5/25 GT 1:10p- CLE vs Sox Series Finale- Kluber (4.10) vs Q (1.98)
Q would be on the verge of getting tossed if this was Little League

5/25 GT 1:10p- CLE vs Sox Series Finale- Kluber (4.10) vs Q (1.98)
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 25, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) Going to be one of these days. Not even good at bats out of the gate and then the lead off single. In other news cubs are back on track after Arrieta gave up a run, they got 6 back. Jake will throw about 95 pitches today to get the win rather easily and only be rivaled by Klubers 91 pitch compete game. Hopefully KC and Tigers games stay same score

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
I had hoped Zobrist was old and last year was the beginning of the end for him. Instead, he's one of the best in baseball this year (5th in fWAR).

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 25, 2016 -> 07:23 PM) I really wish the Jimmy Rollins love affair would end soon. Pinch hit, one day a week SS and that's about it. With Q on the mound, load up on defense. I expect a lot of ground ball singles to left today. You knew as soon as they signed him that he would get way too much playing time.

5/25 GT 1:10p- CLE vs Sox Series Finale- Kluber (4.10) vs Q (1.98)
Rollins back at SS batting 2nd, Avi at DH hitting 8th. Kluber has destroyed righties this year, it's disappointing the Sox don't have any lefty options to DH.

5/24 - Indians (Tomlin) @ Sox (Sale) - 7:10 PM
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:23 AM) You may be correct. If you are that says a lot about them mentally doesn't it? And that indicates a much bigger issue to me. Mark I hate that particular game as much as anyone. However as the season drags on, you see just how mediocre so many of the players on the roster are. They legitimately need a SS, catcher, two starters and another reliever (and that's with me hoping Jackson improves). The free agent hitters all flopping, like you said, has helped lead to another sad offense.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:22 AM) Six guys in the starting lineup tonight now hitting .250 or less and Lawrie is at .251. You thought it couldn't happen again offensively from last year? Better think again. Hitters come to Chicago and die. There's an organizational issue in play here, its systemic...all these players the Sox have acquired since 2006 can't all be this bad when they put that uniform on. The players are partly responsible. Those that evaluate them, trade for them, sign them as free agent's are the bigger problem in my opinion. Mark Not getting Desmond or Fowler was such a blunder.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:17 AM) I wonder if the "new blood" on the team would admit the squad quit after the Robin/Caroll implosion in Texas. It shouldn't take 2-3 weeks to get over one loss. By no means did they quit after it. More just lost some of the confidence they had late in games. Albers for sure has lost his swagger.

QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:04 AM) This is f***ing embarrassing. They were down by 4 runs. 4 RUNS! The other teams in the central can put up that amount of runs and pick up their ace. The bullpen even kept them in the game. Get pissed off and go win tomorrow or have a f***ing fun trip in KC. Offense has so many holes right now. There is nothing on the bench that can help, as do you really want to see Sands vs Kluber?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:06 AM) 21,550 tonight. Outdrawn by the Twins, somehow. KC travels well

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:02 AM) Don't care. Hit 9th and play defense. That's what they currently have and he's a better defender than Ajax. To me, he's just not good enough to be a full time starter. I know he can give you what Jackson currently is, but what he currently is giving the Sox is mediocrity. I have always thought May is a 4th outfielder at best.

Another night of failure for this offense

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 25, 2016 -> 03:59 AM) I think Jacob May is the CF next year. He can give you what Austin Jackson is. You think he can hit enough?

5/24 Games
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:49 AM) Zangari 0 for 4 with 3 K. I'm sure he will get the proper teaching and development in our system

Indians 4th and 5th starters just dominating the Sox. This team is just not good right now

Heck of an overall game for Avila...yikes.

Offense decided to call it a night after the Avi play

5/24 - Indians (Tomlin) @ Sox (Sale) - 7:10 PM
Saladino is a good defensive player who is fine as the 9th hitter. Problem is the catcher and CF spot are also players that are defense-first. Just not enough offensive talent in the lineup

5/24 - Indians (Tomlin) @ Sox (Sale) - 7:10 PM
Nice defense by Indians. They are playing a great game

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:59 AM) is this post from last year? could be Bad combination when your bat is too slow to hit a fastball and you can't adjust your swing to hit something slow and low

Chicago's Other Ace
QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:24 AM) Yep, Sale has been fantastic and I am a huge fan. But, I honestly don't think Arrieta will ever get lit up this season like Sale did tonight. Sale is absolutely great. Arrieta though is arguably on the greatest run of pitching our generation has seen.

Avila just can't hit anymore. Looks like he's 45 years old
