  1. I was actually there. I got invited to a VIP party at the Oak Street Beachstro for the broadcast. I can actually be seen in some of TV shots/photos which was pretty awesome for me. It was pretty cool because it was obviously not a set-up or anything like that. Someone happened to spot Garry Meier down the street and Dahl, almost jokingly, said someone should invite him in. Moments before Meier actually got there, Dahl was blasting him(How could you turn down 1.5 million dollars?) They seemed to get along fine though. Anyway, it was a lot of fun to watch it live.
  2. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) It takes a lot to make you wistful about Billy Koch. Billy Koch never blamed anyone but himself. He was a hard-worker who just couldn't get it done here for many reasons, but he would never, ever blame anyone but himself. This doesn't belong near the category of what Freddy Garcia has done.
  3. If it ever does come down to getting rid of just Garcia or just Vazquez, I think the situation should be much clearer now.
  4. Just got back!!! I know it goes without saying, but it was indeed the greatest movie of all-time. The theater was sold out, and as soon as the movie started and Samuel L's name flashed across the screen, everyone got up to give a standing ovation. It was crazy! I've never seen such a crowd reaction to a movie. The crowd was nuts through the entire movie, clapping when ever Mr. Jackson said a word, or screaming out "SNAKES!!!" whenever appropriate. Oh, man when he said the line, the enitre theater just erupted, and you couldn't even here the rest of his speech. Unfortunatly, the credits at the end had to roll sometime, but not before more standing O's. I'd give it 96 stars out of 4 We mine as well skip the best actor award for Samuel L because it's too obvious. Instead, just give him his lifetime achievment award now- as he'll never be better than he was in this movie(unless there is a sequel of course).
  5. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) I doubt Thome was placed on waivers... I don't see why not. Heck, I remember when we placed Loaiza on waivers in the middle of his miracle season. It's not like it matters who you put through, as long as you take them off.
  6. Whose dressing up tonight for the debut? I'm going as a plane, one of my other friends will be Samuel L and the rest will be snakes. I can't frickin' wait.
  7. I remember having a Charles Johnson man-crush.
  8. I'd be willing to take on any moderation jobs if you like. The only problem is that I don't have a team, I just tend to follow everyone.
  9. EA and ESPN are holding a 20 PPV special to unveil this game. Wow, how lame. I bet it gets 0 buys.
  10. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) I don't know about the 2005 White Sox as a top team of the last 25 years. Why not? Weren't they in first place everday of last year, have the best record in MLB nearly everyday last year(This even more impressive seeing how at no time has one league been so weak in comparison to the one the Sox play in over the past 25 years), and tie for the best playoff record ever while winning the World Series? What else did they need to do?
  11. Oh my god.... This one of the funniest articles I have ever read. Some people are just soooo stupid. There's lots of bad language for a warning. http://www.somethingawful.com/index.php?a=4016
  12. Has anyone seen The Descent? One of the best horror movies, if not the best, of all-time. It's right up there with Jaws, Deliverance and Alien.
  13. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:23 AM) Madden is a great game and I will be buying it, but I was kind of disappointed in Madden 06. They really didnt have many new features, and it sucks that there isnt many new features in this years game. It pissed me off when EA bought the NFL rights because I knew this would happen. Actually, EA is adding plenty of features to the Wii version, so I'm happy about that. For example, to throw the ball, you have to actually make a throwing motion with your arm. This replacing pressing the X button definitly adds tons of new elements to sports video games.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 03:56 AM) Or maybe it takes more than great stuff to get people out. Nah, that can't be it, our scouts are clueless. It was his debut. He'll come around. Not sure what our scout have to do with his line...
  15. Because there are none(unless controlling offensive linemen counts as a new feature). EA is trying to steal your money.
  16. Rob Mackowiak not hitting well? Huh? He's hitting .299 this year, 27 points higher than his previous high. And his OBP is sitting way above his career numbers as well. I'd say he's doing damn fine.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) Winning in the playoffs is all about momentum. The reason so many WC teams had won the WS is because they had a lot of momentum going into the playoffs since they had to fight through a tight race to get there. If that is what happens to us, then I'd be fine with it. However, if we do win the division, it's going to be just as tight. We'll be carrying that momentum regardless.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) No, fathom. That...is...Perfect. I bet only uou could throw a 50 yard touchdown pass to yourself.
  19. QUOTE(pierard @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 06:28 AM) The commentary on Iguchi's play was absolutely genius. Somehow, they managed to squeeze in two racist stereotypes in 10 seconds. Iguchi is Japanese and therefore a ninja, and his play, again remember that Iguchi is Japanese, is "Zen-like". Even better than just assuming that the average person could get his joke, whoever it was (the new guy) said "get it because he's Japanese." Ohhhh now I get it, LOL! ESPN......YES! I was just about to say something about that. Disgraceful.
