QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THIS SATURDAY AS YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW, IT IS A SIN FOR A TALIBAN MALE TO SEE ANY WOMAN OTHER THAN HIS WIFE NAKED, AND THAT HE MUST COMMIT SUICIDE IF HE DOES. SO THIS SATURDAY AT 4 P.M. EASTERN TIME ALL AMERICAN WOMEN ARE ASKED TO WALK OUT OF THEIR HOUSE COMPLETELY NAKED TO HELP WEED OUT ANY NEIGHBORHOOD TERRORISTS. CIRCLING YOUR BLOCK FOR ONE HOUR IS RECOMMENDED FOR THIS ANTI-TERRORIST EFFORT. ALL MEN ARE TO POSITION THEMSELVES IN LAWN CHAIRS IN FRONT OF THEIR HOUSE TO PROVE THEY ARE NOT TALIBAN, AND TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY THINK ITS OKAY TO SEE NUDE WOMEN OTHER THAN THEIR WIFE AND TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR ALL AMERICAN WOMEN. AND SINCE THE TALIBAN ALSO DOES NOT APPROVE OF ALCOHOL, A COLD 6-PACK AT YOUR SIDE IS FURTHER PROOF OF YOUR ANTI-TALIBAN SENTIMENT. THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT APPRECIATES YOUR EFFORTS TO ROOT OUT TERRORISTS AND APPLAUDS YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS ANTI-TERRORIST ACTIVITY. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

    Yeah...that's right...Kajagoogoo.
  4. OK...so call me a perv but when I saw the topic title, I was thinking a woman with HUGE legs or a body builder or something. Hee hee...silly ol' Can.
  5. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 12:48 PM) If it was .088 why was he arrested? Rounded up.
  6. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) Oh this is precious. Hef has a kids night! Here's the article: http://www.defamer.com/hollywood/short-end...wich-186958.php C'mon Frankie...you can look happier than that. Bastard.
  7. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) People don't like the YES network crew? I've had the Extra Innings package for several years now and I think they're pretty top notch. Other crews I've enjoyed are the Rangers, Tigers (except for the play-by-play man's slick voice), and Mariners. The worst has been the Twins and Angels. Especially the Angels. Hudler is f***ing awful. I'm curious how much longer Hawk will stick around. I'm assuming he's got an open invitation from JR to stick around as long as he'd like given JR's loyalty and how Hawk has defended the franchise against the likes of Mariotti. But at the rate he's going, in 10 years he's going to turn into a joke like Harry Carey's last few years. Pipe...the Rangers team...SUCKS!!! Josh Lewin and the other guy are great for insomnia. Put me right to sleep! Seriously...not so good.
  8. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 09:25 AM) Hawk and DJ's broadcast is meant to appeal to the average White Sox fan, not some opposing team's out-of-market fans. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This can't be bolded enough.
  9. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Rarely can teams keep up the pace the Tigers are on for both halves... Or the Sox, for that matter.
  10. After 3 years on the trading block, I'm sure the DRays got as much as they could for Huff, and probably wanted to get him out of there after suffering on the block for so long.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:37 AM) My wife and I had this discussion before we even got married. We had decided that if we couldnt have children of our own, we would adopt a child. That was just our personal views based on our faith. Now my brother and his wife are both going through fertility treatments right now to have a child. I told him of what happens, and asked him about adoption, but he wants one of his own. He is an adult and its really his decision. I will love my future neices/nephews that come out of that treatment. But I would also love any adopted children that they would have. Its a decision that each family has to make on their own. But as Rex and Jim have said before, there are some ethical issues with IVF that you have be made aware of. There are ethical issues to EITHER decision. That's the point. If I have cancer, why wouldn't I try everything I can to stay alive? Wouldn't it be God's will that I have cancer? I'm not trying to incite anything, but if there is a way to have children, why shouldn't I try it? And what's ethically wrong with it? I'm not hurting anyone, including the unfertilized eggs, because if my wife and I kept trying, nothing would happen. I wonder if there is any research done on the amount of people that go through IVF, have children, and then end up adopting.
  12. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) There are literally millions of children in need of care from responsible adults. I understand that its frustrating to not make your own children without help. But then again there are millions of children already here. Who need help now. And although I don't fault the desire for IVF, I just think that the kids here deserve a parent more than parents deserve kids from their own bodies. Ya know? Interesting...I don't agree, but an interesting argument nonetheless.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) So, you remember that new DHS formula which led to NYC and DC having their terror funds slashed due to Madison Square Garden and the Statue of Liberty not being landmarks? According to that same formula, Indiana is the most endangered state in the Union. Linky. Back home again in Indiana And it seems that I can see A gleaming candlelight Still shining bright Through the sycamores, for me The new-mown hay Sends all its fragrance From the fields I used to roam When I dream about the moonlight On the Wabash Then I long for my Indiana home Just think if Bobby Knight was still there!
  14. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:18 AM) Personally, I only support Embryonic Stem Cell Research because of the existence of IVF - which I think is at its core, personally selfish. I wouldn't say it's selfish. If there's a chance you can have a baby using the father's sperm and the mother's egg, I say go for it. I have a friend who did it and received two beautiful boys (there were 4, but was advised to selectively terminate 2 for health reasons). Adoption is a wonderful thing. But, it comes with it's own problems. And I would say that everyone who wants children, if given the choice, would rather have their own. Basically, just like anything, if IVF is used in good faith, it's not selfish. Are there side effects? Yes, but aren't there side effects of pretty much everything we do?

It's also got the banned original video of Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood! It IS racy!
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 10:15 AM) http://www.philaphans.com/forums/showthrea...?threadid=43004 That thread is hilarious by the way. Man, I hope our trade proposals don't look as ridiculous to people outside the board as those do. Yikes...Anderson backing up Victorino?
  17. Why is everyone discounting Mackowiak's role on this team? Ozzie loves players that can play multiple positions...plus he bats left-handed. If the team deals or designates Gload, which a lot of people on this board want, then we don't have any lefty pinch hitters. I don't believe this team will give away Mack to anyone this year. I would love to have Rowand back, but only if he's watching the World Series sitting next to me on my couch.
  18. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 10:21 AM) minnesota could beat us in a 5 game series where they could set their rotation I disagree. Liriano is going to be great, but he's only gone around the league once. Let's see what happens the second time around. also, he got, what, like 3 wins off the NL? Santana is one win, but I'm not ready to label Liriano as good as Santana, yet. As for the Sox, I say they hit 98 wins and win the division.
  19. Let's hope so...but it could hurt too. Some players might not want to be thrown under the bus.

QUOTE(mreye @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) I love you, Steff! Oh yeah, I second that emotion! I haven't seen Close to the Edit in...oh...forever!!! PS...My boss would like to see you in his office immediately!
  21. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) The hate that people have for AJ seems to be so much different then hate for someone like bonds. He is a genious at getting underneath peoples skin. He can get opponents off their game. He isnt cheating or bashing people in the media. Im glad hes on our side. He is the classic guy that Chicago will embrace: Dennis Rodman, Bryan Cox, Albert Belle (although not to the same extent), guys who are a little crazy, but work their asses off.
  22. 27...not bad, although I kicked myself on a couple of them...but it evened out with the guesses.
  23. The loudest ballpark I have ever been in is the old Busch Stadium. It was all enclosed (not a dome, just enclosed) and MAN, those are good fans...and frickin' loud.
  24. Maybe this will make the 'hawks relevant again. God, I hope so...
