"Welcome Cubs fans to TD Ameritrade Field!"
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:06 AM) I've been saying this for a while. The parking sucks at Wrigley, but deal with it. but the ballpark needs to be gutted. Leave the exterier as it is, but completely re-work the inside. This. They already have a little space where the donut shop was. Maybe do a little bridge over Clark and/or Addison for access a la Gate 5 at Comiskey. They definitely need to gut it and start over, though. Talking about it on ESPN 1000 right now.

If you won the lottery, what would you do with your life?
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 04:20 PM) I went to Alaska and I loved it. I hate the heat in Chicago in the summer so the occasional 2 week stay here and there up in Juneau at 65-70 every day would be outstanding. I'd have to keep a house here in Chicago in the winter to hit Hawks and Bears games with my ST's, but I'd also have a house in South Beach for when the Bears are done for the year. My parents love the weather up in New England. My brother loves San Diego, and my other one just likes the heat in Arizona, so that's that. As a former Texas resident I have to say this...you don't know heat.

Gov. Palin Resigns (Quits)
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 10:13 AM) You guys are really over estimating the support she has. I would be shocked if she contends for the GOP nod in 2012. Exactly...too much time between now and then. Even Obama, who some thought would be a candidate for president back in 2004 when he gave his speech at the DNC, wasn't the leader coming into the primaries. I hope Sarah Palin does get the nod though, just for the sheer theater of a Palin-Obama race.

Halladay Superthread
QUOTE (longshot7 @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 03:30 PM) Don't be a Cub fan - you have to give talent to get talent. Why would the Jays trade Halladay for an unproven starter (Richard) and a minor-league hitter (Allen)? They have to compete with the Yanks and Red Sox. If I'm Ricciardi, I want a major league starter in return that isn't some team's rookie 5th starter........ that's all I'm saying..... Dollah dollah bills ya'll.

Who Is Kenny Trying to Shake Loose?
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) When has KW not mortgaged the future for the present? There is a poster here called Kenny Hates Prospects for a reason. I remember KW saying a few years ago that if players had value in the minor leagues he wanted to find a way to translate that value to the big league club. KW has never been shy about trading away prospects, maybe he has turned over a new leaf, but his track record says anyone in the minors can be had in the right deal. Halladay will net Type A compensation after the 2010 season, Haren will cost a ton, but will solidify the rotation through 2013, Johnson is injury prone and has Boras as his agent so I dont see KW spending the farm on him. But KW will trade prospects if it lands the guy he covets. Agreed, but look at the quality of prospects then to now. And no, I'm not overvaluing. I think there are a lot more untouchables in the system now than there were in the recent memory. And really, how many of those prospects Kenny dealt/cut have done anything?

Who Is Kenny Trying to Shake Loose?
Remember folks, when you make these trade suggestions, Kenny is not going to mortgage the future for the present. Whether that means dealing away some of our top prospects (unless there's another one in front of or behind that is considered a higher ceiling) or by trading for a rent-a-player. So, remember that when suggesting Haren, Halladay or Josh Johnson.

Stupid questions people have asked you
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) I've seen the studies he mentioned. They are statistically better drivers. Have there been any studies about blind drivers??? See what I did there?

Gov. Sanford
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) You know what's really f'ed up about this is how he keeps going to the press to talk about more encounters, women, bulls***, the whole nine yards. And it occured to me why: this asshole is trying to throw s*** back at his wife. It's nothing more then that, it can't be. This guy is the biggest piece of s*** a man can be. Someone needs to neuter this asshole so he can lose his ability to "love" ever again. Sanford = Douche.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:55 PM) I think that ship has sailed. It sounds like Marty might be getting more per year the Hossa is going to be getting. I don't blame DT and the Hawks for not wanting to commit long term to Marty. Thinking optomistically, if the 'hawks can trade Campbell and Huet, sign Bulin "cheaply," one never knows. Just thinking out loud.

HOw close are Hossa and Havlat? If I remember correctly, they were on the Senators together when they had that awesome team in '05?

Somebody's going to have to be dealt before next year. BC and Huet the two most likely to be gone.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:11 PM) Edmonton looks to be the only real landing spot, maybe the Avs. I really like this Hossa deal. Avs signed former Hawk Craig Anderson. But the Oilers are a definite possibility. Although I'm not so sure about Crawford or Niemi as #2 goalie. From TSN:

QUOTE (dbaho @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:06 AM) Roddick a set up, and just broke Hewitt to get back on serve in the 2nd. I think Hewitt will take a set here, but Roddick will win in 4. And all of Australia now hates dbaho. What...? No mention of Tommy Haas? He's my underdog favorite. Would love to see him make the finals. Probably won't happen, but if he (and/or Andy Murray) can make it and the Williams sisters play each other, I think we have a damn good Wimbledon.
