QUOTE (MEANS @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 11:51 AM) I get to work on some pretty cool stuff where I work(Reebok) and for the 2nd time in two years my t-shirt design was selected as the Championship Locker Room tee that the guys wear after hoisting the cup. Even better that I'm a Blackhawks fan too. Congrats Blackhawks!!!! This is pretty damn awesome! Congrats to you! -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2015 -> 03:57 PM) To the hockey experts: How is the matchup going? Do u think the Hawks have what it takes to win a best 2 of 3 not having home ice? Give me your impressions of the 2 of 3 series. Is it all on Crawford? I say the odds are heavily in favor of TB. Since 2009, in games 4 - 7, the Blackhawks are 41-14. TBL has a TON of pressure on them for game 5. Why? Because the BH have been here before. They don't get too up when they win nor too down when they lose. A young, inexperienced in the SCF team can easily let the pressure get to them. Of course, it hasn't happened so far, but the 'hawks haven't played their best hockey yet. IMHO, I think the Lightning have come closer to playing the best they can than the Blackhawks...and it's still tied at 2. Plus, I don't worry until G6. -
QUOTE (lord chas @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 09:17 AM) I would expect the Kansas City games to have high attendance. When the Royals played the Cubs I saw Royals fans everywhere in the city Maybe the Sox should ban ticket sales to anyone with a Missouri address and not allow them to wear KC jerseys in the boxes or 200 level. /sarcasm

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo 35m35 minutes ago Over the last four postseasons (2012 through 2015), the Blackhawks are 17-4 in Games 5-7 of a series, 7-2 on the road Now, the Blackhawks get an extra day of rest. I think this best of 3 is going to be fun! -
QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ May 21, 2015 -> 10:52 AM) Withholding comment on this one until we see if Lovett actually qualifies next year. If he can't get eligible through the Clearinghouse, then no loss. Hopefully one of the PGs Groce is after in '16 pull the trigger quickly. A healthy Abrams is fine this year. And Tate as his backup is also fine this year. Next year is definitely the issue. Still have high hopes for a better year this year.

TT can't win puck battles along the boards. And against Anaheim, you need that. If he can find the holes in the D, he'll be fine. I think Vermette is injured. Kruger hasn't looked the same since Stoner nailed him. I'm hoping he's better tomorrow. Let's hope the Hawks find their groove soon or else this is going to end quicker than we thought. -
It's also regional. A "superstar" in one city may not be one in another. There may be players that are superstars on the local team, like a Sidney Moncrief for the Bucks. He had a hell of a career, but didn't win anything nor is he in the hall of fame. But I would imagine he'd be on the Mount Rushmore of Bucks players. I think Tex pretty much summed it up, though.

If this was systematic and Simon has been beaten down since he was a freshman...why the HELL would his family allow his brother to go there? THAT makes no sense. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 6, 2015 -> 08:56 AM) I'm still confused as to why Wild fans were chanting the name of the goalie who was single handedly beating them. Thats not really where the goalie chant came from. My personal favorite was in the 3rd when Richards CLEARLY hit the crossbar and the fans yelled, "DUUUUUUUUUUB!" Errr...guys, he didn't do nuthin'. The State of Hockey is in disarray. -

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 05:06 PM) On that note, it's funny to read the national opinion of the Blackhawks. It's very easy to get caught up in the bubble of following the team every day, and to be frustrated with this and that, but they really have turned into the Red Wings of this generation. They are now the most veteran team in the playoffs in terms of experience, are seemingly always in the hunt for the Cup, and even when they have to "start over", it's more of a reload than a re-tool. I'm not saying everything is perfect, but we are going to look back on this team in 20 years and shake our head at how good of a run they really had. Agreed. They won't be AS good next year, but I don't see a humongous drop-off. They are still gonna be a tough out as long as they have this core. -

QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) Meanwhile... some potential big news for the Hawks moving forward "Hearing free-agent F Artem Panarin, who led KHL champion St. Petersburg in scoring, is getting close to joining the Chicago Blackhawks." EDIT: sorry I don't have twitter and couldn't embed exactly who said that, I just copied from hfboards It was Elliotte Friedman. He's a sniper with a hell of a wrister, but he's another small forward. 5'9" 170-ish. Not saying that's bad, just saying. -

Versteeg possibly getting the Bickell treatment. Never trade for a guy that is the lesser version of one of your current players. -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 19, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) How good would Jimmy Hayes look now instead of Bickell ? Brad Richards not impressing.Sharp stats are down, Hossa was bad offensively until his recent torrid streak. H Its amazing when you look around the league how much talent the Hawks have given up, Byfuglien , Ladd, Hayes, Vrbata ,Troy Brouwer ,Nick Leddy , even Frolik is having a decent year for Winnipeg. I've been thinking about your last sentence lately. Byfuglien, Ladd and Brouwer were cap cutting moves. Had to. No choice. Leddy was also a cap cutting move, but he also didn't quite fit into Q's plan. Frolik and Hayes weren't going to get off the 4th line. But here's the other thing...look at the players who have stuck in the last few years...I'm thinking Saad, Shaw, Kruger, Smith and to a lesser extent Bickell. Each of these players didn't look intimidated when skating with players like Toews, Hossa, Kane, Sharp, etc. They skate with confidence. They crash the net. They play their role (although some of them have tailed off, I'm looking at you Bickell). The players that have been traded like Olson, Pirri, Hayes, Morin, Skille, Vrbata, etc...lost their confidence. The players mentioned above either grind it out or respond to in-game benchings or healthy scratching. Q obviously doesn't trust rookies, but if you show ability, the willingness to go to the corners and play grindy, and above all, confidence, you will stick. That being said, Q has a hard-on for a lot of players (Oduya, Rosy, Handzus last year, Carcillo). Also, I think Hartman being up is a test to see if he can fill Shaw's role either this year or next. -
On my 16th birthday, the Sox lost to the Orioles 6-5. Kenny Williams went 0-4, but I'm sure it was a grindy 0-4.

Should The Sox Buy the Old Post Office For A New Stadium?

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 04:52 PM) the yr now is 2014 and you are talking about when, 2020-2025. cmon think about it, things change. Wait...what? You think the commuter lines, exits and highways are going away? Or are you saying the Sox might want a different place then? If anything gets done...ever, my guess it will be a mixed use facility with the Bears to expand that stadium. Either near the lake or the some other large parcel of land on the near South Side. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 10:44 AM) LOL, that was hilarious. The outgoing Navajo Nation President... who was charged with official theft and settled out of court to pay the money back and avoid prosecution... and who is so unpopular there now for his corruption that he got 4% of the vote in the latest election results... was there to "represent" the Navajo Nation. Not to mention that the Navajo Nation Tribal Commitee voted 9-2 in favor of a resolution condemning the team name, and here's this guy implicitly saying it is OK. Corrupt politicians come in all forms, including Navajo. Snyder is so tone deaf it is laughable. Did he not think people would find out who this guy was? Oh look, I found this minority person who was willing to sit in my box, SEE I'M NOT RACIST!!! Hey, some of my best friends are [insert race, sex, color, creed, sexual preference here]! -

With all the griping and complaining, hiring and firing of coaches...I'm surprised teams don't save the payroll and eliminate positions.
