  1. I was there yesterday, with my two kids. It was my 4 year old's first game. I thought he needed to see Paulie play once. Even though he wasn't all that interested in the game, he kept asking, "Where is that guy who isn't playing anymore?" I hope PK continues on in some capacity with this team. They need someone like him as a coach or in the FO. I'm glad I got to say farewell. Thanks PK.
  2. QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 09:08 AM) That's more the patella femoral pain then. Follow the exercise program. I stated earlier in the thread for greg775. He has a similar issue. You need to get the pressure out from under the patella. The exercises will for lack of a better way to explain, help the patella to track better. Thanks ptatc! Will do! matt
  3. QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 09:35 PM) Sounds more like patella femoral pain syndrome. Put your hand on the very top of your knee cap and push it down toward your ankle. Once it is in this position try to tighten your quad. Your hand should be resisting the knee cap from coming back up. How did that feel? Hurts right at the top of the kneecap where I'm holding it and under the kneecap.
  4. I have a pain right under my left kneecap. It hurts after playing volleyball (which I've stopped) and if it's bent for extended periods of time. Then it aches. I think it's tendonitis...but I'm not sure what to do about it since I've been resting it for months. It is not swollen, so I don't think there's any physical damage, so any help would be great. Thanks!
  5. If the Cubs think they can compete with their kids in the next year or two, which would you rather have as an anchor for your staff? Hamels, with security for the next 5 or so years? Or Lester/Scherzer, about the same age as Hamels, but on the open market? I think this was a claim just to see what it would take to get Hamels and to put the idea in Amaro's head for the future. Personally, I think the Cubs should wait...but then again, I don't like the Cubs, so I could care less. Well, actually, I COULD care less.
  6. Bad hitter...yes. Bad player? Not so sure. He's still a good fielder. And I"m not going to comment on his baserunning since...well...he's hardly on base.

  9. QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 11:56 AM) These videos they made are not good. I didn't think it was possible to take all the drama out of such an historic Stanley Cup win, but they did. Um...my guess is they didn't start editing those videos until Tuesday morning. It is Friday morning. That's not easy. Thanks for your input though. -- Your Friendly Resident Video Editor
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 26, 2013 -> 12:23 PM) Oh great Kane is drinking again. We should trade him for Ryan Miller! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?! From HockeyBuzz.com
  11. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 10:28 AM) SI stated that the Blackhawks saved hockey. This post season cemented that cover story. If you are a true hockey fan, that series had to get your jets going. That ending was absolutely stunning. With the manner in which points/goals are scored in hockey and one's inability to control the clock via a stall in soccer, there is no comparison as to how to end a game like that. The injury list of players is incredible. All of the anointed "stars" of the NHL have fewer Cups than Toews and Kane. Wondering if the NHL marketing department is scrambling...I'm doubting it. Oh and Brandon Bollig now has won more Stanley Cups than Alex Ovechkin, Steve Stamkos, and the Sedin Sisters.
  12. Bobby "Blue" Bland, 83. RIP.
  13. David "Deacon" Jones, 74. Only Rosey Grier is left from the Fearsome Foursome.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 02:39 PM) MVP of the playoffs? Him or perhaps Sharpie?
  15. Anyone think the addition of Kompon is going to help figure out the Kings and Quick? I mean, he was with them for a few years...6 or 7 I believe. Does that give the 'hawks any inside info?
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 30, 2013 -> 11:29 AM) doesnt everyone? The ladies must love you.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 30, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) dammit, you are so much better at math than me. I was about to take off my shoes so I could count all of my digits You have 95 digits?
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 30, 2013 -> 10:57 AM) True - I just meant in the grand scheme of things 95 and 94 percent aren't that far off - but it is true that Quick has actually been better this playoffs than he was last year when he won the Conn Smythe. But does that mean he's HAD to be better? Because if it does, the 'hawks may just break through. The Kings are hurting...the 'hawks are faster. I'm hoping we can get through this in 6. I have a feeling the 'hawks might get through this round quicker. Don't know why...just think the Kings are worn out.
  19. On-pace for 405 homers!!! Yay! Go Slammin' Sox's!
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:08 AM) That's a common misconception. V'Ger was actually Voyager 6. Which, of course, never really existed. Buzzkill.
  21. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 08:46 AM) Yay, more baseless projection. Just a question...but other than the ownership group...who has been with the White Sox the longest? One could argue Kenny Williams since he was drafted by the White Sox in '82. But he played with other teams in between. Hawk has been with the White Sox since 1982. 31 years. Yes, we will miss him.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2013 -> 02:24 PM) If by "local flavor" you mean inside jokes and odd sound bytes, then yes. By cracky!
