    Alrighty then...

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) LMAO, I was just thinking that and started to search Esquire on-line. I still don't understand why she would write that article anonymously.
  2. Try the Gypsy Strips or the Jew Stew... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14121008/ Ree-G.D.-diculous!

    Alrighty then...

I think we need to get these two together! http://www.esquire.com/features/articles/2...wo_Vaginas.html
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) I sure as hell hope it's 4 soon. Make that 5.
  5. Get ready to drink, my man, cuz if you are going to be in advertising, yer gonna need it. (I speak from experience. I'm not an AE, but I work for an ad agency.) Congrats though and remember: You sell crap to people who don't need it, so don't take it too seriously!!!
  6. Maybe he didn't get the latest Famous Jewish Sports Legends leaflet?
  7. To know me is to love me!
  8. Another waivers question: Do waivers work for the 40-man roster or just the 25-man roster? Meaning...does someone like Jerry Owens or Boone Logan also go through the waiver process?
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) Horrible, horrible, horrible series. However, we picked up a game on the Twinkies and FINALLY got Mark his 10th win, so I'll take it. And it looks like MB is starting to pitch well again. (Just going by stats.)
  10. One crazy ass 3-day period (circa 1996): 4:30 am: leave downtown Chicago for St. Charles 6:00 am: Call time 8:00 am: Shoot begins 6:00 pm: Shoot ends and set up for next day begins... 2:00 am: Head back to Chicago 4:30 am: Leave Chicago for St. Charles etc., etc. for three days. Now THAT is a crazy ass couple of days. and I was working...you at least got to go to a Sox game and get some sleep.

    SNL

NOBODY has said "The Continental?" Those had me rolling on the floor.
  12. I'll tell you why it's courageous.... She is a former Muslim...a WOMAN...and is saying all of this on Al-Jazeera. She's standing up and courageously saying that what is happening is happening because some Muslims are ignorant to the ways of other religions. Not all, not most, not many, but some. She's basically telling a male-centric society that they are wrong. I personally think that's courageous.
  13. Don't forget we are dealing with Drayton McLane here too...he wasn't going to pick up Wilson's contract for next year and they have some good young talent. Who wouldn't want your top pitching prospect to come up and pitch with Clemens and Pettitte and Oswalt? Plus, Wilson is a strikeout machine...the Sox don't need him, even with his average against lefties.
  14. Most of us "oldies" on here dealt with it...cried or didn't cry depending on what social status you were...and here we are. Now, we are breeding a bunch of kids that think they deserve to win because they never lost. They expect a VP salary coming out of college, but don't know how to lead. I understand that teachers have other things to do, but, come on, swaddling children while they are on school property is ridiculous. People are scared...scared to be yelled at, scared to be sued, scared to make decisions. And honestly, if you are going to be an elementary school teacher, you have to expect that a child of that age is not going to know how to handle certain things. School is not just book-learnin', it's also learning how to socialize.
  15. This woman needs to be placed on a pedestal somewhere. Keep in mind, this interview was on Al-Jazeera... Kickin' some arse...
  16. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) I thought that this was a discussion on Israel and Hezbollah, not on the Palestinians. I'm just not sure I see how your point correlates with Hezbollah. Is there a connection between the two that I am missing? This is where it started. Hezbollah is Muslim. Palestinians are Muslim. If the Palestinian issue were solved peacefully a long time ago, we wouldn't have these things escalating to the levels we are at today. Hezbollah is using the Palestinians to have a reason to eradicate the Jewish state. Which goes back to my other point...the Palestinians aren't welcome in MUSLIM countries, but are being used to get rid of the State of Israel.
  17. Astronauts are highly trained military men. Cavemen throw bones in the air when they see 1x4x9 monoliths. Astronauts by a ways.
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) a-f***ing-men Carlos Guillen - Seattle Magglio Ordonez - Chicago Ivan Rodriguez - Texas and Florida Sean Casey - Cincinnati Kenny Rogers - friggin everywhere Todd Jones - Minnesota, Boston, Florida most importantly Jim Leyland - Florida and Pittsburgh I'm probably missing a few too. They have guys who have been there. The young guys haven't, but there's enough experience, that I don't think pressure is gonna be foreign. I do agree that putting a little pressure on them would be nice. Please let us not forget the '83 and '93 White Sox teams who won their divisions easily ('83 was easily, '93, not as much). Then went into the playoffs and froze like a virgin at a strip club. Yes, some of the Tigers have been there before, but not as a team and the city of Detroit is going to be picking at Leyland and the players with tweezers. I don't care who they play, they are going to get beat BECAUSE they have been coasting all year. The playoffs are win or go home, the regular season is win or lose and go out to dinner. They don't know that kind of pressure and if they win the division easily, there's GOING to be pressure. I don't care about the division...let the Tigers win. Let them have their moment. Let them put up the pennant that says they won the 2006 AL Central crown. Then let them come to Chicago and watch the ring ceremony.
  19. Chuck Norris doesn't need a bridge, he walks on water.
  20. With a lot of games against teams with winning records and the comeback last night...this is something to keep in mind. I'm not saying we'll catch the Tigers, but we could pull away from the wild card pack.
  21. We also have to keep in mind the history of these two groups. On the one hand, we have Israel, who was given land after WWII. They have been attacked more than once and beaten back their opponents. They are constantly on alert for another attack/invasion. On the other hand, you have a people who don't have a land and aren't accepted within the countries in and around Israel. Which would include Muslim countries like Jordan and Syria...and Iran. The Palestinians want their own land and won't take no for an answer, but no land around them want them either. So, you have one group that is constant jumpy and one group that is homeless, for the most part. This is going to breed hatred and violence until it either blows up into WWIII or all sides decide that this is ridiculous, sit down at a table and don't leave until they figure it out. In the history of the world, how many times has the latter happened? It's not the Israelis fault and it's not the Palestinians fault. It's EVERYONE'S fault, but no one will admit it first.
  22. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 03:49 AM) Hopefully Geddy Lee will attend at least one of the games. The Sox usually win when he's in attendance, although he does like to go when Halladay is on the mound. As long as it's Geddy Lee and not Anne Murray...or Celine Dion. Have fun...Soxtalk will be with you.
  23. Javy Lopez is a need trade. This isn't a Varitek vs. Lopez argument, it's a Lopez vs. Mirabelli/minor league catcher argument. Lopez is better than Mirabelli. I don't know who the Sawx have in the minors, but they don't have Shoppach anymore. the issue they are going to have is if Varitek comes back this year...are they going to carry three catchers? Mirabelli is Wakefields personal catcher and Varitek is better overall than Lopez and they already have one of the best DHs in the league so... Where Will Javy Play?
  24. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 10:35 AM) Caveman Jim? That nickname sucks. Alrighty then. But next time, you need to let your feelings out. If you keep them all bottled up, you'll get an ulcer.
