I'm really opening up to the idea of signing Springer.
-
Some of the trade requests in this thread are pretty outlandish. If we can acquire German Marquez for a trade similar to what the Padres did to get Clevinger, I'm in. No way do we trade Vaughn (unless it's in a mega deal where we get Arenando). I'd 100% be OK with a trade involving Kopech and not many other pieces. I'd prefer a trade involving Cease + 4 or so more prospects No way am I trading Madrigal/Vaughn or more than Kopech

Colorado doesn't trade SP. Won't happen. They can't get SPs to sign there, so they have to keep the decent ones they have.
-
The white sox won't and should not trade Nick MAdrigal. We have a ton of other prospects we can trade np and there's no immediate impact SP on the block that makes sense. Lance Lynn is NOT the guy you trade top prospects for. Would have much rather had Clevinger at his price. Even DeGrom at this point is too old. Blake Snell? Perhaps, but I think he's a FA in a couple years or something, so that makes no sense either.
-
why do you think MAdrigal needs to be involved in that trade? thats overkill
-
haha it would be so sad if the white sox signed TLR as manager and spent 0 in offseason.
-
Is JAckie Bradley Jr. good? I know there's been positives and negatives for him i could see a situation where he'd be great for us and exactly what we need, but i can also see the opposite it isn't a very sexy 'get'
-
Woodruff is the only starter that makes sense. Most other starters are too old or have too few years left on contracts to trade a guy like Vaughn. As Chicago White Sox said, getting Bauter in free agency fixes a LOT of our stress/problems.
-
Lindor's probably going to the Dodgers or Mets or Yankees. Outside chance maybe the Angels or Phillies? But why can't we make a crazy move like this. I have 0 faith the W'sox get it done, but whatever
-
guys can we just make a big move like this and acquire a star sign him up for 10+ years and be super loaded
-
This was posted in the "Offseason" topic, but I feel this deserves it's own thread here for the following reasons: 1) Cleveland, one of our main rivals, is effectively giving up for 2021. Letting Hand go, and now trading Lindor. 2) Is there anyway we can sneak into this and get lindor? Send Moncada to RF? 3) The early thought is that the trade will be pennies on the dollar. Anyone have predictions on where lindor will go and for whom?

Would LOVE Ozuna. He showed last year what kind of hitter he really is. He would destroy with the White Sox. Terrible fielder tho and we really could use a left hander... but my god Ozuna can rake. .300++ hittter with huge power.
-
Ive been wanting lynn and gallo since last year, but that trade is stupid you dont trade madrigal
-
Sometimes i wonder how the diamondbacks stole zac gallen when he was having a breakout year... imagine geyting that type of youth and talent in the rotation
-
Robbie Ray? But, why? Why not Stroman or Quintana over Ray? Ray is awful to me.
-
Sox expected to be a "little bolder financially" than most

I don’t think tgat trade is bad assuming that Milwaukee opts for rebuilding but they could probably do better selling hader and yelich individualy -
Kelenic is too good now... would need to trade way too much to acquire him and even then ... he may just be untouchable
-
I agree -- I'd love Stroman. But I'd really love Stroman + Bauer :).
-
If we can grab Bauer, this offseason looks a lot better than if we don't grab him. IMO we really need a TOP of the rotation starter, not just bandaids and hold-me-overs. Kind of Bauer or bust IMO. A successful offseason without Bauer or a top of rotation starter would look like a Top tier RF bat like Conforto/Gallo/Ozuna/Springer + 2 mid level arms like Stroman/Quintana + Bullpen help I think that's kinda a tough ask. But to get Bauer + a good RF option isn't too much to fathom
-
Can we go get Charlie Morton, Brad Hand, Kolten Wong (for the hell of it) plz
-
I'll be mad when the Front office decides to bring in Quintana as our top 'get' this offseason and we go into the season with a hole in RF and no real added pitching stars. I'll give you TLR if you give me good players! Do it.
-
Looking like this was the right way of thinking, unfortunately.
-
TLR would suck, i'd be disappointed, but I agree that this is not the hill to die on. Let's see them spend some money and get some quality players to go along with their dumbass managerial decision. I'd be ok with that. Either TLR will fail hard and we all will be right and then it's time to be pissed off. Or he won't get in the way and he'll be better than rickey was and we improved. Now if the brass doesn't spend money... that will piss me off.
-
This is beyond absurd. I hope it never comes to fruition.

My interest in Stroman has increased since reading his tweets on his performance.
