  1. Was just typing up a post on how college baseball baserunning is horrific just as Beckham does that.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) So tired of this team's effort early To be fair to Danks, it's a problem with most everyone. I guess that should be on the coaching staff.
  3. That would be amazing to offer Hickman 2 the full allotment. Would make a below average draft into a decent one

  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 10:42 AM) Why don't all African-American just join the NRA and carry guns....reverse psychology way to get to gun control? http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/10/us/guns-race/index.html nra is accepting of blacks to join them these days. They're biggest pr piece is black so they're trying to go after that crowd. Well see if it works.

    2015 TV Thread

Battlebots was amazing last night. Even better than I remember. Lots of action. True Detective was good too.
  7. Okay, well you are in for an absolutely incredible time. I've been to Vegas every year since I've been 21 and it's incredible every time. Funnest city on earth by farrrr. I don't know how to explain it other than it doesn't feel like real life. Anyways I've given this advice before in this thread, but I wouldn't plan too much. Take a night, buy a bottle of hard alcohol and just walk up and down the strip (you can drink on the street if you haven't realized that yet). For stuff to do, go to Downtown Vegas (the old strip) during the day daytime. It's all the fun of the strip at none of the expense. They redeveloped the area a few years back and it's really awesome. Night club I recommend Voodoo Lounge at the Rio hotel. It's 50 floors up and outside. Awesome views overlooking the strip makes for an incredible atmosphere. You shouldn't have problems getting in there like a lot of other clubs. The day clubs are supposed to be the best part of Vegas but sadly I still haven't made it to one. But yeah I'd check those out too. Hotels I would not blow your budget on. Go to lasvegas.com and book the cheapest air+hotel package that isn't Spirit Air. You're going to be really tempted to book Spirit, not heed any of the warnings, but it is every bit as bad as people say, and worse. Particularly on the way back you'll probably be hungover and want to kill yourself. I've stayed at Hooters, mgm, venetian, Paris and Harrahs. Couldn't tell you what any of the rooms look like. You're never in them. Paris has an amazing pool and pool party that's about all I remember. Hooters is practically free and the cheapest tables on the strip. Do that if you're on a budget. Location is the most important thing IMO. The central, slightly north part of the strip is the best part. Anywhere on there should be fine. I wouldn't stay south of MGM or north of the Wynn. Definitely stay away from Mandalay Bay and stratosphere.
  8. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 04:47 PM) Listen lads, I won on Alejandro too. He was .164/.190/.328 and I said that was nowhere near his talent which was about a league average hitter. He ended up hitting .252/.314/.386. I won a bet on it, but never got paid out. #JusticeForTheFeek I'm almost certain you were pimping him earlier this year too though, and then he got dfa'd by the Orioles. He seems to be doing nice for Boston so far though
  9. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 04:37 PM) Things Feeky told you early in the year: Avi will slump baaaad Putnam will come gooood Listen to the Feek don't call my name, says the feek. Alejan-dro! Alejandro!
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 04:29 PM) The org just really struggles to scout offensive talent Scout or develop? What are the chances he makes a flawless transition if he stays in the Tigers org? On the flip side, what are the chances Semien and Phegleyhit this year if they stay?
  11. Melky going to end up with a better average than Avi soon, lol
  12. That was probably the best flowers AB ever. He still made an out.
  13. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 10:12 PM) Okay - didn't realize things were that hard-nosed. Now was Glines really a 10th round talent; or did they just pick him so that they could get 150K in cap room, essentially punting their 10th pick? 10th round talent doesn't really mean anything in the modern mlb draft. It should be used Like the Sox did, well under slot signing to save your draft pool $$$. Glines was a A+ pick in that regard. He is both a guy to watch and saved a boatload of cash. But yes there were a lot of names more talented then him, just that you wouldn't save the cash on them. Our 9th round pick as mentioned was a total punt. 11th-40th round pick you can pay 100k max. If you go under, that amount does not go to your added draft pool. If you go over 100k however, you get charged against your draft pool. So we signed 170k a hs pitcher on day 3. That means that extra 70k has to come from somewhere aka one of those under slot signings from the first couple days. Drafting Glines helped us sign him. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 07:14 AM) That's what I thought, too.... creating the cap room and then treating it like an asset. Did they create it for Fulmer, or someone else? Hard to say. I don't think Fulmer will go over slot. Probably at slot. Most of the money is going to our 6th round pick Zangari who went well above slot.
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) Maybe I missed this but why would Glines sign for 10K, 150K below slot? He's a senior. No leverage. Take the 10k or don't play.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) That guy just seems like an awful individual. (And that has nothing to do with not giving A Rod his ball back) Why? Seemed cool on his SportsCenter interview today.
  16. Good. Always root against the perfect game.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:35 PM) We'd be the ones to say no to that. A top five player in baseball on a cheap contract is worth more than two top ten prospects. Yep
  18. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:26 PM) Who f***ing cares about pitch count? The sox dont. I was surprised.
  19. So sale puts in a trade request right after the game right
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) Robertson vs Gallo is one of the most likely strikeout match-ups in the history of baseball Haha I was going to say something similar. They should have ph mid at bat after the wild pitch.
