  1. QUOTE(VAfan @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) And he'd be a better lead off hitter than Scott Podsednik. Um, shouldn't that be in green? Alou should NEVER EVER be considered for the lead-off role. EVER.
  2. I worry about Dave Roberts and his leg injury problems in April, early May and October if we get there. Cold is not good for muscle problems.
  3. Black Alternate unis are the best. These things are cyclical...first it was teal, then purple, now red. But it should be more orange or brown, for the southwest.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 08:24 AM) Then you will love this, the Superbowl Shuffle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WbQD8-Mn5s I love the '85 Bears and I love the Super Bowl Shuffle, but two things always pain me when I see it: 1. Steve Fuller. WOW...I've seen some trainwrecks in my life, but whooooo. Jimmy CAN do it...not so sure about you, Stevie. 2. Gary Fencik. One line says it all, "I'm on my man, one-on-one."
  5. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) for two minor leaguers: cleveland plain dealer blog very nice pickup for both sides, dealing out of strength is always a good thing. Although I would think the Tribe would be more interested in pitching, but hey, I'm not Mark Sha-PIE-ro.
  6. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 11:51 AM) Obama should annonce soon. He will never be as untainted as he is right now. He never had to cast a vote on the Iraq war and he has a small voting record to criticize. But if he thinks that the primaries will be a cake walk like the one he had against Alan Keyes, he will be sorely mistaken. The Clintons will pound him on every issue and lack of experience. The Clintons have no leg to stand on. Bill Clinton had NO foreign policy experience coming into the '92 election...heck, I don't think he had any National political experience, although I could be wrong. Hillary has, what, four years on Obama in the Senate? I can't imagine she learned THAT much in four years that would make her an overwhelming candidate. Nor do I think the American people will buy the fact that she was the First Lady for 8 years as experience. And if Newt Gingrich ran...he would be crushed. Absolutely crushed.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) Not as drowsy as I did yesterday. Now it's almost solely the sore throat, although it's the kind of sore throat where it's tough to swallow, I'm spitting up green flem, and when I cough my head starts to ache. I'll probably go tommorow, just to make sure. I was born to watch IU beat Michigan on saturday.. I have to be healthy for saturday.. ha Not to scare you, because there isn't much you can do about it, but there are a couple people in here in Austin that caught some sort of virus that sounds very similar to what you have. The only difference is one of them has been coughing for about 4 weeks now and the other has been fatigued and coughing for about 5 weeks. It's not mono, but the one that has been sick for 5 weeks went to the doctor and he said, it's a virus and he just has to wait it out. It sucks and I hope you feel better.
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) The sad thing is some good candidates lost because people were voting against Bush, not against the candidates. Sorry but thats stupid to me. You want to hate on Bush fine, but you don't nominate less qualified individuals to run your state because of it (I'm specifically focusing on Maryland). C'mon, they were all in this together. It wasn't a referendum on Bush, it was a referendum on following blindly. The people wanted a change, and since Bush is out in two years, this is the best way to do it. I wasn't throwing him under the bus, I just can't believe that the Dem party in Connecticut didn't realize the relationship he has with the people of Connecticut. Lamont would have won if Lieberman didn't run, but he didn't, because the people would rather have someone they trust over someone the party picked.
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 07:45 AM) I was thinking we could use a catch-all for this topic. To kick it off, not my brand of Christianity I smell sequel! Snakes in a Church: Get those m****r f****n' snakes out my m****r f****n' house of worship!!!
  10. Dear Ned Lamont, How'd all that Hollywood money do? Shalom, Joe Lieberman
  11. NIce job, Mike. It's one thing to do your civic duty and vote and something so much cooler to actually try to be a part of the system. I don't live in your area, but I'll send Kinky up to campaign for you next time. Well, maybe that's not the best idea....... Congrats!
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) Wow, I really thought that their lust would prevail..... Fixed.
  13. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) he gets cited for having 2 kids and not paying the mothers', told to figure his life out, gets reinstated, and then 22 hours later is arrested for battery.....Prison sounds good for this screwup. Too bad, his dad was a great citizen when he played for KU Maybe he and Pierre Pierce can share a cell?
  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Instead of looking at the thread with all the stuff before today, I'll create a thread of its own... So, we're hearing of lawsuits already being filed by Dem lawyers. Imagine that. I'm sure it's corrupt out there!! It's the only POSSIBLE way for the GOP to win is supress the good Dems down. Seriously, it does sound like there's some issues out there. Let's hope they get resolved. You know, after I voted, I was standing there waiting to get my receipt and...nothing. So, where does my vote go? What happens if something goes wrong? Is there a backup? I hope they figure this voting thing out, cuz we've only done it in this country for 230 years!!!
  15. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 08:45 AM) LOL After saying that I don't vote straight ticket, today was the first time it happened. Either all of them were unopposed, or I couldn't vote for them. And I held my nose and voted for Perry. Ick. Looks like Kinky is leading in the Soxtalk/Texas Gubernatorial election! Thinky Kinky!!!
  16. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) Who I did NOT vote for. Pretty funny website (okay, maybe scary is a better word). Hey, that's as good a platform as any.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) My sis had it and its pretty bad (she had a real bad case of it). But after one day I wouldn't worry, if the thing sticks around and lingers than I'd start to have concerns. But if the sore throat doesn't feel like its getting better thats probably a good indication (plus some serious swelling of your limpnodes). Looks like it. Hope you're ok, red.
  18. And please don't lump the former Governor of NJ in to the same group. He NEVER preached hatred against homosexuals at all. He came out of the closet, hurt his wife, BIG TIME. Probably messed up his kids, too, but I don't laugh at him for coming out. Although the whole hiring-your-lover-thing is pretty bad.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) "I am a deceiver and a liar" One statement does not make up for his years of being hypocritical. He needs help, yes, and I hope for his sake and his family's sake he can get it, but i still have no respect for him. This statement is years too late. Shouldn't this relate to all PEOPLE, not just evangelical ministers?
  20. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 6, 2006 -> 06:27 AM) no, I'm not in the profession of laughing at people when they end up doing what people do best.... pride, fall, and then restoration. I'm not trying to be holier than thou, trust me. I've done this in the past, and it made me realize it was worthless. Perhaps the guy is a hypocritical douche, but like i said, think about the ramifications for the family and families involved. It's tragic. It's absolutely tragic. But, unlike someone who has bad luck thrust upon them...Ted Haggard did it to himself. Sorry, but I have a lot less respect for someone like him than I would someone who owns up to it.
  21. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 24, 2006 -> 07:14 AM) I like it. In fact, I personally think voting should be a period of a couple weeks anyway, instead of 1 day. It woudl result in higher turnout, less problems with people not getting to vote, a chance for agencies to shake out any problems with time to spare... lots of positives. I disagree. I think it will keep voter turnout the same or possibly lower. UNLESS, they don't release preliminary results until election day. I believe I saw a blurb this morning from the Dallas Morning News that they all but declared Rick Perry has been re-elected. That makes me wanna get out and vote, but there are a lot of people out there who may see that and say to themselves, "What difference is my vote gonna make?" Plus, early voting to me is like leaving a Sox game early...you never know what might happen. Seriously, with the amount of media coverage these people get, what if something comes out that could alter your feelings for a candidate? Personally, I think they should make voting easier and put it online (if they can keep the hackers out), or at least make it a day that most people can get to...or even a weekend long election day. I will be voting, but I'll be voting on Tuesday.
  22. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) ...so, word of advice... DO NOT type "Gay" "Jeans" into google images expecting to come up with an image to help make a joke in this thread. true story. perhaps equally disturbing.... Gay Jeans Day This is the LAST pair of jeans I EVER buy at Kohl's. Bad Idea Jeans
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) This from MLBTradeRumors.com Good for the White Sox...bad for Minneapolis and Liriano. I hope he makes a full recovery! Good luck to you Francisco.
  24. Maybe it took a while to pinpoint his location through his IP address. I doubt he gave anyone his address over an internet chat.
