If we don't get the 2 whales we are looking at an offseason of : Ivan Nova, Yonder Alonso, Alex Colome and James McCann. I can't think of more of a boring, lame, overpaid unit there.

Meh. They needed another Catcher but not sure why they wen't with McCann. Maybe Grandal doesn't want to come here? I don't know... but McCann's lack of great defense makes him a questionable signing. Can't say I'm happy by this, but at the same time, it's such a small move that it won't define anything.. as of yet.

This. At this moment, we are the most logical landing spot for Harper by a mile. Only Philly comes close. However, if LAD unloads OFr's they instantly become the logical landing spot. Similiarly with Machado, although an argument can be made with NYY unloading Andujar and PHI being the more logical choice.

Won't be looking good if we don't get either of the two... but for 2019 that means another year of 100% rebuilding... trading Abreu for prospects, loading up on RP to flip at the deadline, maybe signing 1 or 2 vets to shore things up and maybe flip at the dead line.

My complete guess is that the White Sox have made a very competitive offer to Bryce, but Bryce is doing his due diligence around with teams like LAD and PHI. Based on the rumors, it seems like LAD is trying hard to unload OF's and that to me signals that they might be trying to get in on Harper. I'm hoping that they don't unload any OFs and at some point Harper is 'forced' to sign with the W'sox as they become the only competitive offer.

From a strictly analytic point of view, signing either of these two players is likely NOT going to pay back and it likely has a high chance of being a disaster in terms of pay back. However, even as an analytics proponent, I don't even care -- I want to watch Bryce Harper in a White Sox uniform for the next 5+ years.

Phillies have McCutchen, Odubel, Alther (sp) and Nick Williams in the OF. I'm not too familiar with the last 3 other than Odubel had a great start to last year but finished flat, and the other two were hot on and off. Seems to me that they'd be out on Harper with this move and would look to shore up other positions, but I guess if they have tons of money...

Looking at this Sundays TLC card I am actually really excited. Note: December for WWE is historically the worst month for 'things to happen.' It's been said that WWE should consider giving the superstars an offseason in December. With that being said, The TLC PPV has nice matchs: Bryan vs. AJ: really excited for this heel vs. face showdown, should be a hell of a match. TLC 3-way Asuka/Lynch/Charlotte: Hottest thing going on right now in WWE. SUPER excited for this. I think Asuka has a chance to win this so Lynch/Charlotte can move on towards RR for Ronda. Corbin vs. Strowman: If the match happens, I'm excited due to the outcomes of the match. What shit will they pull here? Balor vs. Mcintyre (sp): Ok, I like both stars so it should be a nice mid card match. Ronda vs. Nia: Hate nia, but any Rousey match has buzz. We already know the outcome here, but will be worth watching just for Ronda. Rollins vs. Ambrose: Really excited with how they've built it up. Wonder how this will go down... gotta imagine there are more matches in the future here so maybe some sort of trickery happening. Bar vs. Usos vs. New Day: Seen 10000 times but they always put on a good match. Natayla vs. Riot: Probably a pre-show match, but it's a tables match so that's cool. Elias vs. Lashley Ladder Match: Weird match, I'm expecting it to suck, but any time there's a ladder involved something cool might happen. MMC finals: The competitors in the end are very weird and don't have many implications for the #30 spot in the RR. I guess I hope Bayley wins, but she shouldn't be #30, she should be an underdog in the RR. Having her come out #30 only to lose looks silly for faces. The only downside is the stupid stipulations they do with these PPVs. A ladder match should feel 'special' but instead we get a TLC ppv filled with ladders and tables matches that don't always fit the feud. It feels more like their like 'hell we got the TLC ppv coming up, let's make all these matches TLC" instead of it naturally making the feud better.

Don't know enough about the Bulls situation this year to make a comment on that... ... but just ROFLing that some of us thought the Bulls were playoff bound this year. Lolol

I've been enjoying Raw a little bit more as of late.. It's nice to have a strong heel commish/general manager that is also active in the ring (unlike Angle/Foley)... I think Corbin is ideal for the spot. As long as he isn't toyed with by Stephanie, he's pure gold! Great idea to have Bliss head off the female division as well. Ambrose has been hot fire recently and Rollins is pretty awesome as well. Drew Mc. is a f***ing beast and is quite awesome. I like the focus on Finn and Elias as well. Tag division still is shit, but at least they got some story going with AOP and Gable/Roode. That's progress. Women's division isn't nowhere near as good as SD, but Rousey is always a sight to see... just wish they'd push Bayley/Banks.

I'd love Billy Ham as a bench/4th OF, but we aren't a contending team. There's just no reason for him to be added to the CWS at this point.

This was a weird trade. I have to wonder what the Mariners are doing here. Colome seems to be a guy that *could* have acquired them a prospect. Perhaps this was just a way for the Mariners to shred money? IT seems like they are trying to shred money any way they can in the early off season. For us, it leaves us with a questionable hole at catcher, but netted us a reliever that could produce quite nicely. It'll be a massive win if Colome comes out of the gate saving games and dominating and we can flip him for some good pieces. Navarez wasn't going to net us anything.

Yeah -- As good of a guy Matt Davidson was to cheer for, there wasn't anything happening here. Unfortunate, but TY for the memories of last year.

Not to many in this thread stating that this was a bit of an overpay. I'm glad the W'sox didn't go after Donaldson at this rate. It makes some sense for the Braves for sure -- no knock on them. It's just a one year deal and could explode into fireworks for the playoff bound Braves. But wow, that's a lot of money for a guy that could barely stay on the field, and is well old.

Good trade for both teams I think. Overall, it's a fair deal -- I would have liked a little more if I was SEA, but can't argue with netting Sheffield from a very injury prone SP (perhaps the most injury prone SP in baseball right now). I'm happy the Sox didn't get Paxton as he doesn't fit our time table.

Watching Becky vs. Charlotte WWE Evolution. It's truly crazy how heels/faces are reacted by the fans these days. We saw this with Charlotte vs. Rousey last night when the LA crowd trashed Rousey and cheered a clear heel Charlotte towards the end. Even saying "Thank you Charlotte" after the beatdown. I feel this is a failure on WWE Creative with their flip-flopping of heels/faces and most importantly NOT letting faces be 'cool' and badass. Finn Balor is a face that works, but for the most part, there isn't any cool faces in the WWE... and when there is? They turn them heel... Zayn, Bryan, Lynch come to mind. It's astonishing to me how I've been posting about these types of things for 2-3 + years in this thread, and every time they do something I suggest... it rocks (Lynch being super pushed for instance) and every time I critique something it's so obvious and broken, yet they continue to make fuck ups (Reigns super push, Lesnar matches, etc). They should just hire me as CEO.

Lesnar finally tried and pulled off a pretty good match... always salty when auto-Lesnar wins, but D-Bry made it an incredible match. Charlotte turning heel on Ronda sets up many possibilities but I can't help but feel like Ffs why? with the flipping of heels/faces in this company. All other shit on PPV sucked... I mean the cruiserweight match was brilliant, but who cares... and rollins/naka was nice, but again who cares. Traditional SS matches blew.

Tag Team 5on5 is up now and wow, how horrid is this. Vince has destroyed Tag Team wrestling. There are so many talented teams here but it's just a joke. P.S. how the fuck can creative consistently do so poorly with NXT call ups? Look where Nakamura, Roode, Sanity, AOP, Bayley are. Sure AOP are Tag champs now, but are they really a factor in this awful division? No. Sure Naka is US champ, but he's been a nonfactor since the AJ Styles series.

Survivor Series tonight, I'll be watching it as the first wrestling event I've watched since Wrestlemania time. I'm not expecting much of anything and nothing at all is very exciting for me.. but I'll have ti on in the background while I get some time to play Fortnite. The match I'm most looking forward to, and the only match that tickles my fancy a bit is Charlotte vs. Rousey. The bummer is that this should have had a wonderful build up, but obviously the whole ordeal with Lynch/Nia screwed that up. Lesnar matches fucking blow and the whole Bryan heel turn on a random smackdown sucks also. I'll still keep my eyes peeled on that one. WWE doesn't do survivor series style matches well anymore... the wrestling is usually ok, but I'm guessing the girls match up will start strong and then have like 3-4 pin falls in a 2 minute time interval per usual. Super weak-sauce. The title vs. title idea is not really appealing to me as well. I don't have a reason to care about these matches storyline wise. Rollins vs. Nakamura might be a cool match up, but there's 0 storyline so it hurts the value of the match. I'm sick of seeing Shane in the main spots. There's so much talent and they end up having Shane o mac come around every now and then to steal spotlight. Super-fucking-sick of them disrespecting Bayley and Sasha Banks, two of the best women wrestlers on the roster. Seriously, fuck off with Tamina, Nia, Mickie, Natayla, and Ruby. They can't hold a candle to Sasha + Bayley. They are ruining the careers of these two women. Sasha and Bayley should be to the women's division of what Macho Man Randy Savage and HBK where to the men's divisions. They are talented and beloved by the fans yet they haven't had a meaningful match up in AGES and instead we are stuck with two talentless hacks in Tamina and Nia hogging up the spotlight. Does anyone at all care about hte Tag team Survivor series match up? Didn't think so. Dull. Needless to say, WWE has not been delivering lately and just about everything they've touched has failed creative wise. The one good thing going for them was Lynch and now she is shelved. I'm expecting a failure of an event.

The Becky Lynch stuff this week was simply phenomenal. Becky Lynch vs. Rousey was setting up to be a fantastic event... .. until Nia decked Lynch and the match had to be cancelled. Now WWE sends us Charlotte vs. Rousey and is wasting that big match on a 6 day notice. Boo. In SD news, WTF are they doing with turning DB heel and having him go over WWE champ AJ styles in a makeshift match 6 days before Survivor Series after AJ held the title for 371 days? I mean, I can't say that shit isn't exciting and interesting, but WTF WWE... DB should not be a heel (he's a natural babyface in a company void of them), and AJ should not have lost his 371 day reign on a random show of Smackdown with no hype to it.

Based on this quote and everything we've seen in the market so far, it's really got to be only two teams: Phillies and the White Sox. Nats: Nats are out since they have a full OF and are ready to move on. I just don't see it happening. Braves: I can't imagine the Braves going out and spending that big for an OF that, while useful to them, is not needed... they can fill their team out with many more pieces for the $$$ that harper would demand. It's too risky for them to put their eggs in one basket with Harper since their team is pretty damn good right now. Cards are a potential spot, but haven't heard anything signaling that they will be going for Harper. I think they look elsewhere. I don't get how the Cubs could afford it with the luxury tax and all... and all their young guys that they will have to sign soon.

Damn, I didn't know the price difference was that big... In that situation I would definitely choose the S (I have an S). However, I'll add that I do not play games vigorously anymore (I wish I could, just don't have the time). I'd get the S unless you had a safe amount of money, knew you were going to be playing more than just a handful of games, and knew you would be playing for hours per day in general. The $200 difference only makes sense in those instances since all the games work fine on the S.
