QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 11:47 AM) Why did you decide to move back? I actually have Austin on the short list of cities I'd like to move to. Wife is being transferred back to Chicago. We are also having our first child, and while we would have definitely stayed in Austin, it's going to be nice to have family around. By all means, move to Austin if you can. It's a great city! And you are just far enough from places like Kap-opolis and Texsoxville to make it enjoyable!

Coming tech . . .
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 11:33 AM) good idea though. Not too many people around without cell phones these days. True, but I'd hate to be texted about an emergency after my battery dies.

TV Theme Music Adaptations
QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 09:52 AM) While I am a big Who fan, and CSI has done a nice job of using their songs for their themes, and they also seem to fit, Don't Get Fooled Again, Who Are You, etc. my favorite right now is Elvis Little More Action for Vegas. I'm thinking of tunes that were not originally written for the show. I still don't understand why one of the CSI's didn't use "The Seeker." Or maybe it does...I couldn't take it anymore after CSI: Lubbock.

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 09:45 AM) My dog just walked into my office, farted, and walked out. If I lived in Mesa, I would do the same thing. On a different note, my wife and I are moving back to Chicago from Austin this weekend. Sorry Tex, Kap and all the other "Texans" that have moved down here. Here's the kicker...we are buying a house in Oak Park, selling our house here, driving with a 34 week pregnant wife, a crazy cat, trying to find a job, staying with relatives and in a hotel and trying not to bite each others heads off. Fun, eh? "I was not born in Texas, but I got here just as soon as I could!!!" And to add to that, left just as quick! I'll wave Kap as I drive through Big D.

Sisco undergoes Tommy John Surgery
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 10:21 AM) I reported this yesterday... I just had to say that My guess is we probably won't be seeing Sisco again. Too bad for the kid I bet we will. They Sox have nothing to lose keeping him around. He may not make the team again, but he'll be back rehabbing. Still, that sucks.

The "Mighty" Detroit Tigers
QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) Would you rather have them come into the Cell winless or with at least one win? Would they press more as they lose more, or will they try harder if they lose more? I can see a case for both. If they are 0-9, they may not have a lot of fight in them (although Leyland would pop a vessel if they stopped trying). But, if they win a game, then maybe they will relax thinking, well we've got that monkey off our back. But as long as they have Leyland, I don't ever want to see a limping Tiger. Always dangerous.

#42 ~ Should the whole team wear it Tuesday?
QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) At a certain point, the distinction between honoring Jackie Robinson and ritualism starts to fade. It was nice the first time, but I would hate for it to be overdone to a point where point forget the genuine importance of Jackie. True...for fans like us. But for kids who are coming up with the game, they will be curious. And those are the peole we should be thinking of.... I believe that children are our future Teach them well and let them lead the way Show them all the beauty they possess inside Give them a sense of pride to make it easier Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

The "Mighty" Detroit Tigers
QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 04:33 PM) Well...they added Miguel Cabrera. The Sox added Darin Erstad. The bullpen will eventually get help. Rodney's been slow to recover, but he'll return in time. Zumaya will return middle-late. Granderson's looked like a pretty remarkable talent, whether or not he goes 20-20-20-20-20-20-20-20-..., and one bad year doesn't convince me that Renteria is incapable of playing in the AL. If everything continues to implode for them, hey, great. But I think it's unlikely that we're looking at anything like a 72-win team. Can't remember where I heard it, but basically they were saying that getting bullpen help this early in the season is not easy. For the most part, bullpen pitchers are cheap. So, teams aren't going to want to give anything up, at least until the deadline, and by that time, the Tigs might be out of it. Rodney's unreliable...Zumaya too. Should be a very interesting time for them because the help is going to have to come from the farm teams or a retread that is currently out of baseball.

The "Mighty" Detroit Tigers
I can't remember if it's Olney or Stark on espn.com, but they were saying that no team has ever won the WS after going 0-6 and only two teams, the Yankees and I think last years Rockies ever made it to the playoffs. They are in trouble. You don't want to get in that big of a hole to start off the season...I mean, it's going to take a week of games just to get BACK to .500. And in my head, my little sarcastic voice is saying...Awwwwwww...that's too bad.

#42 ~ Should the whole team wear it Tuesday?
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) Where is the option for the current scenario - let the players do it if they want to? That's what I'd vote for. It's just one game and it's probably the most important happening in major league baseball history. While they should be allowed to decide for themselves, they should be STRONGLY persuaded to wear it. And by strongly, I mean the teams, not MLB, should fine them if they don't. Even if it's kangaroo court.
