  1. Who's your All-American team so far? Here's mine: pg- S. Curry sg- M. Harris c- D. Blair sf- J. Harden pf- B. Griffin Second team would be Lawson, McNeal, Jordan Hill, Singler, Harangody Third team would be Collison, Jerrells, Monroe, Evan Turner, and Hansbrough
  2. Rock said this rumor would come out...and that is was bogus.
  3. QUOTE (joeynach @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 01:15 AM) pretty freaking stupid. The sox stadium is gonna look pathetic if they go into the season with a knocked down ramp and a half constructed new entrance in place. Wait, we're going to have people going to the games in this economy?
  4. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 04:29 AM) Anybody see the Billy Ray Cyrus mullet on that Texas player they showed on the sideline? That was fantastic. Maybe the highlight of the bowl season so far.
  5. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 01:09 AM) That's why you are Mr. Pessimism! Nothing KW has said leads me to believe he will sign him. So I think it is very possible. Anyone that remembers me from the Cubs/Dbacks series 2 years ago knows how much I love Lyon. However, I don't believe these "XM radio" reports. No offense to the person who started this thread.
  6. I'm going to go ahead and call BS on this report.
  7. This will be an interesting dynamic, as a lot of former Cubs players have claimed that Wrigley hosts some of the most racist fans in the majors (especially in the bleachers).

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 02:40 AM) Looks like the girl from Cloverfield. It is...she's also the spanish speaking young girl from Kindergarten Cop.
  9. QUOTE (Jimmywins1 @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) Maybe the Sox are considering moving Gordon Beckham to CF? That would be beyond dumb, as one of the pluses with Slayer is the offense he provides as a middle infielder.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 07:56 PM) Good game for Illinois, even though they lost. I really thought they played well until about half way through the 2nd half. Where was Davis today? Still too many errant jump shots, but they continue to show me that instead of cowering from adversity like last year, they play through it. They took 3 or 4 big punches in the 2nd half and responded. They just couldn't respond to the last one. Michigan looks like a much improved team, but until they learn to get the ball inside they're going to be a one and done. You live and die by the 3, which is why they can win big games but lose bad games. Still though, if you're a Michigan fan you have to be excited. 1 out of 2 on the road to start the conference season is great, especially when they started AT Purdue and AT Michigan with little rest. Manny Harris, in my opinion, has been the 4th best player in the country this season after Griffin, Curry, and Harden.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) Some good Big Ten basketball being played right now. Illinois/Michigan has been a great game thus far. Agreed, it's been a very entertaining game. It's amazing how much better coached Michigan is under this regime compared to their previous one. It gives me hope for when GT finally cans Hewitt.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 09:52 PM) In a battle of who can get the least out of his talent, Mark Gottfried and Alabama is giving Ga Tech a beatdown. Hewitt trying to prove he really is second to none. Yep, wait until the superior coaching battle on Tuesday between Hewitt and Felton. Unfortunately, from what I've been told, Hewitt will be given one more season after this.
  13. Luke Harangody is the biggest whiner in college basketball.
  14. The Orioles aren't going to trade Roberts and more in order to get Floyd.
  15. Would fit with KW getting guys he's had his eyes on a few years too late. However, I think it would be interesting....I'd rather have him in CF than Owens.
  16. This doesn't seem to be legit, but rather speculation from Baltimore's side about the type of player they should pursue for Roberts. No reason to get worked up over it.
  17. No reason to get upset about this yet, as KW and Ozzie would never put such a pathetic team on the field come opening day. Both of them are too competitive to have a roster that has little chance to compete.
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 1, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) Sure, why the hell not? This offseason couldn't possibly suck any worse than it already has, so this can't hurt.
  19. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 05:15 PM) The Cubs just signed Aaron Miles.. and of course the Peavy rumors start up again. Bradley is an asshole and a maniac, but he's a hell of an offensive player who gives them exactly what they need from a lefty hitter.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 03:32 AM) You're better than that fathom. I had no problem with the free throw disparity, Illinois should not shoot a lot of free throws because they have face up bigs and guards that don't penetrate, and Purdue is a rough and tumble team that will shoot free throws. This game also had some horrible calls, but those calls went both ways as they often do in a Big 10 game because the refs are a joke in that conference. I think overall, to say this game was called in favor of either team is just not accurate. I missed the 1st half of the game. In the 2nd half and OT, I thought Illinois got a very solid effort from the refs. My overall response more had to deal with a certain aspect of Illini fans who think there's a conspiracy every game against them by the refs. Legion looked much better tonight, as he was fluid on the court.
  21. Cubs are about to trade Marquis for Luis Vizcaino so that they can sign Milton Bradley. Getting rid of Marquis is a great thing for the Cubs.
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 02:59 AM) I'm not saying that Illinois is getting screwed (except for the last one.... who calls that with one second left, in any game?). I'm just saying Purdue fans can't b**** about the refs in this game considering the free throw situation. I agree with this...both teams are rather inept at creating offense, which causes so much contact on every play. Illinois should have more FT than they have....but they've also got some unusual calls for a road team.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 02:55 AM) um, have you seen the free throw disparity? Deleted it, as I've realized it's just not worth arguing with Illinois fans about refs.
  24. Angelo would never trade draft picks for a player. He values draft picks more than any other GM in football.
  25. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) Olson had that ball and it should've been a TD. One thing I noticed is that Orton eyes his receiver too much. It was interesting, as Vasher was ripping on Orton for doing this too much on Comcast yesterday. You usually don't hear criticism like that from your teammate.
