QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) She is straight nasty bro. Rowands matter of opinion. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) aka just his type. Southsider2k4 being a douchebag for the sake of being a douchebag. How are these things allowed? So we allow admins and mods to insult, while on the otherhand the site instructs others to do something else entirely different? Seems rather shady if you ask me. I imagine an admin or mod should keep their dicks between their legs at just about all times, unless if they are settling a disagreement between two (or a group of) others. Truly, what a great person to keep this place in line, slings out the insults at the same rate as those who get suspended and eventually banned, but it is just glanced over. Things have to get shook up around at the top... I am certain of it. It's been too stagnant for years now, and the camaraderie at this point is vomit inducing. It's a shame Jason is not around as much, but really, can you blame him?

This thread is an abomination. Almost always has been. I believe it has traveled so far down the rabbit hole that there is no turning back. I suggest to those of you who you detest this thread to venture out elsewhere for your NBA discussions, essentially nothing can be learned here, let alone trying to expand your mind.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 06:54 AM) 1) Elias Sports Bureau would probably find that s***, because they work with the devil. 2) It's probably 0, seeing as Ruth would be burned at the stake for witchcraft if he ever accomplished one. He most definitely had bunt singles in his career.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) Is there a way to figure out how many bunt singles Babe Ruth had in his career? I had a guy ask me, and I have no idea how I'd find that. No.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 28, 2011 -> 04:48 PM) Well it was adapted by the guy who writes all the best Doctor Who episodes (Moffat), the guy who directed the excellent Attack the Block (Cornish) and Edgar f***ing Wright. I had been waiting at least two years for attack the block, and i was hardly disappointed. I was not even ten minutes in and i thought about you, considering you are a big fan of edgar wright, simon pegg, and nick frost. Anyway, there are talks of a remake, sequel, or a t.v. series... the latter two would star john boyega, the star of the first. Let's say cornish and wright are involved in a sequel or a tv series, i would personally be up for either option. Cornish also just got done with the adventures of tintin, which felix apparently enjoyed highly (as if his opinion really matters). Cornish is also writing ant-man with wright... so i expected nothing less than a damn good film. At least i personally consider it the biggest sleeper out of all the superhero films coming out the next few years. Also, if you have not heard of this yet, edgar wright has been running this film festival the last couple years now, which has some big, and interesting names as guests. The wright stuff...

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 07:08 PM) [url="http://www.soku.com/search_video Finally, I found yet another Aamir Khan (3 IDIOTS) movie I really love, this time he's a teacher of an autistic/special needs child. Taare Zameen Par is the official title, which is translated to "Like Stars on Earth" in English. Aamir Khan's directorial debut to boot... but such a task is nothing for someone that is nicknamed mr perfection. He very well may be the best actor in the world... and it also might not even be close. Khan has chameleon like abilities.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 04:50 PM) Did you watch Party Down on my recommendation or before that? Great show, outstanding cast, if you can tolerate Adam Scott's weird face on Parks and Rec then you can do the same for 20 episodes of Party Down, Martin Starr's full blown nerd consternation is not to be missed. You two always brought it up to me in the chats. It's pretty good. Minus adam scott and that punch worthy face of his.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) Didn't Steff, who's vanished from earth, date Albert? I might go with Balta/Albert just for that. Steff was kinda hot back in the day. That signature likely still exists somehow, somewhere.

Well i always suggest a japanese film called ''after life''.... clearly not the after.life with liam neeson. Plot: After death, people have just one week to choose only a memory to keep for eternity. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165078/ Trailer: http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi1605697817/ =================================== Das experiment... 2001 you very well may have seen this. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250258/ Plot: The movie is based on the infamous "Stanford Prison Experiment" conducted in 1971. A makeshift prison is set up in a research lab, complete with cells, bars and surveillance cameras. For two weeks 20 male participants are hired to play prisoners and guards. The 'prisoners' are locked up and have to follow seemingly mild rules, and the 'guards' are told simply to retain order without using physical violence. Everybody is free to quit at any time, thereby forfeiting payment. In the beginning the mood between both groups is insecure and rather emphatic. But soon quarrels arise and the wardens employ ever more drastic sanctions to confirm their authority. Based off of a true story. This was remade with adrien brody recently. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250258/ =========================================== The diving bell and the butterfly. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401383/ Plot: The true story of Elle editor Jean-Dominique Bauby who suffers a stroke and has to live with an almost totally paralyzed body; only his left eye isn't paralyzed. Think about what you just read. I will continue adding to this during the night... these are just some i like... and think others would enjoy.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) Qwerty, any suggestions for movies that may have slipped past me that you think I'd enjoy. I liked Moon and The Man From Earth a lot, and I believe you suggested both. Gimme a genre or two and a time frame to work with. I mean i watch just about anything and everything... there is not a genre or time period i dislike. I'm talking back to the squaw man and the jazz singer... which was the first talkie starring the world's greatest entertainer al jolson. About the squaw man, it was the first full feature length film filmed in hollywood... first film cecille b demille worked on... and also the first and only time a director/producer worked on three different adaptions of the same movie. Anyway for the time being, i suggest 3 idiots, my favorite character in any film i have ever seen is done by aamir khan, who plays the lead idiot (or is he?) rancho. I don't want to say much else, other than one other thing. Aamir khan was 44 at the time of release and he convinces you he is that of a mere teen. To portray someone 25 years younger to the point the audience is utterly convinced, it takes a special talent. In my honest opinion, aamir khan is a top 5-10 acting talent in the world. This is not just me saying it for s***s and giggles, as i have seen 12 of his films up to this point. Bollywood films, when done right, just have a entirely different feel to them, almost magical. If anything else, they tend to have beautiful women flaunting all over the screen.

Since there has been big lebowski talk going on... here is a question for some of you. What is your favorite coen brothers film outside of the big lebowski? I ask because as a whole i really enjoy them... but there are still some bona fide duds in their filmography, in my opinion. If you have just seen one or two others don't bother answering.

So i was sitting here noshing on something delicious, and i was hit by an idea. Only one thing could possibly top the removal of ozzie guillen. ... and that would be if greg permanently forgot his password. I'm not the religious type... but you better believe me, i pray of it happening on a daily basis. Those trolls roaming around are too much to bear, they suck. Less than greg sucks... but they suck nonetheless. Greg is stronger than ever now. Think about it, he has a god damn posse of invalids at his beck and call to jam their pea-brained ideas down our throats. Please suspend me like i asked last time. When i am able to come back... just give me access to SLaM until noted otherwise. After all, there will always still be the filibuster, and i enjoy a good laugh as much as the next guy.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:35 AM) Happy B-Day fellas. Though it figures their B-Day would be on the most tragic day in U.S. history. (though I'll cut DBAH0 some slack since he's an Austrian. ) Why do you say this? Is it because of felix's past addiction? If so... that's simply not cool... rather sickening actually... what a low blow.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 05:01 AM) Football. And that's the ONLY reason. And when I'm all footballed out; tv goin' off. I don't need to be bombarded with 9-11 overkill just because of the mythical 10-year anniversary. I don't want to hear about conspiracy #1373262423. No more "how has America changed since then?" It hasn't changed at all (well, other than tighter, and in some cases ridiculous, airport security protocol). I don't care what celebrities think. I don't care that bomb-sniffing dogs have been named after victims. It just goes on and on. It's not mythical... you must have meant another word.

I know he is not for everyone... but i just finished off watching every film woody allen has either wrote or directed. I even watched ''zelig'' again last night for a poster here... leonard zelig. I was going through his filmography several day ago and realized that there were only six films combined that i have not seen. So, naturally, i wiped out what i had not seen... and now i will probably go back and watch a few of his true classics.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 7, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Warrior, Drive and The Debt all getting good favorable reviews is really good to see. It'd be nice to have out there some good movies that really interest me. 2012 is gonna be excellent. Tons of interesting titles coming out. There looks like it has a chance to be one of the best years in our lifetimes. This year on the other hand has been severely underwhelming. Good luck finding ten films to nominate for best picture.

And that, my friends, is a White Sox season

It's not over until it's over j4l... have hope!!! You have to remember... there is an outside chance that the tigers plane could go down in flames before seasons end.
