I really don't care...but in a weird self-aggrandizing sort of way, I would love to see the Cubs win a WS...just so that mystique goes away. And to see what all those fans would do without the "Wait 'til Next Year" shirts being sold outside the Urinal. And then I snap back and remember I don't really care one way or another what the North Side team does.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) Or for some, like me, it adds to the anger over it. Not that Sosa is a surprise at all, but, its frustrating, and makes me want all the more to see Selig have some balls and step down. Fixed that for you.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Whats sad about all this is North claimed he did a background check using google on Hernandez before he signed on, and "it came back clean" The guys over at the Chicago sports fan message boards spent 3.95 on some archived articles from the Trib, and found two articles from 2003 and 2004 about Hernandez and his legal troubles, including him being a former convicted felon. It just goes to show you that if you REALLY want something, you will (or won't) see exactly what you want to.

Do nothing. When Wise comes up...sit down. Watch the pitcher. Watch Cox at third giving signs. See if you can see Hawk in the booth. Scope out the chicks. Get a beer...or nachos...or a brat. Go to the bathroom. Or better yet...why don't you cheer for the laundry and forget who's wearing it.

They coulda saved time and just used Chuck Norris.

Ozzie and Lou go out for a night on the town drinking Corona's and Vodka's...during the game. Larry Rothschild hikes his uniform pants up to his neck, choking off blood to his brain and Big Z collapses like they are identical twins. Greg Walker and Von Joshua get into it before the game arguing who got more flack as White Sox hitting coach. Walk ultimately wins by lifting and pulling Joshua's jock up over his head. A shirtless, drunken Cubs fan fratboy declares, "I think I may actually like the White Sox more after this game!" The universe immediately blinks out of existence.

Drink lots of beer, eat lots of food, take a dump in the trough.

Brookstone. Rand McNally store, if it's still open. I wouldn't use a grounding adapter...the fewer the apparatus, the less problems.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) Dr.Gregory House did this years ago. Except instead of gps he used a ruler and instead of surgical equipment he used a plastic spork. MacGyver did this years before that. Except instead of gps he used yarn and instead of surgical equipment he used a piece of gum on the end of a stick.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) Nobody is pro-abortion? Well, you basically got 5 groups of people. 1.) Strict pro-life, no abortions for any reason. 2.) Pro-life but can see justification in abortions in some scenarios and are very strongly anti-late term abortion. 3.) Don't care. 4.) Pro-choice who feel it's the women choice, but don't necessarily support abortion 5.) The people who think abortion is alright at anytime for any reason. You can also include eugenics people in here (I love how no one calls out Hilary Clinton for her deep admirition in Marget Sanger even though she was as racist as they come and dreamed of an all white society). Maybe it isn't a real word, but there are plenty of proabortion people out there. And pro choice people certainly aren't anti-abortion. BearSox...I am number 4. I am not pro-abortion. I am pro-choice. Last I checked, that's what this country was founded on. You can keep spitting into the wind but you are the only one getting wet. EDIT: And...even though I hate to use this...you are 18 and don't know s***, yet. I would smack myself if I heard some of the things I said at 18. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) I'm interested to see if he produces at all when he gets back off the DL. His stuff was very meh all of spring and the big Sox homer in me hopes that Kenny wasn't just shooting us a bunch of malarky when he touted this kids arm and that we see him make some big strides now that he's healthy (if he was in fact hurt). He WAS a highly touted prospect in the Yankee org if I remember correctly. Usually, there's something to it. Hopefully he can show us.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 01:26 PM) DeWayne Wise for a box of athletic supporters... Oh, I thought you said trades that should have happened, my bad. There you go...overvaluing our players again..... /green???

Should the U.S. adopt English as the Official Language?
CanOfCorn replied to ChiSox_Sonix's topic in The Filibuster
How about the fact that the US is already behind on knowing multiple languages? People who grow up in other countries know many languages and HAVE to take English as well as their native language. Here's the thing...luckily most of Canada speaks English first. But the majority of our neighbors to the South speak Spanish. I think it behooves this country to mandate all kids to learn Spanish as it is going to be increasingly useful. The goal being to help integrate new immigrants, mostly from these countries, but also helps our kids in learning other languages like French and Italian. AND, it might help kids be more interested in learning MORE languages. So, to answer the question, if English IS mandated as the official language (which it shouldn't because that goes against what the US is all about), then Spanish should be a sub-official language, or something like that. -

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 11:15 AM) In Wise's defense they need somebody on the bench who can pinch-run. Can't use Nix/Getz as that guy because you don't want to lose your middle-infielder as a pinch-runner. We've got Clayton Richard. /green Dweezy needs to be DFA'd and released.

QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 04:51 PM) I'm the last one that would want our team to loose on purpose for a draft pick or anything like that but... I think with this situation and current roster there is little chance we can compete for this division. There's no reason by sorta in it to rush CQ when he's not healthy. I say let's start the youth movement, let CQ heal, and come back full force next year, while allowing the kids to get used to majors and also be part of next year's squad. With that said I always will cheer the Sox on to win. Stop suckin' up to the mods, tommy.

Bill O'Reilly called George Tiller "a baby killer" witho
CanOfCorn replied to spiderman's topic in The Filibuster
I know this would be nearly impossible to prove, but if there was some evidence, could O'Reilly be brought up on charges for murder? For instance, if there was proven contact between the murderer and O'Reilly? Also, could Tiller's family bring up a civil suit against O'Reilly? Just curious from one of the 7 people left on the planet that's not a lawyer.
