QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 01:17 AM) Four homers now for Harper. Guess it is only going to take him one year of adjustment to put up a 25-30 homer season. He's going to hit way more than that

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 12:12 AM) Not making Zimmerman work very hard at all so far, still a low pitch count. This Sox team doesn't like to draw walks

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 09:44 PM) I don't want Buehrle to pitch against the Sox. We're built to destroy him. What?

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 09:48 PM) https://twitter.com/DanHayesCSN/status/322087775857938432 Just put him on the DL. We all know this is going to take more than a week. Yep, should be Sanchez that gets the call.

Chicagosports.com saying Beckham likely to be out a few days due to wrist injury.

The merchandise aspect of marketing for the Sox is pathetic. You want to try and get people excited about someone like Sale? Well, then you should be selling his jerseys throughout Chicagoland. If you go somewhere like Sports Authority, you'll definitely find Konerko jerseys and might find someone like Peavy, Rios or Beckham if you're lucky.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 02:25 AM) The bloom is already off the Donnie Veal rose. That was doomed to be another version of Politte/Cotts in 2005. Way, way too early to be giving up on Veal. I'm way more concerned that Thornton's going to continue to struggle as opposed to Veal.

After all the struggles vs Gio, the offense really turned it around only to see the pitching blow up. Sox just need to find a way to keep getting people on for Rios.

Rios is just awesome

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 03:17 AM) Lannan was their OD starter in 2011, right? They've made some curious pitching decisions. Edwin Jackson's a much better choice than Dan Haren at this point in their respective careers. They didn't want to have to give Jackson 4 years

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 03:14 AM) And this just in...Matt Thornton should have been traded after the 2011 season, when he still had value. IIRC, the Sox tried like crazy to trade him and he had no value.

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 02:06 AM) This Nats team doesn't suck. They're incredible, and could have been even better if they didn't waste money on a washed-up Haren.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 02:58 AM) I think the Sox should carry one less pitcher and one more position player, especially since we will be having interleague games throughout the season. Why do we need 12 pitchers? I would love for them to have a 3rd catcher on the roster so that Ventura can have someone hit for Flowers if there's a tough righty reliever on the mound. With that said, the only viable person to send down from the bullpen would be Veal if you want to use Santiago more in LHP/lefty hitter situations.

Flowers is going to lead the league in strikeouts looking. He has a terrible tendency to take 2 strike pitches down the plate for strike 3 or chase 2 strike pitches off the plate.

BTW, coming into tonight, the Sox had 10 less walks than any other AL team and 29th overall.

Too many mistakes being left over the plate/inner half tonight. Really poor pitching effort by the Sox.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 02:45 AM) Because he was godlike last year And Septimo was total garbage

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 02:43 AM) The shine on Donnie Veal = officially gone. I hope Leyson is sharp in Charlotte Veal is way better than Septimo, he just needs to find his release point.

Would anyone be shocked to learn Quentin left the Padres game injured today?

Veal and Jones just seem to overthrow a lot of their pitches so far this year.

This defense is pathetic

Hasn't Viciedo been a slow starter throughout his professional career?

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 02:30 AM) Oh Paulie, how I've missed you!! Last two games, he's hit maybe 4 balls with authority.

PK! Ugh, that decision to let Peavy stay in really stings.

Sox swept the Nationals 3 years ago, and it's incredible to see how much better this Nats team is than the team from 3 years ago. Credit to Rizzo for building a powerhouse.
