just punched away at your calculator keypad? The Internet -- Talk about a great resource. My High School first got widely connected to the Internet my in my senior year. It should come as no surprise that I completely plaigurised my 12 page research paper that we were all required to do that year. Back in the day, it wasn't even thought of to combat against stuff like that. SoxFan was asking for help for one of his classes just yesterday. What did kids do before the Internet? I don't even remember. While people tend to go dependent on calculators there is a lot of need for them in school. Idonno what math you were in but in Trig/Pre-Calc... some of the stuff is impossible without calculators. As for a clerk not being able to figure out the math... there is a reason he is a clerk isnt there? And there are a lot of anti-plagiurism sites teachers can use now that prevent most kids from cheating. A course some get by without being caught but Id say when its on an important paper 70% of the time or more the student will be caught depending on how much he plaigurised. And if caught they get dropped from the class which is a pretty big deal. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:59 AM) I don't take celebrity denials as adding to or detracting from the veracity of a report. Bonds, like many celebrities, could spend his entire day denying statements. I wonder if he meant by white people, Ron or the people who would benefit? And he could have easily said not to opponents. He said basicly the whole locker room was there including Dusty and after Bonds left they all signed some crap and gave him some crap for the kids.... So like I said b4, if he says all those people were there and none of them deny it... it leads you to believe that what he said was the truth, except part of him kicking Bonds ass... he would of been owned.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) He's not that good? He turned a team in the toilet to a playoff team, despite huge injury problems, and a lack of a front line scorer. There isn't a coach alive who could have gotten more blood out of this turnip than Scott Skiles did. The only way the Bulls fail with Skiles at the helm is if the core players go back to being selfish idiots who won't listen. And if that happens, it isn't Skiles fault. We really didnt have injury problems till late into the season, yes Skiles helped turn us around but give credit to the players and our gm too...
-
I just worry that his style of coaching might eventually piss the players off... than we would have a s***ty pissed off team and an over-paid coach.... Ill always thank Skiles for turning the Bulls in the right direction but I honestly wouldnt mind another coach to take us the rest of the way... I cant think of names right now but the Timberwolves ex-coach comes to mind.

Seahawks cut K. Robinson; Chiefs cut J. Morton

Id Love for the Bears to make a run at one of these guys... preferably Robinson.... Morton hasnt been that good for awhile. -
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) But they got blamed for everything that goes wrong on the team. I tell you what, Pay me 2 million dollars for a year and Ill coach the bulls and if we win only 20 games you can blame me all you want. Athletes and coaches are the biggest babies in the world, they get paid so much and b**** about so little.

I thought about it... I dont mind giving up B-Mac as the main prospect to land Chavez... Guys id like to protect our Sweeney, Anderson, and Gio... other than that I say do what it takes to get Chavez. Not saying I dont like B-Mac but its obvioulsy going to require him... and Im willing to lose him. -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) see: Juan Gonzalez well not really, b4 just had a bad infection, than got beamed in the head... more bad luck than injury prone.

I think think coaches shouldnt even be paid over 2 million... they work for what half a year and unlike players they dont have to work out as much or have risk of injury.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) you're saying he isnt trying to fix his swing? thats just not true. theres no way a paul konerko is sitting back and being CONTENT with a .230 average He is fixing his swing but he isnt fixing his swing approach... To be successful you have to hit both ways Konerko says he is a pull hitter and thats it. -
Lol its funny how Frank and him are 2 former MVP's both start season on DL, both come back relatively same time and both hurt themselves on their 1st day back... At least Franks was nothing serious and he be in the lineup against cleveland prob.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) He doesn't hit 25% of the time. He hits like 21% of the time. Oh, and I've been calling for Randa for quite a while. Maybe we should bring back Herbert Perry Where is he anyways? Last i saw of him he was with the rangers last year. -
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) Ummm, Cotts started out as starting pitcher. Gagne also started out as a starting pitcher before he became a closer. I know capt. obvious the point is he isnt a starter now... All RP's are failed starters.. well most are... So as a RP you dont need to have as good control or as good as "stuff" as a starter would.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) i hate reading stuff like this. this is a guy who has really carried this team for the last few years and he's a great guy. he's in a slump, ok, we know how that works. but he's also got talent and he works hard. this wont be 2003 again. When has he ever carried the team?... in 2003 he totally sucked.. in 2004 He helped but Carlos Lee and Rowand were better offensively and he is hitting like .223 this year... the reason for the RBI's is because Iguchi and Pods have been so dynamite leading off not because he has been good. Pauly has never carried the team, and like I said he seems like a nice guy but he isnt nice enough to pay him 10 million. Borchard works hard too should he be a starter for us too? -
well if you find me the percantage of winning 1 game in the 9th inning when your tied or down... ill tell you what our chances of 3 9th inning game winners in a row is.
