  1. 2nd round interview tomorrow for a big bank internship. Nervous.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 01:10 AM) ???? By all accounts teams wanted Asik but the Bulls refused to trade them. So if NBA Gms are "smart" like you say, then they are in agreement that Asik is valuable. If Asik has no value, then why were teams wanting him to be included in deals? Your argument makes no sense. Because it's pretty clear he wasn't enough to get any deal done, or he'd be gone right now. Of course the Bulls are going to come out and publicly say they don't plan on trading him. They aren't dumb either. They aren't going to show their hand. Nor are they going to say "Oh yeah, we tried trading him" once they couldn't work out a deal.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 11:45 PM) I am stunned the Bulls stood pat. If they were willing to ride or die (and they will die, early in the playoffs) with Keith Bogans at two guard because they didn't want to trade Omer Asik, then shame on them even more. I just don't see any way a team as weak at the 2 and 3 as the Bulls can do much in the playoffs. Agreed. But really, NBA GMs are a lot smarter than this board. Asik isn't worth a whole lot or he'd be on a plane right now, no doubt.
  4. I agree that Mayo may not even be that good. But in the very least, he's worth a lot more than Asik on name alone. That alone makes the trade worth it if you wanted to spurn if off for other parts. Of course trading is a free market, so that the initial trade would never happen to begin with as I doubt the Grizzlies would be so dumb. The Bulls could do without Asik, I have no doubt. Kurt Thomas is more than a capable backup for Noah who will be hogging all the minutes. This team can be holding the trophy if they acquire a quality SG. You take every step to get one especially when it won't hurt your main rotation. IF not Mayo, than someone. Unfortunately, pickings seem to be slim at this point.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) Nice post coming from someone who wouldn't deal Omer f***ing Asik for OJ Mayo. Now that's laughable. And yeah, I would not deal Taj+him for Mayo straight up, but only because it kills the Bulls own depth. Both are replaceable in their own right. They would still need other parts coming back if they were to trade both.
  6. I cannot believe the the love Omer Asik gets on the board. I really cannot comprehend it. You do him and parts for Mayo every single time no matter what. Of course that hasn't happened because no GM would be dumb enough to accept that trade, but still. Him+Taj gets a little iffy, but neither has too much of a future here anyways. You'd probably hope to get a better offer than Mayo for them.
  7. Especially to a coach who has talked about retirement before and has a clause in his extension that he's getting paid a hefty sum no matter what. Not that 3 games would push that decision, but he could walk through this whole thing unscaved.
  8. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 12:12 AM) It's Miami's first-round pick for this year, which is currently held by Toronto. Not bad, especially if you scout well. Can get a decent role player around 30. Although the Bulls basically traded first round draft picks straight up and moved down 14 spots or so. I would love to pull a Spurs and use it on a foreign player who then blossoms a couple years later for you. Malcolm Lee please.
  9. Yeah, you do this deal every time if you're the Knicks.
  10. Pretty sure it's a ref/media conspiracy to make them relevant again.
  11. Yeah, he's one of the three faces of the franchise that we have. Overpaying him a little is understandable.
  12. Since 2001 is getting some mention here, Ill say Dre is probably my favorite of all time. Its just hard to differentiate him from his producing since he doesn't write a lot of his stuff and doesn't even appear on some songs he takes credit for. That said, his two albums are two in my top three of alltime. I can't wait for detox.
  13. Eminem has been pretty bad since the Marshall Mathers LP. Granted, that may be the best rap album of all-time. And Biggie? Definitely not. I'd probably go with Jay-Z number one, too.
  14. The three worst refs in the country are all predominantly Big Ten refs. Hillary, Burr, and Hightower. Valentine is bad too, but he doesn't do a whole lot here. Anyways, it's a wonder why the officiating in the conference is so bad. I'm actually to the point where I almost like seeing Hightower.
  15. Not saying I buy into this theory, but can someone explain this: We don't have a portal in ESPN MLB's blog page, whereas pretty much most every other team is listed. I think sometimes people forget we're from Chicago. On another note, it'd be an interesting place for soxtalk to step into.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) Msu is in the 40's though. Yeah, just pointing out they'll have another common opponent.
  17. Ohio State has beaten 2 top 25 kenpom teams: @Illinois, and crushing Purdue at home Kansas has beaten 2: Arizona on a neutral court, Missouri at home Texas has beaten 4: Missouri at home, Illinois in New York, North Carolina in NC, and at Kansas Texas also won at Michigan State, which tOSU has a chance to do tonight.
  18. Top 20 1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2. Fallout 3 (barely loses out here) 3. Super Smash Brothers Melee 4. Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening 5. Half-Life, but mainly for it's mods like Team Fortress and Day of Defeat and other obscure ones like Wanted. 6. Warcraft 3 7. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 8. F-Zero GX 10. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 11. Pokemon Red/Blue 12. Resident Evil 4 13. Harvest Moon 64 14. Resistance: Fall of Man 15. TimeSplitters 2 16. Mario Kart Double Dash Or MKWii or MKDS, can't decide. Actually, Diddy Kong Racing may have topped them all. 17. Dragon Warrior 3 18. Fire Emblem 19. Roller Coaster Tycoon 20. Donkey Kong 64 or DKC. Can't decide. Left out sports games because my likes our obscure. Arcady games like Wii Sports, Wayne Gretzky, any Mario sports game, WCW vs. NWO, NBA Jam, and Ken Griffey SNES all belong. My sim likes are Fifa 2002, College Hoops 2k8, MLB 2005, and NBA 2k5.
  19. I saw the Eagle tonight. I actually liked it but I can't explain why.
  20. Someone give me an internship for the summer with something relating to Finance. Thanks.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 09:19 PM) I partly agree with you. Who cares if a student crowd rushes the court after a big win like today? They are college kids. If the school allows it, let them do it. Again, meaningful wins. Not Savannah State. Then I would be with the other "Anti Storm the Floor" snobs. Didn't know so many would take offense, but yes, I agree. The Savannah State thing was kind of a joke. Point remains is, as you said, these are college kids. It's something fun to do so they're going to do it. I don't think they put much stock in history of the programs, or exact quality of the win. Going on a rant here, but I also hate when people complain about classless chants from student sections. Don't get me wrong, there are things that go to far, but it was funny to see outrage to Wisky's chants of "Diebler swallows" today. I don't know what people expect from a bunch of 20 year old drunken males. I mean, a big point of them is to get under the opponents' skin This is why Maryland will always be my favorite student section and my own school, Illinois, will be my least.
  22. I hate rushing the court elitism. I would rush the court against Savannah State if people came with me.
  23. I think it's Peavy if he's healthy. Voted for Konerko for now.
