Have no problem with the philosophy if it's for an actual quality get for longer than a half-year pandemic riddled season. Lance Lynn is phenomenal right now. But he's old, a FA soon, and is not worth saying goodbye to any of our guys unless it's the lower levels. I think if a trade is made for Lynn, white sox or not, the return for him is going to be a lot less than what people expected. He won't net a lot given the situation. Now... if you want to talk a player like DeGrom who can reshape our rotation for the next 3+ years, yeah -- then you trade kopech/etc.

Talk of trading Madrigal/Kopech in any trade for Lynn is laughable. Madrigal is our 2b, he's untouchable. Kopech is untouchable unless your name is Jacob DeGrom. If we are getting Lynn it's going to be for Stevier or lower level players.

No idea what it would look like, personally I'd try to keep Kopech/Vaughn at all costs, but yeh - wouldn't be off the table completely. Degrom is the piece that turns our rotation into dominance for the long term. All other options might help a lot this year but long term have no hope.

DeGrom would be my ideal candidate as well. He's maybe the only one in the league I'd be willing to give up worthy pieces for. My stance is more a long the lines of there isn't much of anything out there that makes us better than what we have, especially mid to long term.

Give me DeGrom, Clevinger, Hader or Lynn (for extremely cheap). Otherwise, I don't want garbage.
