  1. I was very unclear writing that, but I'm not suggesting adding a minor piece. In my above post I added Andjuar.
  2. I wanted to avoid it because it makes my initial post in this thread moot... but NYY give up: Andujar, Sheffield, Frazier GET: Kluber NYY Sign Machado and Corbin Boom, NYY wins 2019 WS :p.
  3. Sorry SoxBadger, can't help on the S vs. X. I'd get the better one if the price is anywhere close, tho... 'cause, why not? I've heard good things. Anyone here have Fortnite on XBOX? I'm a big time player and while I'm not some super deluxe builder type pro, I've got my fair share of wins... something like 175+ Squad wins, 20 duos and 30 solos with a *real* k/d ratio around 1.0 which I consider to be slightly above average but not great. https://fortnitetracker.com/profile/xbox/iWin4Prep If anyone here plays fortnite on XBOX I wouldn't mind teaming up with them from time to time to play some duos or they can be part of my squads games which we tend to do really well.
  4. A package involving C. Frazier and J. Sheffield + another nice piece could get it close/done. Kluber is decling and getting old...
  5. I'm *really* not worried about the Yankees... Signing Machado puts him in their loaded infield.. I mean they have Didi, Andujar, Torres, and backups. Sure, DiDi is hurt long-term, but is it really worth NYY paying Machado 30 mill annually because Didi is hurt in 2019? Their highest priority is their SP. They have a juggernaught of an offense already. Sure, they could trade some players, but if I'm the Yankees I am holding Andujar and Torres as they are both exceptional and their contracts indicate that they are fantastic wins for the Yanks. Instead, I forsee them going after a kluber/Pax and a Corbin. Adding Kluber + Corbin to their team would be their best offseason moves financially.
  6. Any links to the 30 teamer site? I seem to recall there being a site that I once checked out.
  7. As CWSpalehose stated, Martes was a highly sout offer prospect as recent as 2017. He was ranked 15 in all of baseball at this time. Sure, he had his injury and struggled in his first go around, but this wasn't some flyer, this was a high caliber prospect... I'm not sure of comparisons or ranks, but #15 in all of baseball has to be close to what Cease/Kopech range. Getting something like that back for Avi, who is oft-injured, and undefined, and getting out of our time line... is pretty damn good. Not only that, but F. Martes is basically 'ready' within the next year.
  8. I'd rather have Corbin just because we don't have to give up prospects for him + Paxton is one of the most injured pitchers that comes to mind (from fantasy baseball experience). With that being said, if we somehow got Paxton, I'd LOVE watching him pitch, that guy strikes out everyone. I'd be his number one fan. Both are risky, but both represent huge benefits. Obviously, neither of them matter worth a damn if we don't get Harper and/or Machado this offseason.
  9. So far it seems the interest is not here for another fantasy league on this site. Really would need more like 11 other managers to express serious interest asap, otherwise I will probably go elsewhere.
  10. Yes please! Gold Glove defensive CF that can hit/run when he can somehow stay on the field. If he can be had for anything cheap we should be all over it as a replacement to Engel. Anyway, I'm on board with looking at the Reds 3b options, but last year they were moving Senzel around (prior to his injury if I recall). I'm sure there not in a rush to trade him. Maybe a trade involving Rodon as our centerpiece for their Senzel? I'm not sure.
  11. Yeah -- I don't really get the sentiments of them holding out a la a Mike Moustakas from last year. I think they will sign early, because everybody in the market knows that they are the marquee signings... teams need to know if they are getting them or not to build the rest of their offseason. Just my guess... but they'll sign in the next 2 months methinks.
  12. Very well put. Good player, not a fit right now. I can see that being changed if we make a few substantial signings (for instance harper/Machado ++) as then his high OBP could be of great use, but as our team is constructed now, without Machado/Harper, we aren't going anywhere so no to Brantley.
  13. Yeah, I recall the dialogue going on last year. I'd be interested in hearing/seeing the leagues. The big one I recall from last year had me a bit weary due to just how massive it was.
  14. Hi SoxTalk friends, NOTE: I would have posted this in the PTC/Fantasy part of the board, however that board virtually never gets seen by most posters here, especially now (off season). I am in the process of finding my audience for my long-term fantasy league. The set up is built for competition: Roto style league (potential to switch to H2H, not finalized yet) with 12-14 teams, sabremetrically inclined statistics (not finalized yet), deeper rosters (with a potential small minor league roster). There will likely be a buy-in to make sure people remain competitive throughout. The goal is a year over year league where it remains consistent for the very long foreseeable future (I'm thinking of keeping this league with me for decades. The league will likely NOT be a dynasty league where you have some 30++ players on your team forever, as I do enjoy a good draft, but there will be some form of a keeper element to it. I'm tentatively thinking something like 5-8 keepers at their Auction value + $3 year over year. The league would likely be hosted on Yahoo unless I find better services elsewhere. Anyway, the details of the league are not as important right now -- but I wanted to give an indication of where I plan on going with it. I need to see serious interest in 11-13 other SoxTalk posters here to start my league here.
  15. Welp, putting my realistic shades on... Corbin would be a nice get for the White sox. W'sox biggest problem right now is pitching, and he is a youngish (29 yo) pitcher that pitched extremely well last year. I haven't looked into his peripheals at all, but man does this scream risk! Lots of money here for him. Wouldn't it be better to grab 2 SP like the Japanese import and say Garret Richards or Gio Gonzales for the price of 1 (Corbin) and even potentially save money? Either way, I just hope that this still means they are going all out for Harper/Machado.
  16. First trade of the offseason for the Marineers Mike Zunzio for Mallex Smith essentially.
  17. It's absolutely reasonable to expect a drop off due to Age, but I got to stress just how good Nelson Cruz has been these past few years. This guy is not normal per the aging curve, this guy has been a beast of a hitter. This guy has shown almost no signs of regression. Not saying it won't happen, but if anyone deserves the benefit.. it's him, just look at his league leading stats in the past 5 or so years.
  18. Huh? The primes for baseball players generally are the age 27-28 seasons. It's very reasonable that both Harper and Machado put up their best numbers in the next 2-3 years.
  19. Yup, I think those 2 scenarios are the "aim" of the offseason for the White Sox. It offers a lot of potential now and for the future. I also think the W'Sox are serious about both of them, I mean, if you can get both of them you just do it and don't worry about the rest of the roster reconstruction. These 2 players are dynamic generational talents entering their primes and immediately turn the Sox into a sensation. My mouth waters just thinking about that.
  20. I think the best option is Machado + Harper together. Not necessairly for this year... but for the next and following. If that's not on the table, then one of them + a handful of replacement players could work. While I like Corbin, I think his $$$ is going to be a problem. I'd prefer something like Machado + Cruz + Ja Happ / The Japanese player + 2 of the relievers on the market (note: Not kimbrel, too expensive and likely to implode).
  21. Why? I mean, I was 100% down with trading Abreu last year (especially to the rockies, seems like a natural fit), and I am still semi-down with trading him this year, but why would a Cruz signing make you want to trade Abreu? Wouldn't signing Cruz (and I'd assume Machado) make us want to keep Abreu to field the best line up?
  22. So, Riddle me this one, just following the results: They give the tag titles to Ambrose/Rollins, but then use that moment to turn Ambrose heel, and then have Rollins lose the titles 2on1 to AOP 2 weeks later. I mean, what did this accomplish in relation to the tag titles? They were thrown around like hot potato's, AOP looks kinda weak beating Rollins 2on1 for them (albeit, they are a monster heel team), and the whole reason for Ambrose/Rollins winning them seems silly. Why not just have Ambrose turn on Rollins before the match is over, have Dolph/Drew retain the titles, then have Dolph/Drew face AOP in some battles that make both teams stronger and the tag titles more meaningful? Oh, wait.. this is WWE, uneducated television. Just by looking at these results this shit is mind-numbing. If they were going to win the titles and turn Ambrose heel, the least you could do is have a plan moving forward like some sort of tournament or some replacement partner for Rollins or some further storyline progression with the belts. Vince doesn't give a shit about the tag titles (as he's been reported on), but this is just weak.
  23. The only restraint I have in signing both of them is the fact that our rotation is unpredictable garbage and we wouldn't have any money left for the future or to revamp the rotation.
