Sox @ Angels 5-25-09 - Danks vs. Santana
Angels might steal 15 bases in this 3 game series. A pitch out once every decade would be nice.

Angels running us out of the park. BTW, has anyone ever heard why Alexei never plays in the hole? Being at the game on Friday, it's shocking how much he shades every hitter towards the middle.

What terrible pitch calling by AJP. He's doing such a terrible. job. And Pods showcasing his weak arm, as Abreu wasn't even at 3rd.

So if CQ heard something pop, it could very well be his achilles. When you walk/run gingerly like he's been doing, it leaves you prone to weird injuries. Let's hope that's not it.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 26, 2009 -> 02:23 AM) Whatever, the way it was worded rubbed me the wrong way. Doesn't even sound like anything a fan would say. Sorry, of all people, I wouldn't say something bad about Quentin. Hell, after last year, I was going to name my first born son after him.

Danks getting squeezed. Angels about to get a ton of momentum. That AJP at bat was huge for them.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 26, 2009 -> 02:20 AM) CQ heard a "pop" definitely on the way to the DL. Who said he heard a pop?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 26, 2009 -> 02:21 AM) What kind of a f***ing statement is that? What? I wasn't trying to be an ass about it. I say that about everyone who I see have an injury like that. It's more like I'm saying "and he's going to be on the DL".

Goodness...there's no way he should ever be facing a pitcher like Santana. I'd rather take Betemit and his sure error at 3B than Fields and no range.

Sox @ Angels 5-25-09 - Danks vs. Santana
Fields isn't even a Major Leaguer. I can't believe how bad he looks at the plate.

Sox @ Angels 5-25-09 - Danks vs. Santana
AJP can't get the job done. Not a big surprise these days with him at the plate.

Have fun on the DL CQ. Let's just hope he didn't just blow out his achilles.

And CQ gets hurt on a rocket double.

Malholm must not like pitching with the lead.

Great start, as we're all over Santana's fastball. Have a good AB Thome.

Alexei has such potential in the 2nd spot. Sure seemed like Pods could have scored, but no reason to risk it with no outs.

Chone would be signed to play CF.

Mercy, Laroche bailed Dempster out. Swung at ball 4 about 2 feet off the plate.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 26, 2009 -> 01:30 AM) I didn't realize the Pirates were +7 in runs scored versus allowed yet still four under .500. This ump has a huge zone against Soto. He did bail out Theriot on a pitch that should have easily been strike 3.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 26, 2009 -> 01:12 AM) 1-0 Pirates on an Rbi single by Laroche. Top of the 1st. Don't worry, Pirates remembered they're the Pirates. Laroche booted a grounder at 3rd base, allowing Theriot to get a "double" to score a run.

I believe Anderson would probably be faster, but I'd also give Pods the advantage over Anderson in terms of hitting for average. However, anyone who's followed the Sox since 2005 should know who Ozzie favors in this situation.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2009 -> 11:52 PM) I still can't figure out how that roster has turned out that poorly. Chris Young has just been awful, Y. Petit is one of the worst pitchers I've ever seen, and Eric Byrnes should give a refund on his contract, as it's obvious he was a juicer.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 26, 2009 -> 12:48 AM) I've adopted the Diamondbacks as my (sorta) National League team. I really like the concept of a moneyball team actually hiring a moneyball manager. It was a bold move, and i love that kinda stuff. Yep, and they suck. It's too bad, as they have the best announcer in baseball, Darren Sutton.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 25, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) He's hitting .268 with 2 [real] extra base hits and has displayed some atrocious baserunning, the fact that he's getting the most PA on this team is just sickening. And before anyone mentions it Pods is hitting .231/.286/.308/.593 in the leadoff spot. I feel like I'm falling back into t la-la land again just as I did at the end of spring training. It's like I'm watching a different f***ing game. How come Hawk's not getting on Pods for all the weak fly balls he's hitting? The funny thing is that Pods is showing more ability to bunt now than he ever did in 2005 and 2006.
